The machine only had solution that came out of one half of the machine. I brought it to the attention of the staff member who was working who advised to contact her once I showered to let her know if it developed ok. I contacted her the next day when I got out of the shower to find one side of my body tanned and the other with no colour at all. I sent her pictures and she advised that she would get back to me after speaking with the owner. By the time I heard back I was already on the plane so she left a voicemail telling me that I would have a free spray tan on my account for whenever I needed it. Fast forward to today when I attempted to use said tan. The manager was a complete bitch right from the get go and gave me attitude refusing to go out the tan. She then called the owner who also refused to allow me to use the tan even though I still have the voicemail to confirm the situation. I had been more than willing to pay for the tan if there was an issue when I first walked in but after the disgusting attitude I just walked out and will be going else where. The salon is filthy and dated. Staff are rude and nasty. For a business that never seems to have anyone in there they sure don't seem to appreciate the customers they actually have walking thru the door. Spend your hard earned money elsewhere

I had never gotten a Brazilian wax before, nor sugaring of any kind. I was convinced to try it…read moreafter reading and hearing the pros of sugaring. I stumbled upon Sugar Me Spa on Google and read some mixed reviews, but decided to give this place a try anyways. I booked my first Brazilian sugar appointment through their online booking service in April 2019 at the RH location. Jasmyne was my aesthetician, she made me feel comfortable and walked me through the process of my service. I left not knowing what the results should look and feel like, but now that I've gotten a bunch of Brazilian sugars done (with another business), I can confirm that my experience with Sugar Me Spa was not great. I still had a lot of hair that hadn't been "pulled" out by the sugar, but I thought that's how Brazilian waxes were as it was my first time receiving one. It looked like I had shaved quickly and didn't bother to go over a second time to get all the remaining hairs. It didn't bother me as I trusted the process and was planning to book with Sugar Me Spa again once time came. Their online booking was extremely inaccurate in regards to the times and/or dates available for services. I booked my second appointment, only to be texted that the establishment was closed during the time slot I had chosen and I had reschedule. I wasn't able to reschedule, so I cancelled it instead. I booked another appointment 1 month later (with Jasmyne as I already dealt with her my first time around), through the same online system. I received another text a week before my appointment stating Jasmyne was not working during the date and time I had chosen. I was offered different dates and times to reschedule, however, time was too tight to reschedule. I asked if another aesthetician could provide the service, to no avail. I rescheduled my appointment 1 month later (with Jasmyne) in August 2019, only to be texted that Jasmyne couldn't make it to work and was asked to reschedule again... Overall, over a span of 4 months, I went once with mediocre results. Their appointment booking service is extremely hectic and inconsistent.

Jasmine took the upmost care in what she was doing and my service lasted at most 10 minutes. The results are amazing...much better than waxing. The place is very clean, bright and inviting. I highly recommend Sugar Me Spa. The only reasons I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is the inability to pay with card and that it took a bit to find as it is inside the natural health storefront while I was looking for signage for Sugar Me Spa.

I made an appointment for a shellac pedicure and a gel manicure with extensions. Appointment for 12 and I left at 2:30. Tina was so meticulous and detailed - just what I love! She made sure my nails were perfect in shape, length, and polish application. The pedicure included a 5 min foot and leg massage which was soo good! Tina recommended the dipping powder mani which I never had before - so I decided to try it because I was told it's less damaging on the nail bed. Was I ever surprised! They use clear gel tips and the dipping powder was applied twice, and then the shellac polish on top. They feel secure and strong but not bulky or thick at all - I am so pleased. My mani was funny bunny for the base and I asked for a slight curve French tip. My pedi was just white ! Great experience.

The water was never changed once, not even after scrubbing and using soap. The soap and lotion they used smell interesting to me. The polish seems old and almost dried out, it was very thick and unevenly applied on my nails. Looked very unprofessional. After I came home, I had to remove it and take a shower. The whole experience was not pleasant and somewhat felt rushed not relaxing. If you call them, be patient with the receptionist, very difficult communicating with her.

It's not easy for a guy to submit to hair removal procedures in sensitive areas…read more It's not easy for a guy to call a SPA or salon to ask if they do "Brazilian for men". It is not easy, especially that, until recently, almost none of these businesses clearly advertised such a service. A nudist for many years, I had to suffer shaving around my penis and testicles when a smooth down-under became fashionable in nudist villages, resorts, hotels, beaches, etc. The culture of "waxing and sugaring are a woman thing" no longer holds water. True, still very few women beauticians are brave enough to invade man's private parts for the purpose of man-scaping, but some younger generation of beauticians don't subscribe to that stigma. One such ladies, a unique lady in her field in my opinion, is R i t a . A young woman who really loves what she does, Rita has no hang-ups when it comes to dealing with men's genitalia. She treats those private parts as you would other members of the body: hands, shoulders, ears, etc. And, more importantly and rightfully so, she is proud of her results. I've been having my back, shoulders, underarms and Brazilian waxed regularly as I travel a lot, mainly to naturist establishments. The woman who waxed me was super professional, loved her work, and did a great job. But I found myself always trying to space out the treatment sessions. Now I know why: the pain of waxing. Waxing in some areas of the body feels like torture. Thankfully, once upon a time, a couple of months ago, my travel plans changed, and I needed to wax on a Monday and fly out on Tuesday. I discovered that my wonderful waxer didn't work on Mondays. I had no choice but to surf the web, in search of someone that inspires trust and who works on Monday. I talked to a couple of hair removal experts. The one I felt most comfortable with on the phone was Rita. And the rest is history. She doesn't use wax. She uses sugar. Here is what I discovered I was missing during all these years of shaving, then waxing: 1. The pain factor is almost non-existent with sugar compared to waxing. 2. Rita's the kind of person you enjoy speaking with, even when you're lying down naked, and she's applying hot paste on the most sensitive body parts. 3. She took away from me that "should I go do it today?" or "maybe next week" feeling, that I always had when I took a waxing appointment. 4. I now feel this is "a break that I need once a month; it's good for me", rather than the "it's a necessary painful evil" of waxing. 5. I can go anywhere right after I'm done, because I don't feel sticky like after waxing, and definitely my scrotum is not bleeding in my pants as it almost always did after waxing. For me, there's no looking back. I found the perfect set-up for my hair removal needs.

