They recently did the place up and expanded into the premises next door; now they have a shiny new deli and a comfy sit-down/cafe area. My only real issue with this place is that I have gone in there a number of times looking for something only to find that they have run out or just don't stock it. For example. they sell hotdogs but they don't stock hotdog buns at all.

Their deli is very impressive, their wraps, sandwiches, salads are very fresh and good value. They also make fresh pizzas, but I haven't tried them yet. They have an ATM at the back of the store, but this is often out of service, but there is an outdoor ATM just up the road a little (a minute's walk or less). They've got groceries, off-license, newspapers/magazines, lottery, almost anything you could want, but I wouldn't do a full weekly shop here! They are open 24 hours, which adds a star for me!

Very good Polish beer 5,6% ~€2.60, where it normally costs €1.70. And that applied to all beers. Thankfully, they had sale on Heineken (3,8%) 6 cans for €8. If not that, I'd have walked to next shop don't matter how far. I actually remembered my good acquaintance's words - spar is for rich people, buddy. I'm not rich enough :( Even it's a standard, but they also have ATM inside.

The deli counter is wonderful here. You can get soups, salads, wraps, sandwiches and even freshly made-to-order pizzas! It's great for dropping down and grabbing a bottle of wine or spirits after work, they have over 20 wines that I can think of off hand. If you're not one for wines, they have over 25 kinds of both domestic and imported beers, chilling and waiting to be taken home. The hours are SUPER convenient, I'm pretty sure it opens at 8 and closes a little past 9 Monday through Saturday. It's nice to have a local shop, reasonably prices with a good selection so close to home. It's even better on nights when I forget to take out something for dinner!

As a shop it's not a whole lot different to any other Spar. In other words, it's overpriced, especially when it comes to sandwiches and rolls. You could pay nearly a fiver for a BLT, which is robbery in my opinion. That said, this store is really, really handy because it's open constantly. When it's all hours of the morning and you are starving but don't want chippy food, it's a great place to pop into to stock up. But I wouldn't tend to frequent it much otherwise because it's too dear and there is a Tesco nearby that is a whole lot cheaper. The take away coffee here isn't nice either. The staff are great though - helpful and friendly, even when dealing with intoxicated punters!

I told him all he needs to do is place the card on the card reader and check if the balance is nil. It only takes a couple of seconds and he literally shouted at me 'NO', I won't do this'. I am nearly 40 and this is my first complaint in my life, so this was really bad.

I won 4 euros on the lotto and had another 4 euros to play! I am entitled to claim the cash but wanted to trade my winnings for my 4 euros worth new ticket that I wanted to play! A white middle age balding man with no manners and aggression issues took my tickets, cut me off with what I "meant to say" and when I re-asserted myself by re-asking for a trade off, he threw my new ticket on the counter at me in an aggressive manner and said "der ya go now, day day!!" Unbelievable!!! Surprised he has a job and is the reason for one star and no revisits! A great tag line for Spar!! "Spar, we charge for convenience shopping but throw in rudeness for free!". Stay clear of hearts corner Spar and you won't go wrong! Oh, Mr Rude also had no Spar tee shirt on which leads me to believe he IS the manager!! There you have it folks, they trade produce and insults for cash!!

This Number 1 Shop is not really number 1 in my eyes! It's fine for milk, coffee to go, newspapers…read moreand magazines but not really for much else. All the food is too expensive - I guess it's meant to be a convenience store so they hike up the prices. A tin of tuna costs nearly double what it would in Tesco down the road. There is a cold food/sandwich counter as well and everything always looks awful. The coleslaw seems like it's been there for weeks. They do some frozen food too but again, it's dearer than it would be in other shops. Ditto with wine. So get your basics here if you must - but be careful of the cost.
