C is for cookie, and cookie is for me!…read more What a quaint little place! The monster cookie was recommended to me, but they were sold out by the time my group moseyed in (they did have monster BARS though). My stash included a snickerdoodle (yum!), heath (double yum!), and the last cowboy cookie (choc chips, rice krispies, and nuts maybe?). +10 points to the lady at the cashier who said "and the last cowboy cookie is riding off into the distance...". Guffaw, snort, giggle. I prefer my cookies a little chewier, but I'd come back if I'm ever back in SD again. P.S. Besides oodles of cookies, they have some cakes and diner food (which can be ordered to go).

I love Lava's Javas! When we first moved to Harrisburg we went in and thought it was a neat space…read moreand ended up buying something for our kitchen. They recently had a fun celebration with an Easter bunny and activities for kids. My family had a great time. During this time was when I tried their small Chi Latte and realized it was the absolute best tasting Chi I've ever had in my entire life. My wife agreed and since then I've been back 3 times for my favorite. I'm going to have to try something else because I'm sure it's great but I already have a favorite. It's such a yummy treat that it's going to be hard for me to keep it at once a week or every other week. Along with the great tasting Chi's the space is so fun. I could easily go on and read a book and just hang out and enjoy the ambience. Come check out a neat little treasure in Harrisburg!

This place keeps transforming over the years. The location used to be an open-concept with some…read moretoys/play area for kids to use while you sat and had coffee. There was a little children's boutique on half of the space, but you couldn't actually purchase from the boutique the majority of the time because Lava's wasn't affiliated. The space has been transitioned into a large children's play space with playhouses, toys, large indoor sandbox, and water tables. Once again, there's not affiliation with the play areas and Lava's. The playhouses and toys aren't blocked off, so it's difficult to keep children from playing with them while sitting at a table adjacent to a bunch of toys, but you can't play without paying, but there isn't anyone there to pay because the hours don't coincide. Therefore, you have Lava's employees scolding children for playing without paying, yet it's all open with easy access for kids, so that's frustrating. I'm also disappointed in Lava's staff and the lack of mask-wearing or gloving. I purchased a donut, and they took my cash payment and immediately grabbed the donut without washing hands in between handling cash, and they grabbed the donut with bare hands. I think the coffee is excellent, and it's a great space, but it's unfortunate that Lava's essentially got rid of their children's area and another small business owner is charging to use the area, but their hours don't align with the coffee shop.

However, once she placed her order, it was another 50 minutes before she got her food!!! If this was the first time these folks had cooked in their truck I could understand it. This was going to be a big crowd - they had to know that. If you are running a food truck and can't cook fast enough to fill orders you should at least have the decency to tell people how long they will have to wait. Especially if it was going to take 50 minutes to cook one order. Ridiculous. You lost this customer for life. Not going to recommend this place to my friends either.
