These girls are awesome! They used to be Studio Anastasia in La Jolla, they have moved to a super cute new location a few blocks away. They are so great with eyebrows (they should be - they are all trained by the queen of brows herself). It does cost more to have your brows done here than at your local nail salon, but trust me when I say that it sooooo worth it!!!! Every single time, I walk out feeling like a million bucks with fantastic brows. The girls are really polite and friendly, and take the time to look at your face and give you the best brow for you, instead of just diving in with a wax stick and hoping for the best. I no longer trust anyone to do my eyebrows, including myself :) Marlena is the best! She's also an amazing Esthetician who is great at determining the best treatment for your skin. I've always had problematic skin but it's finally under control and that has a lot to do with the peels she recommends/performs. I use to be self-conscious about getting facials. When your skin is bad it's embarrassing to have it examined by a stranger so up-close, however, the combination of the relaxing atmosphere and how personable Marlena is instantly put me at ease. You can't put a price on Marlena's services (but I definitely feel like I'm ripping her off), it is very obvious she cares about her clients and takes pride in her work. I went to brow lounge today to get my eyebrows shaped. The girls at reception are a bit snooty, but once you go into the back where the actual cosmetologist are, its a great experience. I went to Stephanie, as I usually do, and see is amazing. She transformed my bushy eyebrows into perfectly arched beauties. She is also super nice. The price is expensive at $40, but it is definitely worth the money. read more

I have been to this establishment twice before with good results. The receptionists have always been very personable and helpful. However, the woman who did my brow wax was a disappointment. She greeted me with a hello and then did not say one word to me the entire time. How was I doing, what did I want, explaining what she was doing....nothing. The work was fine but the experience left me with an extremely negative impression. I got home and thought why on earth did I give her a tip? Bizarre. Not going back. read more

I got my eyebrows done here for prom by Marlena. I am very happy with the results!! At first I was a little worried because I have somewhat thin eyebrows and didn't think there was much to work with. I also feared that I wouldn't have any eyebrows left by the end of my appointment. To my surprise, Marlena did an incredible job. She brought out the eyebrows I didn't know I had and now my eyebrows actually look thick and shaped. I am still in shock. Although this location isn't a very personal experience and they jump from one costumer to the next, I will definitely be getting my eyebrows done more regularly here. The shop is also very cute and when I left my eyebrows weren't too red to the point where I'd be embarrased to be in public. read more

I normally see Stephanie but if I can't get an appointmnt with her I know I can trust any of the girls to make me look beautiful. If you want your brows done right you have to go to the Brow Lounge. They take pride in their work and I was shocked how many people actually noticed how good my brows look. The salon is clean and elegant looking just like the girls who work there. I always feel like I am having a fun afternoon with my girlfriends when I am there. They are all so warm and inviting. They just lost a very loyal customer today. I have been going to Brow Lounge for years, since it was Anastasias and it was at another location. I was going to Krystl but since she is on maternity leave I had to go to Stephanie. The first time she did my brows she did a good job but this time half of one of my brows is completely GONE!! I knew something was wrong when it took her longer than usual and she kept fussing with them...standing up to look and them and so on. She even told me it was spars. Which wasn't the case before i sat in the chair. She also insisted I started growing that part out and to use their grow gel. Which I though was strange....Once I left I noticed something was off....half my brow!!!. One brow looked completely different and shorter than the other. I called to complain but they said nothing could be done. To let it grow out and come again. Really???? I'm not. I'm not the kind of person who complains....but the way it was handled wasn't what I expected from a business that I've been loyal to for years. It's sad that they don't value their clients, no one should pay $40 for their brows in this economy and feel the way I did today when they walk out the door. I've decided to make an appointment at another brow place I found through this site. Luckily for me my brows grow quickly.... read more

I had a not so great experience for my first visit here but I will be back and I'll tell you why. First off, the price is totally in line with other brow shaping salons, so that's a non-issue. Unfortunately the wax was too hot and I ended up with a burn on my eyebrow. Luckily I wasn't getting married on Saturday ;-), that would have been a real bummer. It took about 6 days for the burn to totally heal. But, I'll be back because when I wrote an e-mail explaining my experience I received a phone call from the owner apologizing and offering a comp for my next service if I'm willing to come back and a hand written note from Annie. The shaping and tinting were beautiful!! Annie did an amazing job. I will definitely be back. The fabulous follow up customer service showed me that they really care about their customers. So often when I use an online coupon I'm made to feel like a second class citizen coming in for a freebie. Those are places that don't care if you come back or not. Brow Lounge has a forever customer in me. Parking stinks...but that's not their fault, that's La Jolla in general. So just plan in advance. read more
