They took my kayak seat and said they could repair it , after two people looked it over when I dropped it off. 1 month goes by and I had not heard so I reached out , they said they would work on it next week. I went to the store , during hours , and no one answered . I tried to call twice , the voicemail says they will get back in 7 days . They never get back to you so even the 7 days is not true . Another month goes by and I call and they said they haven't looked at it . Finally 3rd month I reach out after they said it would be done on Monday , I wasn't able to pick it up on Monday- Thursday due to their hours and work. Thursday I received a text that said they are not able to repair it. So told me it would be done the next day and then 3 days after that they say they couldn't do it !! The chair doesn't even look like they touched it. Very frustrating. Then took them 5 minutes to find it when I went to go pick it up. We left our info on Brown's website for someone to contact us regarding a quote over the weekend. Brooke called left a VM on Wed around 445pm. Brooke & I texted to set up a quote the following day between 9 to 10am. We reviewed the job details and I requested cotton breathable sample fabrics. I was told Pete or Sean would be taking measurements and showing fabric. The following day, our visit was a no call no show. I texted at 10:03am to find out what happened. I was told, by Brooke, I'd be texted back with an ETA. I never received a text back. I called. I was told Pete was on his way. As we were rescheduling over the phone, Pete showed up (10:20am). Pete gave no apologies for his tardiness. He took no measurements. Only pics. All samples he brought were polyester. My husband told Pete the samples were not what we were looking for. Pete then told us just to pick our own fabric and bring it to them if we didn't like the samples. Pete argued about the work we wanted done and the 2 different quotes we were requesting. We wanted quotes for (a) just replacing foam and (b) replacing foam and fabric. According to Pete, that's too complicated. I tried calling to discuss this poor interaction with Pete, but Brooke is not available. I tried texting and am not receiving a response. RUN from these ppl. RUN. I am SOOO GLAD we haven't put down a deposit or handed over my 3 couches. read more

The worst company ever!!! Brooke and Barbara are so rude and don't care about customer service at all! Dropped off 8 chairs and gave them specific instructions. They called about week or so later and and said chairs were ready, got payment from me then dropped off chairs. Omg!! They were terrible! There was loose fringe that they "forgot" to cut. They stapled the cording and caused terrible indents in cording. Staple gun scratched the wood, Didn't put chair cushions back on and left a gap. So they came and picked back up and took 2 months, a ton of excuses, and stop payment to get my chairs back. These chairs were for a client of my company. Brooke would call and give a date and that day would come and go. I would call on that day and no answer for hours then got a rude call from someone saying "we are working on them" and then another week passed same thing. I went into the shop to find out what was going on and Barbara told me to "get the f*** out". Made an entire story up to Pete (in front of me) that I was screaming but and that I said the F word and I said to her face she was lying and she agreed she lied. I had to go to my client and try to explain what was taking so long. Embarrassing!!! They said my chairs are a "piece of s***" and that's why it's taking so long. The chairs got ruined because the first time they did it they ruined the chairs. My other partner of my company called to find out what was going on and Pete called me every name in the book! I was getting upset because you can never talk to Pete, never get a call back and now it's 2 months later and you tell me my stuff is a "piece of s***! Are you serious!!! When the chairs FINALLY showed up they used the same cording as before so it was all bumpy from the staples they used in the first place, These people are trashy, unprofessional and losers. This is the 2nd time I have used Brown's for my upholstery needs. A couple years ago I dropped off 6 bar stools to be upholstered. They looked beautiful and were completed in a timely manner at a reasonable price. I had gotten quotes from 2 other businesses. This time I had a compact recliner and storage ottoman. I sent Brooke a text with pictures and measurements of each. She responded that day with a quote and the amount of fabric needed. I used their pickup and delivery service for a small fee, which was well worth it. I was given a two week window for completion. She texted after about a week with pictures asking me which direction I preferred for the fabric orientation, which I had not thought about, but was grateful for. The completed furniture was delivered at the end of two weeks and looked flawless! I had requested extra padding be added to the arms of the chair, which they did. The piping on both pieces is beautiful! I am very happy with the completed work and will use Brown's in the future. read more

