She has spent countless hours training and learning in Europe and is an expert in skincare. In addition, she is so kind and gives great advice for both skincare and life! The ambiance is a quaint shop, well decorated and lit. It is usually filled with both customers doing haircare and those awaiting services. Her facial area is a cozy room in the back where she takes you to get comfortable and settled. The facial itself is amazing and better than any facial I had ever had. It is definitely a worthwhile experience. Sophia relaxes you and positions you into a lympy massaging suit. While you are getting massaged sophia takes the best care of your skin. For me she did several face masks, an oxygen treatment, diamond microdermabrasion and several other things all of which made my skin look amazing. She not only worked on my face, but my chest, neck and decolletage as well. She even exfoliated my back which had some eczema. She also massaged my neck and scalp and washed my hair when it was all done to ensure it was product free and I didn't shower off my facial for at least a day. My face the day of and even for week after was GLOWING. I've never had great skin, but didn't even need makeup for a few days after. Sophia also sells a variety of european products for skincare and recommended a few for me. These products felt so clean compared to what I usually buy at department stores and helped reduce my skin redness, scarring and inflammation. She really knows what your skin needs. In addition, she even made me a custom cream when I had a mini breakout. Overall, if you are looking for an epic facial this is it! You may find you'll just have to come back for Sophia's wonderful expertise and kind advice not to mention the special products she offers. Highly highly recommend Sophia's european salon!

Wish I got the girls name because she gave me an amazing massage. Left my feet feeling like jello. The vibe here is that of a nail salon with massage chairs. Be careful though because these chairs can leave you sore if you choose a hard setting. Came over to this salon to visit old stomping grounds and it's a good salon. Parking can be tricky. Making the appointment through Vagaro was easy, walked me through a thorough intake form, and allowed me to choose my esthetician. I went with Allegra who was a darling from the minute I stepped into Dermaspace. Any worries or fears quickly drifted off given the dim lighting, chill music and zen ambiance. Allegra had a sweet personality, explained the entire process from start to finish, was knowledgeable about anything related to skincare and health, and most importantly, gentle. The facial was around an hour and fifteen minutes, including a discussion of my skin concerns, allergies, goals, etc. It consisted of roughly four total steps: 1) Gentle facial cleansing and exfoliation 2) Moisturization and detoxification using yucca soaked cloth within a volcanic heated cone 3) Deep cleaning of my entire face, clearing out any and all clogged pores 4) Ionization facial wrap of nourishing cotton with a leather mask connected to low voltage electrical current in order to ionize the solution. Afterwards, my face felt completely refreshed and as if years were taken off. There is a reason it has won the best facial in Seattle/PNW for many years--the treatment is truly results driven and very effective. I plan to be back soon.

I brought myself a deal from local twist site for a massage at this place, and went there yesterday…read moreto use it. It was very much mediocre experience. The spa itself is cute and pleasant looking. My hot stone massage experience SUCKED in a major way. My biggest disappointment was with my one hour massage session being used as a training session without asking me if that was OK with me. I had two people in the room, one was a primary masseuse, Helen, and a student, who barely looked 18 to me. Helen's touch is OK when she works the muscle, but her knowledge of pressure points is very limited, and it becomes more of "This feels tight to me, I am going to press as hard as I can, and hope it loosens the tight spot." There is a different between firm touch versus putting a lot of pressure on random spots. It was most uncomfortable when she tried to massage my pelvic bones, chest, and stomach, as well as during my scalp massage. The second most annoying thing was Helen giving lectures/directions to the young girl throughout the session. Did they think that whispering somehow equals to silence? Another reason for my annoyance was the student getting her hands on me at some point during the massage. I specifically asked for someone with the firm touch, and while the student was super sweet, she is clearly not someone who has been trained, and I am not thrilled that my time and my body was used as a training ground without my agreeing to it. Because the student lacked training few times she ended up digging stones in my body in very painful ways. It was painful enough I had to tell her to stop. And by stop I meant "Please don't touch me anymore." Instead it was interpreted as something else. What really did me in were last two things. One, Helen asking me if I liked getting a massage from two people at the same time, and immediately answering for me that of course I must loved it because it is so special. Second, when I was leaving the tip at the front desk I told the front desk lady that I wasn't happy with two people in the room, and before using me and my time as a training ground, the spa should have checked with me that it was OK to do. She pretended to give me a surprised look that read "What are you talking about?" (Did she think that I just made it up?), and treated me to complete silence on the subject. I also didn't appreciate Helen hovering behind my back while I was at the front desk leaving a tip. Personally I am not going back to that spa myself. There are plenty of neat small spas throughout Seattle, with the staff that is a lot more knowledgeable and friendlier. For anyone who is planning to go to the spa, I recommend talking out all the details before coming to the spa, and speak out right away if something in your service deviates from what you would expect in the spa.

