I…read morefound out about Lakefront Chiropractic from a coworker and I am so happy that she told me about them. Dr. Ethen looks at each person as an individual and develops a treatment plan that is specific to their needs. My coworker and I have discussed what kind of adjustments and therapy we get there, and they are very different because our issues are different. Many of the chiropractors I had gone to before seemed to have a "routine" that they did on everyone no matter what their physical state is. I've been seeing Dr. Ethen for over a year for regular treatments of some chronic issues and he has been a big help with those. Earlier this year, I had an injury to my knee during a practice. After visiting my general doctor and being sent to Illinois Bone and Joint Institute, I was still having issues and it dawned on me that Dr. Ethen knows a lot about sports injuries and provides physical therapy, so I went to see him about my knee. He was able to take me through the healing process and physical therapy that was sports specific. It is several months later and my sprained MCL is healed and I'm back to 100%! He also gave me ongoing training exercises to improve my speed and agility. If you want to feel better, go see Dr. Ethen!

I've been suffering with back pain and sciatic pain for the better part of two years. I lived in…read morecomplete agony every day. And every day, I could feel it getting worse. I had to have a microdiscectomy in order to remove some bulging disc from my spine. Not more than two weeks afterward, all my pain had returned and was once more getting worse. I started just sending out some emails to any place that said they did back PT as well as deep-tissue massage and chiropractic work. Dr. Lauren Schneider was the first one to get back to me with a phone call. I liked her right off the bat. She said that she wanted to try a program of PT and some chiropractic work that would either work or not work. She just wanted four weeks to see how it went. She further stated that if she didn't get the expected results, she would turn me loose to seek relief elsewhere. With that in mind, I decided to give it shot and boy am I glad I did! Not only did Dr. Schneider listen to me quote websites and my pitiful online research, she used what I'd read to help me understand what she wanted to do. She was very patient with me, listened to all of my questions and gave me more information than I thought was possible. She humored me by letting me email her a pre-visit "pain log" so that she could know what my day-to-day was like and then discuss what I was going through. This was a very wonderful way for the two of us to be on the same page with each visit. She's tough. Don't mistake her for a pushover. Very early on, I came in several times complaining of muscle soreness due to the PT she had me doing throughout the days and she said "I don't care. We can deal with muscle soreness. Keep doing your PT." At first, I thought this was a very callous response, but I thought to myself "Four weeks. She asked for four weeks, so do your PT." Within two weeks, there was noticeable improvement in my sciatic pain as well as back pain. With the PT she had me doing, the once/week chiropractic adjustments, and the deep tissue massage every other week, I feel like we've almost gotten this taken care of. Laura, who is her massage therapist, is of the same caliber as Dr. Schneider. She has great hands, superb sense of pressure, and also listens just as well as Dr. S. You're definitely in good hands with Laura. I'm so glad I gave these two a shot. After my surgery, and during a follow-up with my surgeon, I reported to him that my pain was back as bad as ever and getting worse. He brought me to tears with his cold, callous responses. I thought that I was going to have to live in pain for the rest of my life. Dr. Schneider & Laura of North Shore Natural Medicine have really changed my day-to-day quality of life and I am eternally grateful for their efforts, patience, and willingness to work with me.

I assume most chiropractic patients are hurting, and pretty desperate for solutions. I just can't agree with the cost. So did he fix me? NO , but the massages were helpful at the time. Many of his reviews indicate very long term clients. Did anyone actually get cured or just get caught in the long term care program? Buyer beware is my free advice. Time is itself a great healer.

Life-Changing Experience with Dr. Josh: A Must-Read for Those Seeking True Relief…read more I rarely leave reviews, but Dr. Josh has truly changed my life, and I feel compelled to share my experience. After struggling with spina bifida and a self-induced spinal fusion for 20 years, along with countless physical therapy sessions, muscle relaxers, painkillers, and various back massage devices, I finally found relief with Dr. Josh. In just one week, he provided an honest diagnosis of my core issue, which surprisingly had little to do with my back. He identified the root causes related to my mouth breathing and an old ankle injury, simply by observing how I sit. I am now in my third month with Dr. Josh, and for the past 10 out of 12 weeks, I haven't even thought about my back pain. His targeted exercises have made a genuine, visible difference within days. Dr. Josh's understanding of the human body's core issues and his ability to provide precise, effective exercises is unparalleled. If he told me to run through a wall, I would do it without hesitation (of course, using the proper techniques he taught me). I highly recommend Dr. Josh to anyone seeking real, lasting relief. I'll start by saying over the past decade, I've been to a few chiropractors with limited benefit and after the first couple appointments, would dread going and wasting the time/money, feeling fairly sure the "treatment" was getting me nowhere. The difference can be summed up by the fact that I look forward to appointments w/ Dr. Akin. I strained my back showing snow in Feb 2021, saw a couple of chiros, a couple PTs, had X-rays and an MRI -- nothing was helping. I coincidentally heard about Dr. Akin from a friend of a friend and started w/ him in March 2022. Our first appointment was enlightening: So many things not even related to my back that he picked up on that had been causing mild discomfort for years; for me, a locked up ankle that was causing tightness on that same hip and pain in the opposite heel and knee. A lot of drs will tell you low back pain is a result of a weak core. While that's true, Dr. Akin's approach to building the core is unlike anything I've done or seen on websites, social media/bloggers, etc. If you've been struggling with back pain for a while and the big box chiros/sport med practices aren't getting you anywhere, you owe it to yourself to call Chicago Chiropractic.

I was seriously amazed that such small, gentle, non-invasive adjustments could make such a big difference, and after just the first week! My parents and my sister see Dr. Rick too and we joke that he's part magician, part chiropractor. AMAZING! I'd seen several other chiropractors, physical therapists, and massage therapists previously, but no matter what we tried or how many appointments I had, it only gave me temporary relief. Dr. Rick is focused on overall health and long-term results, he doesn't just stick a band-aid on the problem so it holds until the next appointment. I could never stick to the home exercises and stretches I got in physical therapy. Dr. Rick has given me simple, 10-second stretches and exercises that can be done anywhere that are starting to become like a daily habit and I actually want to do them! Dr. Rick is efficient and appointments are fast and easy, but he always makes time to answer whatever questions I have. Not only has my shoulder pain improved, but other small aches and pains like headaches have gone away and my posture is getting so much better. Dr. Rick explains WHY he is doing certain things so I can better understand what's going on with my body, which then gives me more motivation to do things like working on my posture daily. Dr. Rick put together an affordable treatment plan so I could continue seeing him after I maxed out on chiropractor appointments that my insurance would cover. In sum, Dr. Rick is an amazing, skilled, intuitive, healing chiropractor (and a great person) and I highly recommend him!

I started seeing him when he wasn't in my insurance network (also not one to like overpaying), because I was in such severe pain from a gym injury, and the endless sessions I have with another chiropractor were not getting me any relief. I'm a strong believer that energy transcends through touch , and he is a natural healer. Yes he is a doctor, he knows the human anatomy , he has the latest techniques , he has a lovely office .... but what's much harder to find in a healthcare provider is a genuine desire to maKe people feel better. He is so attentive. He will try 85 ways to make you feel better , and if it doesn't work he will try the 86th with no loss of enthusiasm. His true greatness is in his humble demeanor. Some chiropractors will act like it's beneath them to massage their patients , but Sunil's ego comes second to doing whatever will help the patient. Lastly , I feel completely at ease with our casual relationship. Sometimes I feel amazing , and stop coming for periods of time. He never stalks me into filling his books. In short - he is amazing. This practice doesn't feel like a business, it feels like a sanctuary.
