Good outdoor seating. Great coffee and reasonable food.read more

At 12pm on the 19th of January I, along with two others attended the bakery and were served by two…read morefemales - one older and one younger. As soon as we entered the store, we were presented with poor customer service. Regretfully, we decided to place our order of 3 coffees and 3 hot pastries totalling $26. The coffees were decent, save seeing a cockroach crawling on the paper coffee cups. The pastries, however, were severely undercooked and as we bit into it it was completely and utterly cold (not even lukewarm - thankfully they were only spinach and feta). We took it back and the only action they took was to reheat the food we has bitten into. 8 minutes later, we decided to try again. This time, they were overcooked. What the employee failed to do was check the temperature of the food with a thermometer. Thankfully it wasn't chicken or other meat. On top of it all, no remedies were given to us, not even an apology from either woman. If you do decide to go here, make sure to bring a thermometer to make sure you don't get sick from the food. Also make sure to also check if cockroaches aren't crawling inside your coffee cup. I've never made a complaint about a store before, but putting this to the attention of potential customers is important as it poses a serious health risk. It would have been fine if they did apologise for their mistake and offer a remedy - but it did not even seem like they thought it was a mistake. Be wary if you choose to come here.

This is a tiny place with a few tables inside and more outside. We sat inside because there were…read morechairs, not backless stools. I had my usual flat white plus a slice of blueberry banana bread. Sonny had a cold latte and brekkie sandwich while grandson had a banana smoothie. My coffee was delicious, with the usual artistic design on top. The generous slice of blueberry banana bread was heated and came with a pat of butter and a tiny ramekin of honey. I dunked a piece in the honey but honestly liked it better without. The smoothie was large, and I thought it might be too much for grandson. Since they use paper straws, he did need another one when the first one collapsed, but managed to drink most of it. Sonny's bacon and egg roll was a perfect soft-cooked egg with spinach, avocado and of course bacon on a soft bun. He didn't comment on it, so he must have liked it. It looks a bit like a hole in the wall kind of place, but the drinks and food we had were on point.

Great place all round…read more Smooth tasty coffee with a few different bean choices for those who want to splurge. I got a cappuccino and it was awesome. Extra points for having powdered coco on top instead of chocolate. Ordered the poached eggs with bacon and spinach which ticked every box a bacon and eggs should. My mates got other things on the menu which looked just as good. There is also a sweets cabinet for those coming here in the afternoon or who can justify eating a Cronut at 9am. Sadly I am not one of those people and so could only look longingly at the cupcakes, brownies and Cronuts- but I am determined to be back to get one! The atmosphere is really relaxed and welcoming. All the tables are recycled spools (I think that is what they are called??) and the chairs have padding made of coffee bean sacks. It's well put together and works for this industrial, beaches location. All the staff are heaps chilled and friendly which only adds to everything. If you are after a be good cafe in Mona- this is the place!
