I was in a bind with nowhere to turn when my landlord for my college apartment told us we could not move in as early as he said we could. I am from Massachusetts so I was in a pickle like no other. I needed a storage unit ASAP and I needed it at a good price (I am a student). Jim from Brown Jug Storage answered my call around 9 am on a Saturday and, by 4 pm, I had moved all of my belongings into the unit and locked up. Called earlier in the day to the 740 number, Gus answered and was very rude, hung up then when I called back he claimed he was the owner, started yelling, using profanity and name calling. Totally unacceptable. When I reached out to Jim Manos the owner, I explained my experience to which he replied "what's your point?" "I'm a busy man" "what do you want?". I was appalled. I love Delaware and all the locally owned and operated businesses however this guy gives it a bad reputation! He has several awful reviews and simply doesn't care. Lowest of the low. People work hard for their money and deserve good customer service. This is no way to run a business! read more

The owner of Brown Jug storage, Jim Manos of Dublin OH should not be renting storage units near a college campus. I rented a unit in his facility to store my daughters college belongings. I live out of state. When she arrived at the unit it was full of someone else's things. There is no one on site so she called Mr Manos and explained to him that the unit was full. He had no other units available and offered her the use of an upstairs storage closet (mechanical room) in another building that he owns, assuring her that she would be the only one with the key and nobody else's belonging would be placed in there. He told me that it was actually an upgrade (ha!) and that it was climate controlled. He did not offer to reduce the full rate or give any discounts due to his mistakes, in fact he thinks he was doing her a favor and told me so on many occasions. In August my daughter went to collect her things from the closet in this building and there was a glass dining table on top of her things, and other peoples belongings in with hers, so the unit was not secure by no means nor was she the only one with the key as she was told. Also the room was leaking and not climate controlled like we were lead to believe (what an upgrade!) and some of her things that were not in plastic rubbermaid boxes got ruined and covered in mold. I called Mr Manos and told him that there were things in there that didn't belong to her, a heavy glass table that she had to move, and that some of her things were ruined with mold. He told me he didn't give a f*ck and that we were out of luck, and that he did her a favor in the first place so we shouldn't be complaining. He has the worst customer service that I have ever experienced, I have never been cussed out by a business owner, I was honestly shocked. My suggestion would be to save the heartache and avoid this company and specifically this man. read more
