First and last time ordering from this company. Bought my items and selected next day air shipping. Long story short the items arrived 2 days later and every rep I spoke with made every excuse in the world as to why they weren't at fault. Citing that "we don't work weekends" and "our policy says clearly that we dont process orders on weekends" etc...well I never saw that anywhere before I placed my order and the confirmation email told me that my package would be delived the next day like I had selected. I could maybe look past my first experience being poor but I will not risk having to deal with such awful customer service again. read more

This place has great stock and has a very liberal return policy. Pretty much a lifetime warranty on stuff you buy from them. The reason they get 3 stars instead of 5 is because of the slow shipping. FedEx smart post is the worse shipping option I have ever seen. My order sat in Phoenix for 3 days before it was given to the post office for final delivery. It was like being punished for choosing the free shipping option. read more

Company has worst customer service I've ever seen. Ordered rifle in June and was told it was out of stock and that they would be in in July. July comes no rifle. Called customer service and was told I would receive it in August. Well guess what--August comes no gun. Called customer service again and they said they could not tell me where I was on the list. What??? So how do they know who to send to. This company is crap! read more

Their management and shipping department is Very incompetent in their jobs. The third tracking number I have received that's been bogus. On an order I placed almost a month ago. Every time I call about it. somebody in their management tells me something completely different. Save your time and money go somewhere else. Will-Cooper read more

Brand new customer with Brownell's (online.) My first experience as an online buyer has been inexcusably unprofessional. Placed a very simple order for a pistol and some 9mm ammunition. At no time during the ordering/checkout process was I asked to provide a copy of my FOID card or driver's license. After two days with no shipping notice I contacted their customer support and was told that they need a copy of my FOID card to process the ammo order. This person did not tell me I had to also provide a copy of my driver's license during that call. I emailed them a copy of the FOID card immediately. I got an email that they had received it, but now also needed my driver's license. Why wasn't I told that during the first call? So of course I immediately emailed them a copy of my driver's license. A couple of hours pass and I receive an email asking me to call their customer support 1-800 number. I called them and was told they now needed my telephone number so they could provide it to my FFL dealer for the pistol. I told them that I would contact the FFL dealer personally to establish contact. Update: This troubles with this order have gone from very bad to worse. The tracking number I was given never got past the "label created" stage. Three customer service reps later, I got an email apologizing and that it would be taken care of. Now two days later and nothing. Order is still on hold. Yet another call to find out what's going on and no one at customer service is on the same page. I have to restate the entire mess to each person. None of them know anything and cannot give a simple answer about anything. I'm calling my CC company to see how to get my money refunded. Worst online shopping experience in many years and I will never trust them again. read more

shipping and processing is very slow very slow compared with any other online retailers. oh, almost forgot, their website is very slow too (no idea who designed this for such a "big" company)... My order is still in process after a few days and no idea when I can get the in stock items. read more

So I ordered a extended slide release and a Zev technologies compensator. Extended slide release no problem the compensator went open the package one of the screws hit the ground I just thought it was lose went to put it back in realize the screw had been broken and the end of it was wedged inside the compensator and then started looking at the threads and realize that somebody had tried to install it and probably broke the screw. I contacted Brownell's and spoke to a total of seven different employees over the course of five hours. First employee didn't know what the heck they were doing sent me to a guy name Kyle which understood exactly what was going on told me to submit pictures of what I found with an email and he would get it taken care of and overnight me a new one because I ordered this two day air to have a shooting competition this weekend. Never heard back from him called and went through the cycle of several more people. Got an email from some customer support person named Jennifer that told me they no longer had anything in stock and that I should contact Zev technologies for my missing screw. To which I retype my email explaining the problem along with the photos and said it's not missing anything is there is broken because you sold me a used part. To which I've heard nothing from anybody everyone that I talk to you were supposed to forward me an email with the return label so I can ship the old one back. Seven people later I still have not received that email. Last person I talked to right before closing time told me that he would email it to me promptly but unfortunately the one I bought was the last one to which I laughed and said of course it is I got the one on the back of the shelf that it was used but nobody said anything. To which I said I just want my money back what's it gonna take to get it you can have this broken POS. They told me I'd have to return it and wait anywhere from 7 to 10 business days to have my money returned to me without my $20 expedited shipping fee I paid nevertheless. I basically hung up at this point I had hours into a situation trying to get something accomplished I'm out $130 with tax and shipping for my compensator and I'm passing on this information to other people do not make the mistake I did Brownell's customer service might be one of the worst in the firearms industry. read more

