I like my face a lot more these days, so I try to take better care of it. That includes keeping up with my brows when I can. At $10 for a threading, it's affordable. I come in every couple months or so, usually right before a special event when I want to impress. I've been coming for a couple years or so and I've only been turned away once when they were too busy to accommodate. Otherwise, it's mostly walk-in and usually I don't have to wait at all. If there is a wait, it's only a few minutes at most, at least when I've popped in on a Friday evening or a Saturday or Sunday afternoon. You can call ahead to get an idea of how many people would be before you. Some of the employees take a little more care and spend a little more time getting your brows in shape than others, but I've never had a bad experience. I like the results of threading so much more than waxing, but that's an option too! read more

New year new brows! Just kidding, just a touch up by the fabulous Shona. She's there everyday except Sundays and Wednesday and she is must see. She listens to your wants and needs. I can't make it in every three to four weeks like a should, so when I come in I always look like a woolly mammoth. Shona has the perfect eye to fix, trim, wax and thread to perfection. All in ten minutes or less. Weekdays are less busy but anytime you can get in to see her, you definitely should! Another mention, it's cash only!! I have been going to Benita for years and have never had any issues. I do full leg wax and once in a while I get my eyebrows done. However, because I am so picky I do my own eyebrows most of the time to avoid any issues. Over the years Benita has always had a smile on her face as she welcomes you in and she ALWAYS takes her time. When I'm done with my leg wax she gives me the opportunity to check and make sure she didn't miss any spots and if she did she fixes it no problem. She never makes me feel pressured and she always wants the best. I am also not afraid to check and make sure the job was done the way I wanted since I'm paying for the service. I've never seen her upset or "take her bad days out on your face". For as picky and specific as I am. I will continue to go to Brows & Beyond because of there service, hours of convenience and great pricing. read more

Popped in here on my lunch break. Walked in a caterpillar walked out a brand new butterfly! My eyes hadn't been in over a month they needed some TLC badly. I yelped places near my job and stumbled upon this place. I totally cheated on normal brow place, but in a way it was worth it. It's clean. The woman working was friendly. She worked fast, yet didn't miss a hair. I did feel every.single. hair being pulled which was a negative. I took a Tylenol 20 mins prior to showing up and I still felt everything. Normally, I feel little to no pain at my regular joint. I felt like such a noob today with how badly it hurt. Maybe I shouldn't go so long between threadings. I'd probably stop in again if I had cash. It's $7 for threading, but if your total is less than $20 they won't let you use cc/debit which is a HUGE negative in my book since I rarely if ever have cash on me. read more

