Dr. Ethen looks at each person as an individual and develops a treatment plan that is specific to their needs. My coworker and I have discussed what kind of adjustments and therapy we get there, and they are very different because our issues are different. Many of the chiropractors I had gone to before seemed to have a "routine" that they did on everyone no matter what their physical state is. I've been seeing Dr. Ethen for over a year for regular treatments of some chronic issues and he has been a big help with those. Earlier this year, I had an injury to my knee during a practice. After visiting my general doctor and being sent to Illinois Bone and Joint Institute, I was still having issues and it dawned on me that Dr. Ethen knows a lot about sports injuries and provides physical therapy, so I went to see him about my knee. He was able to take me through the healing process and physical therapy that was sports specific. It is several months later and my sprained MCL is healed and I'm back to 100%! I strained my back showing snow in Feb 2021, saw a couple of chiros, a couple PTs, had X-rays and an MRI -- nothing was helping. I coincidentally heard about Dr. Akin from a friend of a friend and started w/ him in March 2022. Our first appointment was enlightening: So many things not even related to my back that he picked up on that had been causing mild discomfort for years; for me, a locked up ankle that was causing tightness on that same hip and pain in the opposite heel and knee.
