Small Birthday Cake in a cup
David G.

This is a Bruster's which means the ice cream is consistently good. I got a delicious scoop of Birthday Cake and no complaints on the texture or flavor! However, service at this location was lacking. The young lady who took our order was literally taking bites of ice cream while talking to us, and my small seemed to be the same size as my friends regular, but we were charged different amounts. But this will still definitely hit the sweet spot in a pinch.

5 stars!! Let me tell you. This Brusters is tucked away off Lower Roswell Rd. I wasn't paying attention Sunday when we drove into drive thru. They were actually closed but took our order anyway. Strawberry Shortcake and Brownie sundae are our favs. She could have said they were closed and waved us off. When I got to the menu, I saw the hours. I apologized for coming in after closing. She said it was okay since they were still there. Of course, I gave a nice tip since I really appreciated it. She could have turned us away. Great service! Now let's discuss this Strawberry Shortcake. It was soo good. Most times they drown the pound cake in the strawberries and syrup to the point where the cake is soggy. She didn't do that. My pound cake was on one side and strawberries w juice next to it. The ice cream and whip cream were on top. When I got home, I was pleasantly surprised. I enjoy my food being separate and combining as I want. It's the little things!!

National Chain but feels like local

I normally like Burster's but this one is slightly off. Still very good but the combination of Product, Service and Value in not all there. On our last visit to Marietta, we decided to give the Grandson's a Bruster's Treat. In the end, they enjoyed the Treat but the visit turned into an ordeal. Could not commutate the order and it took three times to get it right. Very slow and not responsive to the customer. Value and pricing is set by corporate only takes into context RM Cost + Labor minus sales cost should equal a positive number but does not take into account the customer expectation of value. It's not there

We got tasked to bring an icecream cake to our Gigi's birthday party the day before so I was worried we would have to resort to a generic grocery store one. Brusters came though on timing AND they created the prettiest cake for us! I'm so impressed! Thank you Brusters team!

So fun!

Bruster's has been my main ice cream stop for years. It really does taste real! This location isn't my absolute favorite just because the parking lot is tight and awkward especially if the drive thru is busy. The exterior also just doesn't feel the cleanest. I almost want to powerwash their sidewalk for them lol. But all the bad out of the way, everything else is awesome. I love their ice cream, never have I ever been disappointed in the choices or quality. Always great to give their seasonal flavors a shot but their classic ones are awesome too. They make their waffle cones in house, and they're delicious. BYOB Thursdays is a fun treat for half off your banana split. There's just something for everyone here. I love to bring my roommate's dog and get her a pup cup. The seating situation is okay--a few benches but not enough for when it's busy in the warmer months. Workers are also super nice and I enjoy them.

Customer service at this location sucks! I would've over looked it but I was handed a lopsided scoop of ice cream on a cone. A kids cone at that when I ordered a regular cone. Whoever the employees were working this Friday evening need to just find another job. They don't care and it shows.

Ice cream! At least 20 solid flavors in addition to vanilla and chocolate. Purple Dinosaur sounds interesting, but I went with the White Turtle instead. Friendly service, but not much space for parking or eating though there is a drive-through. This is the first Brusters I've seen that wasn't a stand-alone building. They have the end space of a three-store building.

I've never had a bad experience at this Brusters. They have so many different flavors of ice cream, and I love trying a new one each time I visit. I highly recommend this Brusters!

But cakes from this shop are crowd-favorites! Everyone at my wedding raved about the cake, even months later people still brought it up. I highly recommend this business.

