I booked on Tuesday evening for Thursday afternoon. Unsurprisingly (it happens with that site), it was a double booking. Thankfully, though, Kaldev emailed me on Wednesday morning about it and managed to find me a Wednesday afternoon slot at 4.15pm. I got such a warm welcome from him when I came in and was settled in to fill out my intake form. Kuldip (who happens to be his wife), was my therapist and brought me into the treatment room. She was very sweet and made sure that the temperature of the room was OK for me before leaving me to get ready. The facial was great - very relaxing, but felt like it actually made a difference to my skin too. She's clearly skilled, and the facial massage was just fabulous. She asks if you'd like her to chat or stay quiet and I chose chat, so left starving because I got a list of the best desserts in the area. Yum! Besides the facial being excellent and the welcome being so incredibly warm, I'll also be returning because it's their own business and they work incredibly hard to make it a success. It's worth rewarding that. And it's hardly a hardship for me to do it by having a pampering session from incredibly friendly people. Can't wait for the next time!

Located within TipTop Photography on the corner of Warstone Lane and Spencer Street, you ascend up a non-descript staircase and into Beena's neutrally designed studio. Beena was incredibly welcoming and the addition of Radio 2 in the background made me feel very relaxed. She asked me what my normal routine was for my eyebrows, and considering I don't normally do anything, this bit of the conversation was rather short! Beena then talked me through what she was going to do and then began to tweeze and thread. I'd not really had threading done before, so it took a bit of getting used to, but I managed it! The whole process took about ten minutes and afterwards I was thoroughly impressed, I have two eyebrows and they are perfectly shaped! A decade on, and I haven't found a better waxing salon. They do offer many other treatments such as laser hair removal, nails, facials and massages. Yet I cannot emphasise enough how talented these beauticians are at removing hair so effectively, quickly and painlessly. Obviously waxing hurts (depending on your pain threshold) but these guys have been the least painful to the MANY salons I've tried out. Nikky was my favourite therapist but she has sadly moved on. However, the rest of the team is just as fantastic. The prices are steeper than other places I've been to but it's worth every penny when you know you're getting superb service. They're very hygienic in their waxing implementation, always run on time and have a great loyalty scheme.

Thereafter, during the full body scrub and spa treatment, I felt it was a rushed affair with the 60 minute session completed in 50 minutes, towards the end I felt the masseuse was falling short of enough oil to massage and it was almost dry and I had to remind her that she has left out the abdominal area. I also kept requesting for increased pressure during massage but it just wasn't enough! On constant reminder that my package included a bath soak, my masseuse kept refusing and later the receptionist confirmed that she had forgotten to inform the masseuse. I was later compensated by a joint soak with my husband where we were crammed up in a corner bathtub so neither of us enjoyed the soak and eventually were left feeling rather disappointed than rejuvenated. :( I hope the team works more diligently on customer service.

The salon is fairly new and well maintained with a clean and fresh look. I bought a course of treatments, which were conducted by various staff members each time I attended. I think it would have been more helpful to have been treated by one consultant consistently so that they would be familiar to me and the area I was getting treated. They sell Jane Iredale make-up, which is fantastic for your skin. It's mineral-based so does good to your skin whilst making you look good! However, when I brought a friend in to sample it she was told that they don't try it out on people, which defeats the purpose of trying to sell it.