I had a horrible experience with this company. The other reviewers are correct - Brooke is horribly ruse and does not have a clue about good customer service. I took in a chair to be reupholstered and the wooden legs were to be refinished a color that we agreed on. They told me it would be about two weeks. It was a few days longer than that, but it was done - except the legs were stained almost black and the stain was uneven, with drip marks. It looked awful. I told them it was unacceptable. They said they would fix it and bring it to my house by the end of the day. They never showed or called. Because of that, I paid. I went back the next day and the run-around started. I spent the next five weeks trying to get them to re-finish the wood the way we had first agreed. I got excuses - employees left. I got told lies - that they tried to call me. (Really? Like you can fake making a call to a cell phone that records every incoming call?) I was called a liar - that I had said a different color stain. I was offered my money back "until the chair was done." No, I said, I want the chair done correctly. Finally, I went in and said just give me the chair. The blond lady turned to Brooke and said something very quietly about writing a check. I wasn't even sure it was about me. They had a worker put the chair in the car. I started to leave, then remembered the fabric scraps, which they had promised to save for me. So I went back in and of course, they could not find the rest of my fabric, which I had planned to use to make pillows. Then they gave me a check for the amount I had paid for the refinishing. At least I got that back. When I took the chair out of my car, I realized that parts of the upholstery were poorly done, with raw edges of the fabric not finished properly underneath the back of the seat. Later, a friend pointed out that the pattern was not matched up at the seams as a good upholsterer would have done. There's a reason they quoted half what another upholsterer did. I should have paid more and gotten better work and better service. read more

I had a very pleasant experience with this company. I had a sofa cushion that needed repair, so I called around several places and got quite a range of prices. This place was quite nice on phone and gave me the most straightforward information, so I gave them a try. They were very friendly when I dropped it off. The cushion was repaired within the timeframe they stated, and the repair turned out to be even easier than expected, so Barb charged me less than she had originally quoted. This is hands down the worst company i have ever dealt with. Highly advised to STAY away from here no matter what! The lady that answers the phone Brooke is beyond rude. They were suppose to fix cushions for my couch and were 45 mins late to get them and never even called. I had to call them to see if they were still coming. Then they said they would be done and have them back the next day at 4pm. I called to confirm and Brooke told me she never committed to a time and that it was a guesstimate of when they would be done. I told her that was not acceptable as I was under the impression from what she told me was going to be done overnight. Not to mention they never even called to say it was going to not be done and they needed another day. Brooke then told me she would gladly send back the cushions unfinished and hung up the phone one me. If you are looking for a nightmare and headache and an incomplete job go for it..... I'm still waiting for Pete the manger to call me back. They clearly get an F for customer service. read more

I should have read reviews before using this place. Just like the rest of the reviews, Brooke was rude, and was not concerned at all about customer service. The shop does not pay attention to due dates and really couldn't care less about their customer. They do not honor time commitments, and really do not care about the delivery. I tried to pick up my ottoman multiple times (that I asked them to re-upholster) and each time they offered an excuse for not getting it done. Then, they offered to deliver, but, because I told them I was not around after the time they said they would, they claimed they tried to deliver at that time. Now, they want me to pay delivery to 'try delivery again'. Brooke was more about arguing, which I was not interested in doing with her. Now, after calling out their bad business practice, they do not even want to respond to my delivery request. I will have to use the Better Business Bureau and Attorney General's office to just get possession of my ottoman. Not sure I even can, as I cannot ascertain completion status of the job. Not sure why they are even in business. I used another more expensive upholsterer for a prior job, and should have stuck to that company. I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau so others can benefit from my experience. I am also filing a complaint with the Attorney General's office. These people should not be allowed to stay in business with this type of Business ethic. read more

I brought in two recliners that were my mother's that passed in April. I requested them to be reupholstered in two different fabrics and requested bolster pillows to be made as well. The recliners are beautiful and the craftsmanship is fantastic. I contacted several upholstery shops and they were the most reasonable by far. Brooke was very friendly and listened to what I wanted. Well, I have been very disappointed with the customer service skills (or LACK thereof) of the brunette woman that works theres--could be Brooke. I am a paying, patient customer, however the staff needs customer service training. The customer is NOT right in this establishement, and work isn't completed on time--if at all. I had dropped off my order and was told it would bw done in a day or so, and was constatnly put off every time I visited to check on the status. After 2 weeks, it still wasn't done--in fact the Brunette there just told me to take it to another place because they're too busy to take any orders. I am not a rude person--but she really didn't like her work or working with customers. Sadly, my order wasn't even started, and I will not go back there or recommend them to anyone again. read more

They do not know how to do auto upholstery. I took my car seats in to have them install new seat covers and foam on them. They couldn't figure out how to put the covers on the back of the seats. I was told that the covers were too small and would not fit. One of the bottom seats they put the cover on without replacing the new foam. The covers were installed incorrectly, holes were over cut and it was a terrible attempt at a job they had no idea what they were doing. I took the seats to another upholsterer and they had no problem fitting all the covers correctly finishing the job in a professional and timely manner. read more
