Anyway, this was the only place in Long Beach opened later than other places (6pm close time) and so I called and booked and drove there. Parked on the residential street & walked over. I got greeted by Sapana (spelling?) who was working on someone else's eyebrows (good job, btw) and I signed in and sat down. A lady was relaxed & asleep in front of me on one of the booth chairs! Good sign, I guess. lol! After she finished with the young teen, I got a waxed by her and she did a great job! I already forgot if it was painful! She's that good. Not sugar wax but strips. It was very warm so brace yourselves. She did such a good job, she didn't have to tweeze anything. I exfoliated, yesterday, before coming so I guess that's good. Finished in less than 30 min. And I was considering getting my eyelashes done for the first time... the ladies convinced me it was worth it and so I got it done with Aysha (spelling?) and she was pleasant and we carried on great conversation. I have thicker brows (never really got into the plucking phase), that sometimes look like they're not related. I know they're never going to truly look like twins, sisters is nice, but my gosh they often look like distant cousins. Because of this, I struggle to draw them darker when I want to appear a lil fancier. I need good lines to guide me. Sabi understands. That woman takes her thread to them like she's spent her life with my brows specifically, and suddenly they're sisters. I could never. She's mentioned tinting, but says I don't necessarily need it because they're nice as they are too. I can respect that. She'll even get rid of all those little hairs around your lip that make makeup application less smooth.

This was my first experience with lash extensions and Erika's website put me at ease about the process. She had detailed FAQs about the application and the aftercare. I really appreciated knowing what to expect. On my first "Full Set of Lashes-New Client" appointment day, your eyes are closed for 3.whole.hours, so if you don't have a clue about what's going on it can be unsettling. Erika made sure to explain what she was doing, where she was in the process, and what different sounds were. No one wants to think they hear scissors near their lashes! Ha! That's what her tweezers sounded like! There was no "lash style book" or option to select your preferences when you schedule, so I recommend bring inspiration photos, so she can talk you through them. :) She also will respond promptly to e-mails with ANY lash/scheduling questions. The first visit I chose something really natural , but by the second visit we had discovered I prefer a bit more feathery and bold. She's right...they almost "bloom" in the 2nd and 3rd week; that's when your lash extensions shine! Her studio is tiny, but has a very clean, warm, and minimal vibe. You're able to get cozy with fresh sheets and blanket for that coveted "lash nap" or mini "therapy sesh" with Erika. HAHAH. Sola Studios has a lot of other independent beauty/hair/nails/spa studios, so you could book a total self care day! Parking is free and plentiful. I started with the cream of the crop of lash studios in Nashville! I tried another place ONCE and I've decided if I have lashes, I'm going to Erika. What do they always say, "Ya get what you pay for!" -Beautiful and clean private one-on-one studio (Some studios throw you in a large room with other customers and you hear obnoxious conversations and/or snoring-ha!) -A "welcome" goodie bag with lash cleanser, cleansing brush, & spoolie brushes -Dynamic, Natural Looking Lashes that people will admire and ask "Honey, are those your lashes?!
