Kemper Meadow Family Dentistry - Dr's. Kulwin, Maric and team!

Kemper Meadow Family Dentistry

I've been a patient at Kemper Meadow for years, going back to the previous owner. My experience…read morewith my care and working with office personnel has been good up until this morning. I had to call and cancel a cleaning because of an illness and intended to reschedule. However, before I could ask for a new appointment, I was told that since it was my third cancellation going back to last year, I'd have to call for a same day appointment requiring daily calls until there was availability. Alternatively, I could give them a deposit assuming the intent is to ensure I show up. I've NEVER been a no show and the implication is insulting. I expressed my opinion and asked that it be shared with Dr. Kulwin.

The Dr. & the dental hygienist in the back area are by far the friendliest set of professionals I've ever met. I had a routine cleaning visit today & I was not informed about any outstanding balance for a retainer until I was checking out from my appointment today. I was unaware that there was a charge for anything related to the retainer, as I had not been reminded of it during my previous visits, despite having been to the office three times since August 2024. In fact, when I went to check out after my appointment today, I was told I had a balance of over $300, which was a complete surprise to me. Additionally, I was given the retainer by the doctor to try on after my evaluation, to ensure that my teeth had not shifted. At the time, I was not made aware that there would be any cost associated with this retainer. I left the office still wearing it, only to be told at the checkout that I needed to pay for it immediately or return it. I was deeply embarrassed and humiliated when another patient, a white customer, found the situation amusing and openly laughed at me. This made the experience even more uncomfortable and distressing. I also found it deeply unprofessional that I was told I had to give back the retainer that was in my mouth--filled with saliva--if I could not pay for it. I did so, but I was left feeling degraded and disrespected. When I called back to discuss the situation and express my dissatisfaction, the person I spoke with told me that it "doesn't matter" that I didn't take the retainer home, as it had been made for me, and that the charge would not be removed from my account. This response felt dismissive and unhelpful, and I am left feeling that my concerns were not taken seriously. I want to make it clear that I have no issue paying for any legitimate charges I owe. I even offered to make a payment towards the balance today using my HSA card and was denied. However, the way I was treated at checkout was unprofessional and unacceptable. It is disheartening to feel as though I was subjected to discriminatory treatment, as I do not believe this would have occurred had I been a white customer. I was humiliated and embarrassed. I've worked in the Health Insurance Industry for over 26 years & never in my life have seen a retainer repossessed from out of someone's mouth. Unacceptable!!

This review is LONG overdue!!! I'm so happy I found this office. First and foremost, the whole…read morestaff is amazing. I was left with a great first impression especially from Shiloh and Dr.Brock. During my very first an appointment, Dr.Brock noticed that i had very dry lips and i explained that was i on Accutane and the it was horrible trying to find something that worked. He told me about this brand called "LanoLips" and even Amazon primed my very first one to my address, which i received on 2 days time. He quite literally saved my lips lol they were breaking bad. Kind, professional and exceptional office and staff!

It resulted in Bell's palsy- not a single care from the dentist and after he told me "ummm I need to go research this" I knew I was in trouble. Almost a full year and I'm not 100% healed. After he gave me a bs prescription- no more follow ups to see how I'm doing, no further instructions on what to do. Only called to collect money. So I've racked up bills from my PCP, a new dentist and even an ENT just to prove it wasn't caused by my ears. I've racked up THOUSANDS in dentist/medical bills due to their lack of care. DO NOT EVER GO TO TWIN DENTAL!!! Im still being harassed for a $60 payment when they have already collected $400 from me and $500 from my insurance TO PULL ONE TOOTH!! They didnt even give me pain meds, not even a low dose one until i was in so much pain. And instead of calling it to the pharmacy- they told me i had 20 minutes to get it from their office aa they close early on friidays. Never in my life have i ever paid that much for an extraction. Or had a dentist who was etremely nonchalant about what HE had done!!(Even when i didnt have a job/insurance I only paid $160 and the emergency dentist on a friday at 7pm pulled it.) i will however, send them all my bills for the year of follow up ive had to deal with for their mistake. I have included a picture from the day before the procedure - the day of, the day after, a pic when i was being weened off the medication after 6 month of high dose steroids (due to the dentist prescribing a an extreme low dose that did nothing) and two additional pictures from this year 4 months post steroids two more teeth were also shattered due to the steroids and so I was deathly scared of getting those pulled, until this morning. I had no idea that a dentist office could be caring and comforting. But shoutout to Meier dental and Cincinnati oral surgeons for extracting 3 teeth (the two shattered and my last wisdom) under anesthesia, prescribed me a pill before I went in, had antibiotics on order, Tylenol 3 on order for pain. Sent me home with an ice pack and enough gauze to last a life time. My total out of pocket $600. Insane difference. These people took my life from me for almost a year. Due to being on steroids gained ao much water weight I had Charlie horses when I walked!, I also had high blood pressure, pre diabetic along with absolutely no energy and not being able to breathe all due to the side effects of the steroids I had to take to fix what THEY did. SO BEWARE OF TWIN DENTAL. Or at least if you find anything suspicious or wrong speak to a malpractice attorney IMMEDIATELY