I ordered some ammo marked as in stock. Checked with chat to see if they could add a couple mags. No problem. 5 or 6 hours later they sent me an email that the ammo was canceled off the order. Checked with chat and they told me it was no longer in stock and that their website doesn't have real time inventory. But they could still send me the mags. What a waste of time. SPend a couple more bucks with someone who can actually deliver. Would give them zero stars if that were an option. read more

This place is CRAP, I ordered something that was supposed to fit my AK and it didn't when I sent it back I have been waiting 2 months for a return. DO NOT EVER USE THIS PLACE. ITS A RIP OFF AND A SCAM! read more

Update: I was contacted by the Brownells support staff the week after submitting my complaint via email to their customer service. They sent me a replacement part at no charge contrary to their original response. Ironically, the error was on USPS as they delivered the part to the wrong address. I obtained the original part and returned the replacement sent by Brownells. I have updated my rating to reflect improved customer service. read more

Brownells sucks. I have been waiting 2 weeks for a refund and they just keep extending the time frame. First it was 7 days then 10 days then 10 business days. TOTAL BULLSHIT will never give them 1 penny of my money again. The best part is they sent me a used BCG as new and this is how they treat you after they try and screw you!!! read more

First and last time doing business with Brownells. I returned a product last month and it was confirmed received on the 29th of March. Here it is April 11th and no refund as of yet. I used the online chat function and chatted with a rep to find that it could take up to 10 business days just to confirm the receipt of the item AND another 10 business days for the return to show on the credit card. Are you kidding me? Imagine if you went to ANY store and were told you need to wait basically a month to get a refund for your return. With all the options out there I'll never place another order with Brownells. Take a look at the reviews recently and you'll see this is becoming a trend. Do yourself a favor and shop elsewhere. read more

I placed an order online, as expected, I received an order confirmation. Then I waited and waited, no other confirmation. If I continued to wait, my hair would turned gray. I checked my order status online and it was "On Hold" with no explanation. I wished they would send me an email indicating the status of Hold and I need to call customer service to clear it up. Since they were closed, I tried the chat method. They said I have to call in. Very disappointed in their online order service. read more

Thanks to all those at Brownells who supported Calif gun owners during freedom week. I know we really slammed you with orders but you have really communicated well with status of orders and shipping arrival times. Thanks again from those behind the front lines. read more

Order, only if you want them to take your money and not get your product. Also, customer service is excellent...at not contacting you back. I'll never shop with this company again. read more

Poor customer service. I mistakenly ordered a wrong item because their image of the item was incorrect. I didn't notice the error until after I've already opened and used the item. Customer service through their online chat said someone would get back to me. It's been over a month and haven't heard from them. I will not buy from them now. read more

Recently I purchased a product from Brownells and never received the package. I contacted the customer service department and was told it was up to me to locate my package from the post office and that Brownells has no responsibility for my lost package at all. No sympathy or concerns about my situation. Just told, so sorry, but its your loss now if the post office did not deliver or if it was stolen. I have dealt with other companies before with better customer service and policies than Brownells. I will never purchase from them again and will be telling my firearm friends never to buy from Brownells either. Brownells don't care about you once they have your money. read more

Worst Customer Service EVER! I ordered 2 magazines for my Marlin XT 22.lr and only received one. When I inquired about it I was told there was an Auspost investigation. Weeks went past and I had no response to several emails. I then called Auspost directly only to be told there is no investigation as the send never lodge an inquiry. I then tried repeatedly to contact Bruce from Brownells with no response whatsoever. I then sent an email stating that I would contact the NSW Office of Fair Trading if I did not receive a response by the end of the week. Today, I received this piss-weak response from Bruce: "If you would calm down maybe you would get a better response" Seriously, F$%K You Bruce. Maybe if you had a shred of decency or any kind of customer service skills maybe people would get shitty with you in the first place. Avoid this sh!thouse retailer at all cost. They will f$#k up your order and blame you for asking about it. Worst gun shop in Australia! read more

Building a custom 1911 and spoke with a Brownells gun tech to find out if a particular part would fit my build. He assured me it would, ordered the part only to have it arrive and NOT FIT! Had to pay the return shipping fro the part and have been waiting almost two weeks for my money to be refunded. eMails to Brownells only say a refund can take up to 10 days. WHY? It doesn't take them that long to process the payment when you buy something. From now on I'll buy all my parts from Midway,USA. read more

