First of all, the main pool is simply not deep enough at either end. The first few feet of your length will be awkward as it's hard to avoid your feet touching the bottom.
Second of all it is FAR too crowded. There's no control given to the amount of people in the water. No one can really use this pool to train because you are constantly avoiding other swimmers. I have an arm span of almost 6 feet, and when I am trying my hardest to do full, wide strokes it's virtually impossible when there are other people passing by. Even in the slow and fast lanes there's not enough space.
Third, it's mainly old people, and they are not there to swim. They are there to gossip and very slowly walk through the water while moving their arms a little bit. This is not swimming! And for people who are there to properly train it's very, very annoying.
The changing rooms are always filled with parents who cannot allow their children to do anything for themselves. When I step out of the pool and into the shower rooms it is often filled with fully-clothed parents who are bathing their children. This is a very odd practice and evidence of society's inability to let children use their own judgement and faculties and sheltering them as much as possible.
There is a spa and steam room, but I have never used them. The changing rooms are old and aged and need revamping. read more
