I had a lip blush and ombre brows done by someone else, and although she did a good job, I was wincing in pain. I had to ask for multiple reapplications of the numbing cream, and to be honest, I wish I had found Salin sooner. I had been looking to get eyeliner done because as I age and can no longer see clear up close (don't get me started with trying to put on eyeliner with reading glasses), my eyeliner just looks horrible. After following Salin's page, I decided to go for it. I developed allergies to magnetic eyeliners since I was wearing magnetic lashes, and I needed to do something about my appearance. I made an appointment and drove an hour out to see her. My best advice is to arrive early because of traffic. Yes, you do have to pay before the procedure. The price is adjusted depending on the shape you want. I didn't mind that. I understood that this was a business, and who knows, maybe she got scammed before. Anyway, I was willing to pay extra because I have hooded eyes, and like I mentioned before, I have difficulty putting on eyeliner. Being Asian, my eyes are hooded and small, and I have no eyelid crease. So I have a different problem entirely. We spent a good 30 minutes getting the shape right. I wasn't picky about the shape because she is a professional, and after seeing photos of her work, I trusted her judgment and told her to do what she felt was best. We changed shapes twice, and honestly, I am glad she did. The first drawn in line was ok. However, when my eyes were open, you couldn't see them. She changed it to a different style I have never seen before and WOW! My eyes look way better! I don't look so tired! I will also add that I felt no pain! So much that I fell asleep, and she said I was snoring a little! :) Anyways, the procedure from the time I arrived to the time I left was around 3 hours long. Salin is truly worth it. I will return to her to fix my lip blush. Also, keep in mind. Not many permanent makeup artists work on the eyelid. She is truly a master. For those commenting on thick eyeliner, it is worth it for people with hooded eyes like me. If you had big eyes with an eyelid crease, you may not need it. But for someone with eyelids like mine... I will definitely post before and after pictures once my eyebrows and eyeliner heals. To make a long story short, I had my eyebrows microbladed a couple months ago by someone else. One eyebrow ended up being higher than the other. The eyebrows were not symmetrical. One eyebrow had a high arch, and the other one did not have an arch. I was told that it would lighten, but it did not. I ended up with very uneven thick and dark black eyebrows. That same shop had someone else do my eyeliner. One side ended up thicker than the other. Salin does decent work but is curt that borders on total rudeness. In addition, her deposit policy is ridiculous. Once you have your main microblading done which is within the high reasonable range, you need to schedule a touch up which is another 150 (most places include the touch up in the price of the original work). She makes you pay a 100 deposit for the $150 touch up. The day of my appointment, I got a text saying the person I had an appointment with was sick. So I did not show up. But it turned out to be my other appointment that same day. It was an honest mistake. I asked her if she could credit some of the 100. She texted me her draconian cancellation policy and refused. You have to notify her days in advance of a cancellation and there is no exception for illness including covid. I should have refused to pay the 100 deposit (paying 66% as a deposit for a service is unheard of). I do not recommend her for her business practices. read more

I have eyebrow done by Salin twice, last year for the 1st time and recently 1-year tough up. I had it done in several different places in the past. I think my review can be very fair. I LOVE Salin. She is very different from my other experiences. You can tell that she really loves what she is doing and she is very good at it. Salin's technic and tools are from South Korea (She is a Korean but speak fluent Chinese). South Korea is known for their beauty industry. She has special tools that measure your face and make sure the two eyebrow are identical. i think this is important. Most other places I went, they just use eyeball instead of tools to measure, if you are not lucky, you may get two different eyebrow. But with Salin, you have no risk of that. Salin also has perfect aesthetic sense, and super easy to communicate, so you will for sure get eyebrows you like and suit you great. The price of Salin is too low. (I just want to be honest, hope Salin will not increase the price after my review. Lol.) I forgot how much I paid for the 1st time, but annual touch-up is only $99. I thought annual tough up is easy, just fill up colors in the the original shape. I just learned that eyebrow shape changes as our skin ages. In my 1st annual touch up, Salin spent 3.5 hour on me, including redraw the new shape, discussion. She is so patient and wants everything to be perfect. I am so glad I found Salin on Yelp. I was browsing on Google & Yelp a couple months ago to find the best artist in the area for microblading and was putting it off because of my busy schedules with work and my kids. To my surprise that Salin was just around the corner from where I live. Less than 5 mins drive. Around the end of Oct, I finally had the time to ask Salin some questions on Yelp. She replied me right away despite it was past midnight when I sent her the question. I stopped by her studio that same afternoon to have her checked on my old tattooed brows.