I would like to start off with if I could give a negative star, I would give Brownell guns and ammo negative infinity. If you want the type of a protection to stop anyone with a sling shot then do not depend on this place to assist you. I made an order on 01/19/2013 for a rather large order for a common consumer, and then on 01/30/2013 I decided to add some more to the order, and the rep canceled my first order and started a fresh new order without telling me this. I wrote down everything I ordered and the date on a piece of paper so I would not forget what I had ordered. a year went by and on 8/2013 I decided to call and see what was going on with my order. I was told many a story about the large order by the government, and that their warehouse was literally empty. it was at this time I found out about the first order being deleted and the second order being made so that made my turn to get ammo after everyone else that had made orders between01/19/2013-01/30/2013. normally that would not be much but because of the demand for ammo going through the roof, I am sure there was a good thousand orders before mine. I made a total of 8 more calls between 08/2013 and 08/2014, and every call was met with the rep mentioning that they were filling the government order, and that the troops needed the ammo first. Being ex-military I know that the military has large cache's of ammunition. the second to last and last calls made in 08/2014 I was also told that they were filling orders from the 16-25 January 2013 so my order would be filled soon. I just looked at my account today 03/10/2015 and it now states that the order has been canceled and unable to fill, WOW THANKS FOR THE CALL. needless to say I don't refer Brownell to my worst enemy, and suggest that the government refer the enemies of the U.S. to Brownell since then our enemy will not ever have munitions to fight against us. Brownell truly sucks and ill let the whole world know how it took over 2 years for them to not fill my order, and how they forget to call and inform the customer that they wont get the orders they make. So unless you like wasting your time DON'T USE BROWNELL!!!!!!!!! read more

I ordered a part for a rifle at 1-2am on a Saturday morning. The very next day Sunday, before my order had even been assigned an order number I sent a reply to the confirmation email to cancel. I sent another Sunday night and another Monday after i was assigned an order number. I even went as far to sign in, went to the order number and tried to cancel there, but to no avail. The site stated that it couldn't locate my order number that had been assigned by the vendor. After 3 attempts to cancel, they still shipped my order. I will refuse the package. And I will also contact my credit card company to dispute the charge as I have 3 emails stating to "cancel" long before they even shipped. My requests went ignored. That says a lot about this vendor and I'll never order again. read more

Nice selection, and customer service is important to them. I placed a small order containing only items that were listed as "in stock." A week and a half later, the order still had not shipped. Called them and spoke with a service rep who explained they are having computer problems and are shipping everything manually. Took another week after that to get my order. As an apology for the unusual delay, they sent me a $25 gift card. I certainly will be ordering from Brownell's again. read more

Horrible customer service and website. Ordered a part from their website, only to have it come in incorrect. When I contacted their customer service, it was explained to me that this particular part was mislabeled and "confusing" on their store. So I sent it back to them. Over a month later I still do not have this part in, and they contacted me telling me that I owe them an additional $10... gee, I hope their $10 is worth it. read more

Count me as another affected by the "warehouse move". Placed an order on Nov.22nd, and all items were listed as "in stock". On Nov. 30th, I emailed them to inquire as to when my order was going to ship. The response from "Julie H." on Dec. 1st was: "With our final move into our new warehouse, your order was caught in the changeover. We had hoped to have a "zero impact" to our valued customers, but regrettably that didn't happen. Our goal is to be back fully operational mid-next week for sure." Of course, I complained (via email on Dec. 2nd) that waiting 2.5 weeks for "in stock" items to ship was unacceptable, and I requested that they immediately ship my items via comped next day air. On Dec. 4th (today), after receiving no response, I requested that they cancel my order and remove my contact information from their system. Good customer service is NOT about getting 99% of orders out on time. That is to be expected from ALL vendors. What makes good customer service is handling PROBLEMS in a timely and fair fashion. Brownells has done neither for a first time customer, and as such I will not be doing business with them in the future. read more

I've had nothing but great service from Brownells. They've alway gone above and beyond for me. Their employees have always been very helpful. I can't figure out what people who wrote negative things were thinking. I hav3 an idea but don't know for sure.......probably were Democrats read more

First time order from them - takes forever to get the product - been sitting in some USPS site in Kansas City for 3 days. Will not order from them again - should have checked the online reviews before ordering and just ordered from Cabellas - I would have had the product two days ago instead of when it is supposed to be delivered which is in 3 days. Ordered an in stock item and it will take almost 2 weeks for it to get from Iowa to Denver. Really bad. read more

