Please do not even consider hiring this electrician!!! Dan Adams and his crew were hired by my…read morebuilder to do the electrical system for my new construction. Dan Adams was the worst part of my building experience. Dan is a quiet but relatively cordial electrician. Unfortunately, he is incredibly slow at completing his work, and the slow speed at which he completed projects during the construction of my custom home was single-handedly responsible for delaying my home's construction. Several times I reached out to him during the build, and on only 2-3 of the 10 or so times I reached via text out did he reply. Once, when I emailed him a detailed diagram of what wattage lights go where, he completely ignored my email. When my builder was able to contact Dan to have him come complete tasks he either did not compete or completed incorrectly, Dan would fail to show up without explanation on more than one occasion. In addition to his slow pace and completely unreliable schedule, he poorly wired several areas in my house causing my builder to have to hire an additional electrician to complete the project. I used Legrand lighting, which Dan begrudgingly learned for the job. In attempting to contact Dan to complete a few items after the construction was complete due to Dan's prior use of the product, Dan committed to coming back to my house only to then ignore future texts and calls. In speaking with my builder about my frustration with Dan Adams, my builder notified me that Dan's poor performance lead to him making the decision not to use Dan on any future projects despite a 10+ year relationship between them. I would advise future builders to stay away from this man and his company, and I would caution people who might hire him to think twice due to his poor workmanship and communication.

Branham Electric Service - Kitchen light needs repaired

Poor customer service from beginning to end. During the build it was very difficult to get anyone…read moreto call us back to answer questions. When I emailed Branham with my questions and asked for a return call (over a year into the build), they refused to speak with me and insisted we now must go through our builder to answer any questions. In the same email, they informed us they would not order any of our choices until we paid the overage upfront. At the initial meeting we were told that allowances from appliances and flooring could be shifted to cover the overages, so to be told we would have to pay now and before anything was ordered was unexpected. After moving in, we discovered the lighting was not configured correctly in the kitchen and the office. The kitchen light was linked to 6 disk lights instead of being on its own circuit. The switch for the office fan was located outside the office door, so there were no light switches inside the office. In addition, the office fan switch controlled the disk light, so we couldn't turn on the fan unless the disk light stayed on. We called and arranged for them to correct their errors. I even accepted a fix to separate the kitchen light that eliminated the option to have lighting over the island separate from the ceiling disk lights (to keep them separate would have required opening the ceiling). The electrician team that came in to complete the fixes were professional and did a fantastic job. They were friendly and worked quickly. The same person who was lax about returning my calls throughout the build, promptly called me after the electrician team left. She tried to bill me for the work they had done. I explained that this work was to correct errors and was related to the 30 day punchlist I submitted to our builder. In addition, the bill they sent had charges that we acknowledged but the Total on that bill was $0.00. She was rude and unprofessional the entire conversation, so I refused to continue speaking with her and asked her to put her concerns in writing. They neglected to install a wifi coax cable, so we are currently using the wall mount in our bedroom instead of mounting a tv there. They did not even discuss the installation of any ethernet cables in the house so all 4 of our wall mount tvs have to run on wifi. I have added these to the 30-day punch list, but given our interactions with Branham Electric, I do not have faith they will correct their errors. They tried to bill me for corrections on a new build instead of acknowledging their errors in lighting configurations and promptly fixing it. The electrician who did the walk-through with our builder is supposed to be a professional who considers the unique needs of the house. The electrician should know disk lights should not be tied to decorative lighting fixtures or ceiling fans. In addition, a professional electrician in 2022 should know wall mounted tv's require ethernet cable connections in the wall mounts and a separate coax cable location for wifi.

I have a 22' high ceiling and needed to replace the fan. I'd called three other companies and two…read moreof them gave more ballpark figures of $175 - $300, with a fourth company wanting to send out a man to estimate the job (they did after much chagrin, and he showed up alone with no help, and gave me a discounted price of $506). Branham's person on the phone spoke with her operations manager and got back to me with a price of $295. They said they could be there in three days to do the job, which was faster than the others (with the exception of the $506 company that took two days with delays even to get one guy out there). So I scheduled the install at 7:45AM. Two guys showed up at 7:45AM, brought in their 16 foot ladder which was almost a three man job getting that thing in the air. They had the old fan removed, the new fan up, and took the old fan with them to junk it rather than me having to haul it to the front yard. Total price was $295. I must say the service was outstanding. On time, no problems, courteous, and did a great job. I had actually used Branham to install the original fan back in 2003. Good to know there's some good companies out there with good employees. I told him I was sort of interested in replacing my foyer light and he said they have an office in Elgin that carries a full assortment of chandeliers and lights and could get anything I wanted. Looks like I may have to pay them a visit. Highly recommend them for any ceiling fan installs!