Jordan recommended Lush Cakery to my fiancee and me (our planner does not accept kickbacks, but instead passes on any discounts she may get on to us) and that is enough praise for me. My fiancee, through her own research, noticed that Lush Cakery has had a hand in a lot of nice weddings in Atlanta. She absolutely loves the look of Lush's cakes (she describes them as beautiful, fun, and creative). I asked Kat how many weddings she did last year and she told me, if I recall correctly, 185 (all by herself!). She doesn't plan on doing that many per year going forward, but she definitely has the experience and is well known in the Atlanta wedding community. Kat moved into a cute space just off Marietta Square a couple years ago. There's a retail space, open four days a week, and a tasting room, available by appointment only. The shop can also be booked for small events like bridal and baby showers. Kat was waiting for us promptly at our appointment time. My fiancee and I were accompanied by our planner for the tasting. The tasting room was quaint and charming. It reminded my fiancee of an attractive sitting room, like something you would see on HGTV. We got to know Kat and she got to know us. She let us swipe through cake designs on her iPad while talking to us about our wedding, our tastes/visions for our cake, and how our cake would align with our wedding overall. For example, we talked about the season of our wedding, whether it's going to be indoor or outdoor, etc. These kinds of things can affect the ingredients and flavors of our wedding cake. There was a menu at the table with Lush's most popular wedding cake flavors. We tasted the following six flavors: * Salted caramel * Amaretto white chocolate red raspberry * Triple chocolate hazelnut * Grand Marnier strawberries and cream * Cinnamon * Cream cheese pound with lemon curd Kat had the first five flavors in the list above ready to go on a plate for each of us. The last one was requested by my fiancee who was interested in trying the lemon curd after seeing it on the menu. My eyes lit up as I bit into these cakes. What impressed me most about them was actually not their flavor, but their consistency. Every single slice was perfectly fluffy and moist. They were tender and delicate with good crumb. Flavor-wise, they were sweet, but not too sweet. My favorite flavors were the salted caramel and the strawberries and cream. My fiancee's favorite flavors were the amaretto white chocolate red raspberry and the triple chocolate hazelnut. My fiancee thought both the strawberry and cinnamon tasted delicious, but were a little too simple for her tastes. The cream cheese pound cake with lemon curd was outstanding, but we agreed that we liked the lighter, less dense textures of the other cakes for our wedding cake. Everything we tried tasted great, so what it really came down to here was personal preference. We want a classic, elegant looking cake so Kat suggested a traditional three-tier round cake. We'll have it decorated with flowers from our florist, Julie Coffin of Unique Floral Expressions, who is one of the rock stars of the Atlanta wedding industry and whom Kat has worked many weddings with. We chose our cake and icing flavors, along with a fun design extra, and were quoted under $700 for our cake (tax and delivery included). The cake will serve 100. We'll have more than 100 guests, but there will be other dessert options too. Kat's quote is about $200 higher than another quote we recently received, so Lush is on the higher side. However, the other quote did not include an extra design element and the Lush quote also includes a "complimentary" anniversary tier a year after our wedding. A $150 non-refundable deposit is required to secure a date. We received Kat's proposal via email quickly after our meeting. My fiancee had a question and it didn't take long for Kat to respond. All in all, this was a wonderful experience. Now we just have to make a decision! Throughout our wedding planning process so far, this has turned out to be the most difficult decision yet.

Summary: Communication was fine. Cake wasn't…read more I ordered a cake for a birthday last month. Communication was fine. I had to wait to receive a call for decisions on orders(decoration/design/flavor). I'm personally more inclined to email for reasons that will get explained later. I choose to pick up my cake since I was in the relative area. We arranged to pick up the cake about halfway from our locations. Cake was really unsatisfactory. It was a vanilla cake with vanilla buttercream. Based off of me and my family who tried the cake, the cake was dry, dense and particularly bland for a vanilla cake. The icing was quite bitter due to colorants used and it was definitely a BUTTERcream(the balance felt off and the icing left a greasy feeling in the mouth). The combination off the icing and cake wasn't great. We ended up throwing the rest away because no one was going to eat it. The decor was simple. But I did see some open spaces in the piping and the base coat. Honestly wasn't that fond of the end result. So the flavor that I had requested was orange rosemary(it's not available as a flavor on the updated site)I had received the wrong flavor but due to me not being able to reference it since it was through phone call, I could only check through the website(it was down at the time so I had no way to access the flavor list). I had to use the way back machine to access the old list to verify. I did tell them that I had gotten the wrong flavor and they apologized and offered a discount for the next item I ordered. I declined. In general, I was disappointed. In the end, I received a cake I could've baked myself(Which I did end up doing. The birthday girl didn't even like the cake!). Kind of defeated the purpose of buying one. To be transparent, I spent around $200+ for a 6in cake. I hope that this was just an unfortunate experience I had. Shame really.

The young lady greeted me once I entered and was ready to help me. She answered a couple of questions I had about what items they had but I ultimately settled on an m&m cookie ($2.75) and a red velvet cupcake ($4). They do have some other things like cups and napkins for parties, flavored popcorn, and even some cookies that were being sold at a cheaper price. You can also place orders for custom items such as cupcakes and cakes as well. My husband enjoyed the cookie and said it was very fresh and full of m&m candy. He appreciated that the cookie wasn't overly sweet and said he'd definitely like to try some other things. I devoured my cupcake in one sitting and loved it! The cupcake itself was classic red velvet and wasn't overpowering with the cocoa flavor. The icing was delicious and creamy and also was overly sweet. Just a really good combo and I'll definitely be back!
