But when in Rome...! The parking right by the location is a little limited, but the building is basically adjacent to a Walmart so there is a ton of nearby parking. The store itself is dated, you can tell it's older, but it seemed to be clean enough during my visit. The modern water bottle filling station towards the rear of the store was a nice surprise...though it almost seemed out of place. Lol I snagged a piece of glassware that caught my eye off one of the fixtures. There were two staff members at the registers and they were being pretty efficient at checking people out. The short lines went fast. This location is probably better for a person looking for clothes than someone hunting for kitchenware or any kind of a hard good. Though I will say they had a lot of seasonal/holiday decorations... One big pro... The Goodwill was actually open during their posted hours. Unlike the local Salvation Army... No idea why the SA store was already closed at 300 PM on a Saturday afternoon... No explanation. No signs. Just closed.

One women seemed nice at first, but then started arguing with me and belittling me, when I raised questions. The jeweler on duty was asked to come consult with us by the woman employee three separate times, but refused, staying off in a corner. I Finally walked up to the jeweler myself and asked him, if we could ask him a few questions about the ring he had done some work on. He said he couldn't take the time because he had to go pick up his daughter at school. Ask yourself if you would like this if it happened to you. Should employees argue with customers? The repair was expensive. The jeweler could've given us a few minutes of his time.

Today it was two weighted blankets for $20, at least 50% lower than new at Walmart, not sure if that is their norm. I did not buy today. I have not been interested in buying anything there in a while, but I am also finally downsizing and more likely to take items in. Often see used, but retail bedding. I think it is a good place to find items you need for setting up a household. Regardless, twice monthly 50% off days are bargains and the parking lot will be full. Compare to some thrift stores they are higher priced, others lower priced. I believe they have a clothing credit for people in need. It appears there has recently been a turnover in staff and volunteers, and I am not sure what that is about. TBH, there have been many changes with Caring Hands in the last five years. TBH, a lot of the local donors don't have much to give and will donate crappy pieces. Caring Hands has to sort through that. Last I heard they donate the worst to DAV. Facebook Marketplace killed the "lucky find" thrift model for a lot of small towns combined with the current economy. For those struggling to make ends meet, there is often some free bread in the thrift area, and in the summer free produce as well... to supplement anyone. I believe books are still free there, but call ahead if that interests you... you will be lucky if they answer. Pottery on the wheel, toddler time with clay, Wine and Paint, Jewelery making, Fused Glass, Fluid Art and other opportunities that arise.
