This is Pittsburgh best kept secret. It's down under a church of epiphany in the hill district. Yinz offer coffee, bake goods and food and free wifi. Nice atmosphere and All the employees that work there our awesome. Hope this place stays open for all!! read more

this cafe was super cute and comforting!! i tried the flapjack latte and it was definitely sweet as i like my coffee. the workers were super friendly and welcoming, and gave my friends and i a college discount without asking us and assumed we were college students (which we were) since we came in with our backpacks. for any duquesne students, this is another must try cafe super close to campus if you're tired of starbucks lol. they also have a spacious table area and is perfect for getting any work done. read more

A true treasure in the city of Pittsburgh! Brother Andre's is located in the basement of Ephiany church right next to the arena. The space is decorated very cute with a variety of seating options. The menu features typical coffee shop drinks, monthly specials and a variety of breakfast and lunch options. One of my favorite things about Brother Andre's is that if employs individuals with mental and physical disabilities. These baristas are full of joy and wonderful people who likely would have a challenge finding employment. If you are in the downtown area, definitely visit. But even if you aren't, it's worth a visit! read more

Saw the cafe on social media ...only 10 min from my home actually only 10-15 min from almost anywhere in the city. 5 stars on parking! They have their own easy peasy parking lot. Cafe is located lower level of the big red church you can't miss it. I received more than a delicious cup of coffee from Brother Andre's Cafe. The atmosphere was warm and spacious, we felt we could talk without being rushed and overheard. It says they are closed on yelp but they open 730am Mon -friday. My favorite coffee place in town! Staff is a amazing, the drinkings are so good and now they have lunch items like humus wraps and turkey wraps and cookies and so many other things even home made soaps. It's also a beautiful building and they have their own parking lot. Always my go to when down down. read more

What a great mission! I love what this cafe is doing to support adults with IDD. They're giving adults with IDD a chance to work and have fun while working. The shop offers a list of coffees and teas, plus cookies, coffee beans/subscriptions and more. I love the London Fog drink. Check them out next time you're around PPG Arena/downtown! read more

This cozy little coffee shop gave me the feels!! I work downtown and sometimes park at PPG. I was jonesing for a cup of coffee on the walk to my building and saw a little blue sign for Brother Andre's. I followed the signs into the back door of a church. At first I thought it was a little strange and didn't know what sort of place I was going to end up in but after entering the church basement there is a legit adorable coffee shop located there! The people, including the patrons, were all so friendly and welcoming. The prices and the ice coffee I got were good. It was clean. They had a little shop where they sold coffee and trinkets. My favorite thing about this coffee whip is that they employ people with Intellectual disabilities. It's so nice to be able to support a good cause! read more

Imagine: You are in a new city. You know no one. You have no car. You have no breakfast. You set out on foot to the local Starbucks, which should be only steps away according to the maps app. (insert sad horn.. waa waa waaaaaahhh) Starbucks has been closed for business. But alas, a friendly citizen of Pittsburgh offers an alternative. She suggests I walk across the street to the big red church, go around to the lower level, and check out the coffee shop there. Wait... so there is a coffee shop in the church basement, and you think that I will like it as much as Starbucks? Mmmmkay. Suuuuuure. But, I needed coffee. Badly. So I gave Brother Andre's a try. Listen. This is the real deal. The coffee is DELICIOUS, dare I say my drink was BETTER than the shaken espressos I have been getting all week at the chain, and I didn't contribute to any corporate greed. If you just want to be a great person, Brother Andre's employs amazing people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, who are sure to brighten your day with a friendly hello! The place also offers Wi-Fi and free parking, and along with the amazing coffee, you can grab cookies, scones, breakfast sandwiches, fruit cups, salads, and other goodies! Best fish and chips I've had in recent memory. Perfect crispy potato goodness, super good fried fish, fair prices. Great dining environment, perfect friendly service, it was fast, I don't have any recommendations. Come here for lunch during Fridays u won't be disappointed. Feel better about your morning coffee and support this great business! Ample parking which is hard to come by downtown, plenty of seating and nice employees who take care to make your drink special (see picture)! They employ adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities who work hard and make your experience great. five stars. hands down. i volunteer with a special olympics sports group and it makes me so happy to see such a loving and fostering and caring environment and place of work. i will come here every time i want a coffee and i can. this was just such a great vibe. they have free parking and everyone is just so kinda and nice. the grilled cheese was also amazing. loved the service and the mission. read more

This shop is part of a larger chain but currently appears to be the only location in the Pittsburgh area. It's located in East Liberty and is really more of a bakery than a coffee shop. The inside is split about 50/50, with half dedicated to seating and the other half serving as a self-serve bakery. You grab a tray and tongs before walking around selecting whichever baked goods catch your eye. They also have display cases filled with cakes and other pastries that need to be kept refrigerated. For my coffee on this morning I went with a 16 oz hot honey lavender macchiato while my wife chose a 16 oz iced tiramisu latte. I have to admit that the name of my drink confused me a bit at first, but it ended up being a latte macchiato as expected. With that being said, I thought it was quite good. The lavender was light enough to be noticeable without overpowering the drink, while the honey added just the right amount of sweetness. The espresso was also present, especially on the finish, where it added both flavor and body. My wife also enjoyed her latte and appreciated the tiramisu flavors throughout. Outside of the coffee, we ordered a number of pastries. My wife chose the Crookie, which is a cookie baked on top of a croissant. My son picked out a chocolate-covered Belgian waffle, while my daughter chose the strawberry soft bread. All of them enjoyed what they ordered, and I think my wife especially loved the Crookie. As for me, I went a little overboard and chose a garlic and cheese croissant, a curry croquette, pork-dusted bread, and a sweet taro cream bread. All of them were delicious in their own way. The garlic and cheese croissant was a nice savory option, with plenty of garlic flavor and a crispy cheese crust. The curry croquette had wonderful warming spices that made it especially flavorful. The pork-dusted bread was definitely the most unusual item. The pork topping reminded me of Wild Bill's Beef Jerky, and somehow those savory flavors worked really well on top of the crunchy laminated bread. Last but certainly not least was the taro cream bread. I was impressed by how light it felt despite being packed with an impressive amount of cream filling. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again in the future. I'm a sucker for bakeries like this and clearly ordered far more than my waistline needed, but everything I tried was enjoyable. While the coffee was good, the pastries are the real reason to visit, with the coffee serving as an excellent complement.

While I waited in a slowly moving line of other customers to order from the bakery, I browsed the shelves in the market. I saw cheeses, bottled beverages such as wines, packaged foods such as grape leaves, and chocolates. I could not find price tags on all foods, so I recommend that those be added. I purchased three baked goods for a total of $15. I rate the croissticky as 5 stars, the cinnamon roll as 3.5 stars, and the raisin-oatmeal cookie as 4 stars.

Coffee: A+ : can't get much better than La Prima beans Cookies: 5-stars : gluten-free peanut-butter is actually tastier than any glutenous cookie I've ever consumed Employees: Three-thumbs up : genuine people who care less about your money and more about you knowing you're valued. Incredible opportunity for adults with IDD to have meaningful work and for people like us to share in their joy.
