Dr. Gavin reviewed my x-rays, asked numerous questions and then gave me an exam. Then he surprised me with, "did they tell you that you also have a protruding L5, which is likely contributing to much of your pain?" Wow! No they hadn't, but in later appointments my PT said he was correct. The bottom line is, I needed help walking in and was in great pain, but walked out on my own nearly pain free. Since that time I have had a couple follow-ups and am now nearly pain free. Thank you to my friends for recommending him and to Dr. Gavin for helping me. By the way. The last time I went in, Dr. Gavin was out, so I saw another doctor that he had mentored. And oh my, he was wonderful too. Good teacher, good student.

Their office is conveniently located near my house and right across the street from the Grasslands Kroger and Blockbuster. It's not a huge office, but it's clean and inviting and they have a coffee/tea maker and sweet treats in the lobby. On my first visit I was warmly welcomed and given a free goody bag with a mug, candy and some BioFreeze samples. After filling out a thorough new patient form I met with the chiropractor who asked lots of questions and told me what I could expect during treatment. Then he took 2 x-rays of my back. The receptionist is very nice and made me feel welcome every time I walked through the door. Dr. Meininger is also really nice and always made pleasant conversation as he adjusted my back. When I arrived early for my appointment a few times, the receptionist let me sit in the massage chair in their therapy area while I got to watch a DVD on their flat screen TV (instead of waiting in the lobby). Hopefully my back pain won't return, but if it does I know where to go!

They always greet you with a smile, and you're practically on a first-name basis with them by the time your first visit is over. But yeah, I love these guys, because they seem to honestly love their patients. This is not your "typical" chiropractic practice. This is orthospinology. No wrenching about of your limbs. No snap, crackle, and pop. Just a geometric approach at fixing things from the top down. You can be sure I raised an eyebrow at the methodology at first, but it very clearly has worked on me. A whole lot of pain and discomfort prompted my visit. I've had the good fortune to work with Dr. Neal. Dr. Neal flat out said his goal was to get me to a place where I no longer had to come back. The staff is all very nice, and helpful, I never have a problem with getting an appointment when I need it or worrying about a mix up with my information at the front desk. There's never a long wait to see the DR or the massage therapists like in some practices. The usual visit goes like this: I'm greeted right away, step into a room for a really good massage, and next enjoy some of Dr Alex's own blend of tea or a glass of water just before I see the DR for an adjustment. Depending on my reason for a visit, I may also receive either cupping, acupuncture, or some kind of stretching or muscle stimulation therapy (I don't know the technical terms for everything). I'm a true believer in acupuncture, as it was something that I found very useful while living in Illinois, to help me with various issues. It is really hard to find a DR here that does both chiropractic and acupuncture! Thank you Dr. Alex! P.S. Ask for the tea, with honey...Mmm!
