The decision to have a face lift was difficult because I had heard that it was extremely painful and being in the medical field, the idea of this type of procedure terrified me. After going to consultations with many surgeons, it was an easy decision to go forth with the surgery after meeting with Dr. Z and his staff. The initial appointment was easy to schedule, and I was very satisfied with everything from the location, affordability, professionalism of his office staff, and his personal evaluation and details of the procedure. He was extremely patient with my questions and concerns. After seeing him, I wanted this to be done ASAP! All my appointments were scheduled ahead of time. I was given specific instructions on medications pre and post-surgery, with detailed explanations of what to expect day of surgery, post recovery, and beyond. The procedure went very well; the pain was minimal and not at all what I had imagined. Recovery time is different for everyone, however, there is not a time when I ever worried about the end result. It's been 2 months. My face looked better after 2 weeks and keeps looking better every day. Keloid scarring is irritating and erythematous. The scars are raised and thick. I would not recommend this doctor. He does not take the time to evaluate each patient properly, and his communication skills are inadequate. I waited to write this to see if my scars would heal over time, and they have not. THE NOSE KNOWS I…read morewas facing something that had quietly become overwhelming. My nose had collapsed to the point where breathing through it was nearly impossible. Nights were restless. My ear felt constantly blocked. And the solutions I was being offered felt... drastic. One highly regarded local surgeon told me my case was so extreme that cartilage would need to be taken from my ear to rebuild my nose. He warned my nose would widen significantly and look very different. I was willing to accept that. I just wanted to breathe again. And also my hearing was lessening. I wanted to be able to hear again thinking maybe that they were related. But something in me hesitated. Then I remembered Dr. Jacob Tower. Years earlier, I had met him when he was at Lahey Clinic. A deeply respected ear, nose, and throat specialist with extraordinary skill in facial aesthetics. I reached out, and he responded immediately. From our very first conversation, everything changed. Dr. Tower didn't just see a "difficult case." He saw a better path. He explained clearly, thoughtfully, and with remarkable depth, what was actually happening, and how he could restore not just structure, but function... and quality of life. He invited me to come see him right away at The Spiegel Center. What he offered was simpler. Smarter. And far more elegant. I booked surgery on the spot. Three weeks ago today, he performed it. I remember waking up. For the first time in years, breathing fully through my nose. Effortlessly. Quietly. Completely. There were no overwhelming nasal packings, no dramatic bruising. Quite nothing like I had been warned to expect. Even more surprising... everything started to come back to life. The pressure in my ear disappeared. My hearing sharpened. One moment I'll never forget! I heard my cat meowing from the garage while I was upstairs. I hadn't realized how much I'd been missing until that instant. I ran downstairs, ready to free the cat in the garage so many times as she would follow me in and I didn't hear her cry to come out. Unaware and muted. Yes, my nose shape changed slightly. It had to. But in the hands of Dr. Tower who is not only a surgeon but truly an artist, the result is natural, balanced, and thoughtful. Not "different" in a way that takes from you, but refined in a way that gives something back. And that's what he does. He gives people their lives back...in ways they didn't even realize they had lost. At just three weeks out, I can say without hesitation: this changed my life. My deepest respect and gratitude to Dr. Jacob Tower and his exceptional team at The Spiegel Center. I've been around aesthetics long enough to recognize true excellence when I see it. And this is it. I cannot recommend him highly enough!!

My concerns and issues were often dismissed during my follow-up appointments; many times, the doctor just left the room. After seeking second opinions, I was advised that I need surgery to address these functional issues, only then he advised that another surgery may be needed to fix his work. I received vague answers when I asked what had been done during my surgery. I ultimately had to review my operative report to understand what was done. Spiegel your patients deserve better. I hope this review helps anyone seeking surgery with him.

Getting appointments with the practice has been notably smooth throughout my time with them; the staff is willing to work with you based on your needs and clinician availability. I've also enjoyed seeing a few of the other practice members (eg Benitez, Berg, Rodriguez), each of whom is thorough, knowledgeable, and helpful. The use of the Healow medical app as a portal, and their fully integrated connectivity to electronic medical record systems, has given me peace of mind that all my instances of care are suitably connected in one place. It's also convenient to be able to head downstairs for a quick and easy blood draw when required - and again, clear results are available in the app shortly thereafter. I've also noticed the patient set is younger than it used to be - not just geriatrics anymore. As important as anything above, Dr Ruggieri is friendly and engaged during visits, as the rest of the staff I've dealt with are also. I definitely have a "medical home" at Wayland Medical.
