First off let me say that this review does not reflect any work by Juan or Modern Concrete. This…read morereview is solely based on communication or lack thereof. Had Modern Concrete (MC) come out a few months back to get an idea of what it would cost to lay a slab. They came out and gave the quote accordingly. Fast forward to Nov/Dec. had them come back out to update the quote based off of some changes. That's where the waiting started. After about a week I spoke to Juan and he advised that my quote was first to be completed and get back to me. Well 2 months later, multiple phone calls and text messages and zero answer. I thought maybe something was wrong, but a friend reached out to him, left a message and he quickly responded. What happened?....beats me, I'd love to know. In fact if they are reading this, please reach out or message here to let me know what happened. There was no bad business, no malice and yet the company went dark. Are they like other companies that feel the need to not care cause they have so much business for low?...maybe. Either way, I'd be wary of that fact and would probably look elsewhere. Hope you guys looking for a concrete guy find what you are looking for.

I had received recommendations from friends with similar pavers on who to use to get the pavers sealed... I'm so happy I came across National Sealing. I called, left my info and received a callback shortly after from Kenny; he was very informative and explained that for Travertine, they do not recommend a sealant but rather a coating with beads which lasts closer to 5 years as opposed to sealing every year (my friends seal their pavers annually). The price for the coating was not much higher than for the sealing and my pavers shine beautifully! Marc is the guy that came to my home to apply the coating. He too was very nice and very informative on the process of how he was going to apply the coating and beads along with the benefits of that coating. I am very happy with National Sealing!

He…read morewas quick in his service and sent someone to replace the part- mind you the quality of the work was very poor visually. Trouble was, the sprinkler is still not working, which he blamed on the program. He promised to come fix the problem. He said 9 am, then I called him 4 hours later. He says I'll be there in an hour. I call 3 hrs later, he's 2 hours away. I then call him out on his workmanship quality and quality of communication. So he gets angry and decides he will refund me and take his part back. I say ok. He never shows up. Sunday passes, so I call him this Monday morning. He says he'll be here in an hour. No show. It's pretty clear that he's hoping I'll go away and that Ralph is someone with low integrity. UPDATE: I didn't speak to you in a bad way, I merely pointed out that the sprinkler is in the same shape, with or without your part. You know what's disrespectful? Telling people you will be somewhere and then not show up. Taking payment for a half- way job. Calling your customer disrespectful, when you have poor customer service. Good luck with your business and don't worry, the feeling is mutual. I found a good company to finish your job.