I saw Rita for the first time yesterday and it was far better than what I had expected. Sugar is almost painless compared to waxing, especially on the dangly bits! I will definitely be a repeat customer and highly recommend her service.

Here's what I like about New Skin: 1) Effective laser - I have tried 3-4 different lasers in the past and have had little to no success (I have have medium-dark skin with very dark hair). After just one treatment on my underarms I have almost stopped shaving! 2) Great staff - Taslim and her technicians are very professional. They are always making sure that you are comfortable and that you're not in any pain. Other places I've been make me feel really rushed and unimportant (especially when you use a Groupon like I did), but these guys are great! 3) No trouble getting in touch to book an appointment - Really easy to get an appointment, they will always get back to you. I've heard horror stories about places that sell tons of Groupons and then don't respond to phone calls. This is not that kind of place. 4) Virtually pain free - Overall the treatment is very comfortable, and since this is the type of laser that they keep in constant movement, you don't get that one 'flash' of pain. It just feels warm over your skin, and they will always ask if it's too warm for you and make adjustments if necessary. The only drawback with this place is that the office is kind of strange, the room you get the treatment in is really nice and clean but the waiting room is a little odd and there's no receptionist, you just have to wait until they're done with their last patient (so far they've been really punctual). Other than that I have no complaints at all. Just know that you're not going to walk into a super swanky spa or anything, the office is minimalist but it's clean and it gets the job done. I started with my underarms and have already added on my legs!! Can't wait for my next treatment.

I'd say you get what you pay for here, but that wouldn't be entirely true--this salon, while…read moreboasting relatively low prices, makes up the prices for each client. There's no way my medium-length nails (that protrude no more than 1cm beyond my fingertips) could reasonably cost $12 more than the listed price for a sloppy full set. I have many grievances with this salon: -my husband called ahead to book an appointment for me as it was a Friday and the person did not ask for a name or any information beyond "What you want? What time?" -Once arrived for my appointment, it was as if nobody had even written down the appointment--I had to repeat the entire thing in person. -The aesthetician who did my pedicure was fine in terms of service but I was very grossed out to find they RE-USE the little foam slippers for EVERY customer. They're just all sitting in a bucket behind the pedi chairs. -While I was seated to wait for my nails to be done, I was moved from chair to chair, not once but twice to make room for customers coming in for walk-in services (may I point out again that I had an appointment and they weren't even prepared for me, but were for other customers??) It turned out I was also waiting on the owner to have her lunch. -When I explained (again, should not have had to--communication between the employees seems to only be gossip) that I wanted a full set with gel polish, the owner vaguely gestured to the wall and said "pick colour" then left me sitting in the chair for about 10 more minutes while she went off to do a waxing job. -Sarah, the owner of this fine establishment, finally started my nails and while buffing them, managed to nick EVERY single cuticle and the skin surrounding the nail. I would react with a polite "ouch" and received no apology. Ten times in a row. -Finally I asked to double-check if the polish I'd chosen was indeed gel--because that's the service I asked for--and she said, clearly annoyed, "Oh, you don't want this one?" and left to retrieve a gel polish in a similar colour. -While curing my polish, she insisted that I must have done something under the UV light to disturb the nails and instead of redoing it or grabbing another lamp, she tsked and slopped on more polish, which looks ridiculous now. -Several times, she got up during my session to serve another customer. Funny, since I seemed to wait for her to finish up a lot of tasks but couldn't keep her attention during my (booked) time. -Finally, I reminded her I needed a brow wax, as I had previously booked (are we seeing a pattern here?) and I got that done, which I was actually happy with, and the only reason I even gave this place 2 stars. Problem is she said "for you, $77" for services that should not have cost more than $65 according to their price list. Reluctantly I handed over the money as I didn't feel like arguing over twelve bucks and wanted to get out of there after spending 2.5 hours in this hellhole. It was a miracle I had extra cash on me. Needless to say, I did not offer gratuity. TL;DR- Come for the stellar $5 eyebrow wax, skip everything else and spend the extra cash at a better nail salon like Polish'd downtown or Nail Story in Newmarket. It's worth it for not only the WAY better service but a much nicer atmosphere as well.