I wanted to treat my best friend to a spa day and found the $139 deal for Spa Mercer that included:…read more60 minute massage, mud bath, and body scrub. We added on signature facials and booked. Mud Bath / Body scrub: This was a little inconsistant - they gave me disposable briefs to wear but the rest of you is totally bare. My friend was NOT given briefs and was told to just go naked. The little gal spoke hardly any English and used a brochure to explain what was happening/next. (You sat in a tub for a little bit, she gave a scalp massage while you were in there. Then you layed on a plastic bed while she basically bathed you. First a scrub mitt, then salt scrub, then honey bath, then rinsed off with a shower). FELT AMAZING. A little weird at first to have someone doing this to you, but it wasn't uncomfortable once she got going. 4.5 stars (only for the inconsistancy) Facial: AMAZING. We both loved it. Much more soothing than acne facials I've had before. They also do the skin above your breasts which I thought was great as I tend to have good facial skin and issues there. 5 stars Friends Massage: My friend had a massage with a gal with blonde hair (may have had dreadlocks) and LOVED it. We both get massages quite often, and she loved that she was able to get a mixture of deep tissue and relaxation. This was her favorite part of the day. 5 stars. My massage: I had Helen and I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND a massage from her. I've had massages monthly for about 3 years and I have never been in so much pain or had anything like this. She climbed on my back and used her knees for pressure and it was SO UNCOMFORTABLE. She has no finesse, no grace, no real technique, just "it's tight here, so I'll push really hard". It was awful. O stars. I would reccomend this spa for thier treatment. Clarify ahead of time what to expect if you're concerned about disposable briefs or anything. AVOID HELEN FOR MASSAGE.

My first impression of the facility was that it was clean and reminded me a little of Scandinavian style with light wood finishes and simple, classy design. There was a cozy place with chairs and a couch and a fireplace to lounge in, with turmeric ginger tea, strawberry water, regular water, and a few snacks (I didn't have any, I think it was nuts and dried fruit?). The locker room was spacious with a sauna, two huge showers, two toilets, and a changing area with lockers. some toiletries were provided as well. I appreciated that the lockers had a keypad so I didn't have to carry around a key. You can change in the changing area, but if you want more privacy, you are encouraged to go behind the door of the shower, where there's plenty of room to change. The sauna was nice and hot. Loved it. We both opted for the Om package which included a facial and a massage with one enhancement of choice. I have to say, the massage tables here are the most comfortable ones I've ever experienced. They are heated for your comfort, although they can turn off the heat if you run hot. My massage with Allison was lovely and super relaxing. Afterwards, I was brought back to the lounge area where I met up with my friend again and waited for my facial. The aesthetician, Kat, immediately gave off warm and friendly vibes, and I knew right away that she was going to be great. Her recommendations were spot on and her technique was fantastic. Again, so relaxing and I wish I didn't have to leave. Hands down the best facial I have ever experienced. We were allowed to check in an hour prior to our appointments and stay as long as we wanted it afterwards We ended up staying and talking for a couple more hours and enjoying the atmosphere. Every single person we encountered was kind, helpful, and seemed happy to be there. They have product recommendations at the end, but no hard upsell which I appreciated. I will 100% return.
