Good swings, a few other play features; shaded picnic benches. The bathroom was clean and appreciated. Nice to have water fountain and bottle filler too! While we were there, a small storm passed with some showers and tiny hail; we took shelter under the nearby bridge and washed the river burble by for a few minutes. Would gladly stop here again!

The trail is easier to go down than up, but the workout is worth every step for the stunning views at the top. Atmosphere : Going around sunrise is perfect. The sun isn't beating down on you. Plus the whole area feels peaceful and refreshing. The lake itself is stunning and truly worth the hike. Service: Rangers were super nice and helpful. Parking is easy to find, and GPS takes you directly there. You do need a permit $12 per person and timeslots fill up quickly, especially early in the morning, so plan ahead. Tips : Dogs are not allowed. Go early for cooler temps and smaller crowds. Bring water and good shoes the uphill is a workout! If you're in Glenwood, this hike is a must!

Concert opener and headliners were pretty good considering technical difficulties. It features an iconic gazebo, a bust of a Nobel Prize laureate, and notably has no restrooms at all (except during special events: porta-johns and janes). The grass is green and the people are friendly. There is a good coffee shop -- if you're into that -- a few steps away; there is a church -- if you're in need of that -- a block away; and, nice people everywhere. Everywhere. In terms of my specific first-hand experiences here, we were here for a special event. There were plenty of well-serviced porta-johns and janes and hand-washing stations. I found the water fountains (or bubblers, if you're from Boston) and made use of them. It rained a lil', I think. I personally love coming when it's snowing or when there is snow on the ground. In a clear night, you get the best view of the stars and sky. It's a hop skip and jump from Denver for a quick getaway, so I'm frequently here. There is no NO phone service, and please if coming in at night keep flashlights down to the ground as clothing is optional.

My husband and I just stayed two nights in the caboose for our anniversary. First impressions the caboose is adorable, but smells like the inside of a bong. Absolutely overwhelmingly rank. We opened all the doors and windows and used most of a bottle of febreeze we found under the sink to make it slightly more tolerable. Then when we pulled open the murphy bed we found someone else's dirty underwear. We let the attendant know, he apologized and told us he'd let his manager know and we should hear from her the next day. We watched him write a note for her. Heard absolutely nothing. No follow up whatsoever. We talked to another employee when we were checking out to let him know we left a pile of someone else's dirty laundry on the stoop and his response was "f***, I keep telling those guys they have to clean in there." Seriously not impressed for a $500 stay. On top of that the provided linens are one thin blanket, threadbare sheets and the saddest pillows you've ever slept on. I get that it's a rustic setting, but that's no excuse for a dirty, smelly room and cheapskate bedding. It was just gross.

Surrounding the park there are walking and bike paths with a river nearby should you decide to try your luck at fishing.
