I did more research and decided to contact Marija, (she goes by Maria too). She is very responsive. We spoke about availability, pricing and the Do's and Don't before the appointment. Initially I made the appointment for a consultation. The consultation turned into, me actually getting my brows done by Maria. She used numbing cream for about 10-15 minutes. She drew where my eyebrows were going to be. There is also measuring tools she uses and an app for symmetry. After we decided on the look of the brows, she started with my "problem" brow. After she was done with it, she handed me the mirror. I could not believe how real the hairs looked. I was in love. It is a bit painful but tolerable. She is very patient, and very professional. Her office is private and there is a couch where, if you bring someone for support, they can sit, watch and talk to you. The process took about an hour or so. After, she gives you instructions for brow care, including wipies, and a cream. My brows looked great. After about a year, I decided to go and get a touch up, mainly because I wanted them a bit thicker. I have recommended my sister and a few friends who have recommended family members and friends. I spent lots of time researching different microblading artists. Being that this is a semi permanent treatment I wanted to make sure my eyebrows were in good hands. After reading the great reviews about Marja at Brows Art I called to schedule an appointment. Marja asked for a photo of my eyebrows so she could evaluate if I was a good candidate for microblading. She determined that I was and then gave me very careful instructions on how to prepare. Maria is very organized and made sure I had proper preparation instructions, and confirmed the appointment beforehand. When I arrived at her studio I was impressed. There was plenty of parking. The studio is very clean. She also adheres to Covid standards requiring masks etc. there lots of hand sanitizer around. Also, only one client there at a time. Maria takes her time measuring, comparing, making sure that everything is perfect. She also makes sure that the area is adequately numb to avoid feeling any pain from the procedure. Where to even start!? Marija is FABULOUS!!!!!!! From the moment I called, she was very prompt in responding, we discussed my goals as far as the final results and she requested I send her photos of my brows. Within minutes, she shared an image of a sketch with where my brows can be, how they will look cleaner and more even. We scheduled for that same week and she promptly sent me instructions for prior to my appointment, along with aftercare. No caffeine, blood thinners 24 hours before the appointment, and no skin treatments or sun exposure for about 1 week prior. Appointment was confirmed the day before, which is always great to have a reminder, and it shows how much she respects her customers' time. She offered the highly convenient contactless payment options that were provided with the appointment confirmation, which allows time enough to get familiarized with whatever platform you bank with or chose. The day of the appointment, from the moment of walking in, Marija showed me where the sanitizer was located and promptly put on some numbing cream so it could kick in by the time she was to start. There was a questionnaire to fill out with some related questions and once done, she showed me to the work-station. Marija was so friendly and accommodating all through my appointment! She has a great personality, is funny and honest. At times the procedure can bother a bit but it was not unbearable in any way. She was VERY thorough and detail-oriented throughout the whole appointment. She let me see the progress in a mirror and gathered my input at every chance. I was referred to Maria by my best friend for microblading services. I've been wanting to do this for some time since I've been temporarily tinting my eyebrows for several months. I looked into several local, highly rated, certified professionals to do this but I'm also a big fan of word of mouth recommendations. Side note: Maria told me during my service that's she does not advertise and all of her clients are by word of moth recommendations - she's done over 5,000 eyebrows so that's super legit in my book. I contacted Maria through Instagram and she promptly sent me a text message with pricing and schedule availability. Maria was very thorough and provided me with all the information I needed for my appointment before my session. When I arrived Maria greeted me and had me fill out paperwork while she applied numbing cream to my face. She made sure I was comfortable as she drew on the lines where she was going to "microblade" using all kinds of tools and a cool app on her phone to ensure that my new eyebrows would be even with my face. The entire process took about an hour and a half or so. It didn't hurt very much but I have fair skin and she said that the numbing cream worked better on thinner skin so I didn't feel much pain. My eyebrows were super dark initially, which she said is normal, but they did fade over time. I did need to return for a touch up on one eyebrow which she did mention may happen depending on how my skin held the ink after the healing period. It's been about 4 months since my follow up service and my eyebrows faded perfectly to match my hair and skin tone. They look super natural but also very full. Maria was very understanding that I wanted natural looking eyebrows, not the drawn in "powder brows" look that is currently all the rage. (Remember... fads fade!) I continuously get several compliments about my eyebrows and I'm definitely going to return for any future touch up needs or permanent makeup services. I have to share my unfavorable experience. I got a touch up, and I decided afterward that I would like more strokes added to the front of my eyebrow so that it had the same fullness as the other eyebrow. Maria consented to adding the few details; however, an emergency came up and I could not make it to the new appointment scheduled. I attempted to contact her to reschedule. I found Marija after some online research. I'd never had my eyebrows microbladed before, but co-workers and other family members did tell me about good and bad experiences they'd had. I was impressed by Marija's numerous google reviews and the few Yelp ones were also excellent. Her location is also convenient in West Boca. Marija was able to see me within a week of contacting her for a late afternoon appt. She did a wonderful job making my brows symmetrical, one side is naturally a little higher than the other and I could never figure out how to even them out with pencil or brow powder! She uses the "wet" method of healing and will give you the antibacterial ointment to put on the first several days. I did go back for a touch-up 6 weeks later because I wanted my brows a little thicker. The cost is super competitive $300 for the initial microblading and $100 for the touch-up, CASH only. Not happy about the follow-up fee. Usually tattoo or permanent makeup services do not charge a fee for the follow up apt because the touch up is always needed after the initial work.