A long time ago I used to frequent Brows & Beyond for my brow needs. Not that I wasn't happy with my brows or the service, but at that time I decided to go elsewhere. I had been perusing Yelp for a closer option and came upon Brows & Beyond with all their great reviews. I called to inquire about Bella since she was the one who used to take care of me, unfortunately I was told she is no longer there. I had become hesitant about returning after learning this. But decided to go anyways and I'm very glad I did! Shona (not sure how it's spelled, sorry!) was there when I walked in and immediately took care of me. I made sure to let her know that I had spent a lot of time to grow my brows and fears of being over threaded, but she assured me that she knew what she was doing. She leaned me back and went to work! The lady is rude. I got there @ 6:57 after looking on their website that stated that they're open until 8:00 pm! I see the closed sign in the window, so I called her and ask if they are closed. She states yes they close at 7pm, I said your website says 8! She says our door says 7, to which I replied if I'm not in front of your door before I drive over, how would I know that?!! I found Brows & Beyond thanks to my handy dandy Yelp app and all the great reviews. As soon as I walked into B&B I was warmly greeted and this has happened every time I've gone so far. The ladies that have done my eyebrows have all been friendly and welcoming. Brows & Beyond is a bit pricey then other eyebrow places I have been to. For threading eyebrows and waxing lip it was $18, whoa! I was a bit speechless as I processed this. Other places I have been too, the cost for waxing and threading were the same. I even double check their website to make sure the price was right. I have not stuck to threading for both which is $14. (P.s. Services under $20 must be paid in cash.) The ladies that have done my eyebrows did a great job at cleaning and giving them their natural shape. The establishment is always clean and I've never had a long wait. I've been here a few times for eyebrow threading because it is so convenient & fairly new.. Bella is outstanding. She did a wonderful job making sure my brows were perfectly shaped. She listened while I explained how I wanted them to look (full and sculpted). Honestly, she's probably one of the better threadists I've had the pleasure of meeting (aside from Beauty Concept's in Darien). She's also a wealth of knowledge re: eyebrows and lashes. They also do brow tinting, lash extensions and various threading & waxing services. I've always preferred threading over waxing, so I'm thrilled there is a salon nearby!! $8 for brows and your in & out! The salon is newer, very clean & cozy. They have about 4 chairs. You can walk-in, or call ahead and its open 7 days a week! It's never been crazy busy when I've walked in... Finally! An eyebrow threading establishment close to home! I should really mention that Brows & Beyond is more than just threading. They offer eyebrow/facial waxing and eyelash extensions. They accept walk-ins but Lana had a huge following in a nearby 'Burb and more than likely they will follow here so best to call beforehand if you're worried about a wait. Threading is my choice of eyebrow maintenance and Lana (the owner and sole operator for now) did a wonderful job shaping and clearing up my brows. She takes a bit more time than what I'm used to so there's a bit more pain but the results were wonderful. Lana also applies a really nice cream/astringent to your skin afterward so the final result is clean, smooth, soft skin. The shop is clean, sleek and modern. Soft colors and soft music makes the space very relaxing. I didn't get a chance to talk with Lana for very long as another client walked in for services but I did chat a bit about the eyelash services and that sounds worth checking out. Especially when you've got upcoming events. $17 for services (lip and eyebrows). Cost a bit more than my usual places but for the convenience to being closer to home and the wonderful service, it's worth future visits. read more

The first thing I asked when walking in, "Are you on Yelp!?" Lana was the friendliest businesswoman I've met in a while. Hearing her stories of how she came to start her own business was extremely impressive and one of the reasons I was so interested in her work. I came with 3 others who wanted a threading (reasonable at $7) but unfortunately I let my brows go BEYOND normal parameters and end up needing some serious waxing($10). Lana did a great job bringing my brows back to normal. Her pricing is very reasonable and I have mad respect for the woman. On top of all that, her place is super clean and swank. My brows love Lana. That is why I followed her here to Addison. The studio was opened recently and offers waxing, threading, and eyelash extensions. She even has a little jewelry for sale.The space is clean, modern, and simple. My eyebrow cleanup (threading) was only $9 which was less expensive than what I had been paying at the previous salon. (Side note: credit cards are accepted for services over $20.) I can tell you that I've never received so many complements about by eyebrows since I've been seeing Lana. Lana did a good job with the eyebrow tinting in terms of brow shape, though the "filling" seems too light. I came back for a touch up the next day. The tinting didn't last even a few days and washed off quickly unfortunately. The eyelash tinting stung a bit and I didn't notice much difference afterwards. Another employee threaded my lip. I thread my own brows and lip but like to get pampered once in awhile. I will shed a tear every now and then, even after five years of doing it. This employee was a bit patronizing when I asked for a tissue. I gave her $10 for the $6 service and let her keep the change, but when I think about it in retrospect, I shouldn't have tipped her at all. I spent $75 altogether including tip. Let's just say that No-Shave November got a little out of hand... So here it is March and it's time to cut out this stupid hairy experiment! I was greeted by Lana, who also did the work. I don't go for this sort of service often so I really appreciated her clear instruction rather than any assumption that I knew how she wanted me. Lower legs and underarms... She worked quickly and did a nice job but for me I wouldn't choose doing the legs again. Just preference. The underarms, however...okay, that's definitely a sensation but it looks perfect and THAT was the service she assured me is totally worth it. Lasts a long time and just gets better and better. I believe it. The shop was clean and peaceful. Nice music. UPDATE: It's been just shy of a month and it was time to go back. Lana was right...MUCH less hair. Can underarm hair really be this easily beaten into submission? At this rate I'll eventually be a former customer but still a total fan. I'll be advising all of the women in my realm to go hairy next winter in preparation for a waxing because I'm already convinced this is the ONLY way to go. read more