Don't buy from this company...extremely poor customer service and dishonest in their product descriptions. Even when you clearly explain the discrepancy in what you ordered vs. the product description, they do not care. read more

Although this has nothing to do with guns or ammo, I wanted to purchase a concentricity gage from them. When I placed the order online, I wanted it quickly, so I checked the box for two-day shipping and paid extra. Understand that this wasn't a terribly expensive device (around $100), and they delayed the order while sending me emails to contact them by telephone. When I spoke to the representative on the phone, she told me she needed to confirm all of the things they already had on the order. You can order things from Amazon and have them the next day, but with Brownells, why should you have to confirm all of the things they already know? Since four days had passed since I placed the order, and since they made me pay extra for the two-day shipping, I simply cancelled the order and purchased from Amazon... I just wonder how long they can stay in business with this kind of customer service in an age Amazon... read more

Did not ship my order when it was placed. I was wondering what the status of my order was when I received an email asking me to call them about the order. If they have to question you about the items you order they should not be in the business of selling those items. The things that they sell are available elsewhere and elsewhere is where I will be placing my orders. Totally disgusted with their rotten business practices. I give them one star but I would rather give them no stars at all. read more

Great customer service! I placed an order online, and was mistakenly charged for shipping, even though I used a coupon code. It was not much, just about 4 dollars, but it was enough for me to tell them about it with their contact form on the website. Brownells fixed the problem immediately, crediting the 4$ back to my card, and notified me by email. Thanks guys! Brownells has excellent prices and great specials. Awesome! read more

I ordered a Front Ramp Dovetail Sight. On reviewing the order, the website said "In Stock" When I pushed the order, then it said the item was "Backordered" I tried to cancel the order. After contacting the seller once again, I reached someone and got the excuse "we are moving warehouses" I finally told them I wanted to cancel my order. The order had not been picked and shipped yet, but they told me they could not cancel it. Instead of canceling my order and letting me go happy that I could find a new vendor for the part, they decided to go to the second warehouse, picked up the part and shipped it out. As a business decision, they are ignorant wasting their time and money when I wanted to cancel the order. They didn't give me fast shipping to accommodate for the late delivery, so now it will arrive 4 days after Christmas. Now I have to refuse the package in which they wasted their money on and go through getting a refund. The customer service here was poor, I found a supplier who shipped the part out immediately and had great customer service. I WILL NEVER USE BROWNELLS EVER AGAIN! Did I mention I found the part for $60 less than Brownells? I recommend that you shut down your business and get organized before you tarnish your image any more. The negative reviews I read below are accurate. These people are full of excuses and refuse to simply give you a refund. Hopefully anyone who decides to look at these reviews does not have to deal with this pathetic business. read more

Because are uncle works there and he is bad ass since he also sells guns best place ever go there

I would give them a negative review if allowed. Prices are higher than most everywhere else and their return policy is terrible. I sent 2 items back to them and they received them at the beginning of the month and 17 days later they still have yet to refund my money. And even with many attempts to contact them to get an answer as to what is going on, my emails go unanswered. It has gotten so bad that I have had to engage my credit card company to have them charge the items back and go about a refund that way. I will never buy from them again, the lack of customer service and high prices make this place one of the worst to deal with on the net. There are MANY more places out there that are happy to help you and are courteous and respond to inquiries. read more

I will never order from this company ever again. previously ordered last december with no problem. And now ordered an item worth 233.00 online with same shipping and credit card info, got an email saying to call them to complete the process of my order. I ordered many items online with higher amount like in a thousands without any problem and without this kind of policy. Waste of time. read more

I ordered the Brownells catalog. It's a big catalog and so it's a bit heavy. When I got it in the mail, it was evident they couldn't be bothered with puting it in a protective cover this time. It came beaten up and torn. I was disappointed to say the least. I left a review a few weeks ago stating just that, the system said it would be posted in a few days. Guess what. They didn't bother posting it, big surprise considering it was a negative review of their catalog. The front of it says, "Serious about firearms since 1939". I guess they're not so serious anymore. If they can't be bothered puting their catalog in something protective, especially since they are charging $10 for it. I won't be getting another of their catalogs in the future. Who is running Brownells these days? Cheapskates? read more

The worst company I've ever dealt with, the only time I've ever had to dispute a charge on my cc because of they're terrible customer service.
