I recently had some lypo and a mastopexy. The discomfort, bruising and slow healing, had me seek out Lymphatic drainage massage. I thank my lucky stars on finding Stephanie. She has healing hands!! I compete as a ballroom dancer. While I was training for a competition I got a sharp extreme pain in my ribs. It hurt so bad I couldn't move. I have been seeing stephanie for about 6 weeks for the lymphatic massage. I was skeptical about going. I've had these massages before and they normally leave me in side Michigan pain. My first day seeing Stephanie she had visuals of the lymphatic system on her office wall and began explaining them to me (how the lymphatic system works, how the massage is done. I had so many questions and she was willing and able to ease my mind and actually enjoy the massages. If you're reading this, then someone has told you that you need lymphatic drainage massage. You do, and you'll learn the health benefits are life-changing. I've been seeing Darek for almost two years and I can't begin to list the all of the positives health benefits I've noticed. I was drawn to his practice after seeing a 'traditional' lymphatic massage specialist in a physical therapy office in the summer of 2016. (I had just finished radiation treatments and my plastic surgeon --not the radiation oncologist and not the regular surgeon-- recommended lymphatic massage pro-actively. Thank god he did!) The physical therapist/MLD barely touched me, and talked mostly of all the changes and restrictions I would begin to experience. I didn't HAVE any of the symptoms yet, but she led me to believe I would (it was very doom and gloom). I quickly found Darek (who was also recommended by the plastic surgeon) and found a WORLD OF DIFFERENCE. Not only have I not had any of the symptoms that were hanging over my head, Darek and I have consistently worked together to address my on-going health concerns. We have worked on my surgery and radiation site (the scar is dramatically improved, in texture and in appearance and the skin is beautiful again), my left arm for any lymph issues, my right shoulder (after a labrum repair-- I can now play tennis again, pain free!), my lower back, tight hips muscles, and more. We've even used lymphatic massage to shorten a sinus infection and to take down swelling and pain after an accident. It's nothing short of amazing. Darek combines, I believe, the best of lymphatic massage (which is a very gentle, even pressure of pump and release for the lymph glands) with more traditional massage to work out the kinks and knots. If I can give zero stars, I would. I had scheduled my liposuction procedure since March 2021. I had surgery 8/3. I had got a hold of someone back in March and they said they will get back to me regarding packages for post op lymphatic drainage massages. I never heard anything back. I would call the phone number listed and there was never an answer and a voicemail box full. I just moved to Lake County exactly a year ago. There are really no locations in the area where they offer post op care for liposuction. I walked in Tuesday 8/16 because I really need a lymphatic drainage massage being 18 days post. I was desperate. The owner scheduled me for today Saturday 8/21 for 12:45 pm. I left my information and he set my $100 massage scheduled. I walk in and Stephanie says her boss had double booked her to come back. I had someone drive me 40 min from my home for this massage. I am swollen and in discomfort in need of a massage. I've had the worst experience with this location. I should've known better when they never returned my phone call in the first place. read more

Relief! You can stop searching for what both your body and mind craves; relief! I have a stressful job, chronic pain, Diabetes, lymphedema, and a host of issues that have turned my body against me.   I have a team of doctor specialists who sometimes prescribe, sometimes refer me to other specialists, and sometimes do nothing at all to aid in my care. I have spent weeks in physical therapy at hospitals for compression therapy. I have had varying success in reducing the swelling, and a firm distaste for the process and lack of compassion. I have sourced and seen several reputable physical therapy locations for assistance and treatment and my feelings of the football coach / cheerleader mentality is off putting at best.  AND - Yes, I can do it... I have been to several spas, massage therapy, and float therapy.  I love the idea of being pampered to feel better but every single time the treatment left my poor body battered and feeling far worse than before I arrived. So, I searched... I know I needed treatment which included relief for my swollen legs and feet at the very least. My first appointment with Darek was June 15 (payment by cash, Venmo, or personal check, only) and sadly due to previous experiences elsewhere, my expectations were not high. I prayed that if I couldn't feel better, at least I hope to feel no worse. On a Saturday, the office building was quiet, the office was also quiet. Darek greeted me, I filled out the paperwork, and off we go to the treatment room.  I'm instructed to undress to my level of comfort (thank you) and lay on the table under the sheet. With bolsters under my head and knees, the treatment begins with, "So, are you going to tell me a story"?  (Kind smile) So begins my hour treatment.  Immediately I can tell the difference in touch to my train wrecked carcass and it surprises me.  There is no greasy oil, sloppy lotion, trigger point agony, there is only calming firm touch. I'm quiet, not really knowing what to expect but I'm able to relax and release the breath I didn't know I was holding.  With very even gentle, pump and release for the lymph glands combined with massage to work out my stress knots I've accumulated, the treatment went well. Within 24 hours I had unexpected and complete pain relief in my hips and knees. I don't know if this is possible for everyone, but it happened for me and no one was more surprised.  It's now 48 hours after my second appointment.  My treatment this time was not only therapeutic massage but also more conversational.  We discussed ideas of overall healing and what we put into our bodies. This was no lecture, it was conversation between two people working together to improve my quality of life.  Having a team of specialists to keep me looking as good as I do, I've heard most everything, take more pills, exercise more, everyone is under stress... blah, blah, blah. This conversation was getting to the heart of what I already know to be true for me and my well being.  It gave me plenty to consider. How do I sum up 2 hours of treatment into a glowing review?  I don't really know. What I do know:  I'm feeling some better, I'm walking better, and I'm standing taller.  I have done additional research after my 2nd appt and have a personal plan which I will try to build on for several weeks. I have a 3rd appointment. My bottom line: I would highly recommend Darek to anyone needing more than a pamper.  I would highly recommend to anyone feeling fragile due to constant pain.
