    Agility course

This is the nicest dog park I've ever seen. It is large, filled with shady trees and includes a pond, an agility course and grooming stations.

Thank you SO much to whoever had the idea to create this wonderful place where I can bring my two energetic labs and they can go wild and crazy and literally sleep for 3 days after we leave. Oh, it's wonderful and they love it! My husband and I cannot even say bark park around them at home because they understand what those words mean and where it is and they go crazy. It's about a 30-minute drive for us, as we live in Savannah but it is so worth it! What sets them apart from any other dog park in this area, is their small pond and fountain for the doggies to swim in! They love it! They play fetch, swim, and splash for hours. You can bring a good book and relax on one of the benches or sit under the nice big covered area with pick-nick tables they just built there. Make sure to bring some towels because they have a very nice dog washing station with soap included to wash off your pet before you leave! This is soo convenient. Also, don't worry if you have smaller dogs, there is a separate area for them closed off from the other big dog section! I would lastly just recommend if coming in the evening hours, (after 6:00 pm) maybe pack some bug spray! Sometimes they can get bad. BEST WATER FUN, ENERGY GETTER OUTER, BARK PARK EVER!

Both of my pups really dig this place. They love being able to run and around and socialize with others. Definitely recommend.

The town of Bluffton inaugurated it's newest Dog Park last week with a ceremony. Located in the…read moreOscar Frazier Park area, they allotted a large wooded space with chain link fence to allow free roaming and playing of the dogs. There is an area for small/med dogs and also an area for med/large dogs. As with all dog parks, rules and special cautions should be followed without being told by another owner. Such as clean up after your dog (trash and pick-up bags provided). If your dog is aggressive, keep them on a leash. Take responsibility for your dog's actions and act quickly. Most of the dogs just like to play and sniff around. The ones I saw were all friendly and liked interacting with people over other dogs. There are benches for people sitting, not dog sitting. Although the dogs do like to sometimes hide under the bench.

GO AT YOUR OWN RISK!…read more I took my 9 month old Doodle to the park today (Aug. 18, 2021) at 4pm. While I am not a regular, we have been here a few times without any problems. Today, there was a woman with 2 Pitt Bulls. Yes, I've heard the usual, "but they're such nice dogs at home" crap. Well, today I almost left minus my Doodle. Within about 5 seconds of entering the park the Pitts were on him like a Great White on an injured walrus... They had him on the ground with one having a full clench on his throat. And no, this was not rough play. I've seen that and am OK with it. This was 2 Pitt Bulls jointly trying to murder my dog. My poor dog was screaming like someone was chopping his limbs off. And where was the Owner, relaxing on the bench while I intervened to save my dog. I ended up having to jump in the middle of the fray (very ill advised) and pick up my Doodle (all 54 lbs) up to my shoulders to keep them from killing him. I never imagined such a thing. It was an old fashioned wild dog feeding frenzy. The more he screamed, the more they went after him. Honestly, I am quite surprised they didn't go after me when I went to his rescue, but all I could think of was saving my puppy. Needless to say, there are no rules for dog breeds, etc. at dog parks; and there should be. Also, there should be dog number limits as well. Bringing not one, but 2 Pitts, who live together and in this case, hunt together, is just a recipe for disaster. So, it you go to this park, just know that there are SOME DOG OWNERS AND DOGS THAT SHOULD NOT BE THERE. Go at your own risk!

The DeVaul Henderson Lake Loop (DHLL) seemed to be the best bet due to length of the trail. When you are on Hwy 144 and you get to the roundabout, turn in on Veterans Memorial Parkway, where the Bryan County Administrative Complex is. The trail is located right next to it. You can't miss it. Parking - You can pretty much park anywhere on the grass along Veterans Memorial Parkway. I like to park toward the other end, by the elementary school, where you see the 4 wooden posts. Trail Description - From the 4 wooden posts, down to the paved path, the ground is dirt and a mix of sand and pine needles, and not paved, but that distance is minimal. It is surround by tall trees. Once you get down to the paved part, the signs indicate that it's a 0.5 mile loop. This loop has 3 different connection points to other parts of DeVaul Henderson Recreation Park (to soccer fields and restrooms) and I believe to the side of the Bryan County Administrative Complex. The connection points are located on the opposite side of Veterans Memorial Parkway. There are park benches all around the lake, as well as flotation devices in case someone gets in and needs some saving. There was a unique bench (kind of like one of those stone benches you see in gardens) and it had a sign "The Murphy Bench" that was placed there in memory of an infant boy. How tragic, but so touching. Difficulty Level - Easy for all ages. It is stroller and wheelchair friendly too, but might experience some bumpiness when going down that first small stretch to the paved path. Beware - There are signs that say "Beware of Wildlife". I am assuming they mean alligators, because that is what they always seem to warn you about around these parts, but we did not personally see any. But do we ever really see them when they are around? Unless they decide to come out of the water. However, we did see a lot of ducks swimming in the lake, as well as a beautiful white one just sitting on the side in the grass. This is a great place to run, walk, speed walk, scoot (my Little One took her scooter) and I saw some people fishing too. It's a great pit stop if you happen to be in the area. You can fill up on gas at the Shell Station and stretch those legs before you go on the next leg of your trip. Get outside, People!
