You can't find better than buying directly from the orchard and garden! I feel so fortunate to have this orchard close enough to stop by weekly. I've been here a number of times and everything has been so full of fresh picked flavor. You can buy from their farm stand market or pick your own. How much fun to pick fruit off the tree with your family to get the freshest possible, have fun and a bit of a workout. They have all kinds of fruit. Different types of peaches, plums, nectarines, blueberries, raspberries, apples, pears, watermelon, cantaloupe, honeydew plus other fruits they sell at much better prices than corporate stores. For example, lemons were .99 each at a regular grocery and 2 for $1 here! And the lemons looked real and not hard like the ones in town. They also have veggies. Fresh corn on the cob, cabbage, tomatoes, green beans, onions, potatoes and others! They have beans, lentils, Juanita's tortilla chips, salsa, jams, jellies, local honey and so much that I can't even remember!! Like and follow Brosi Sugartree Farms on Facebook to stay up on what's in season and prices. They accept cash, debit and credit cards, checks, EBT and WIC plus Senior Vouchers. They don't take WIC Cards and American Express. Bring baskets, pails or other containers to pick fruit and save the containers mushrooms and fruit come in to take home your produce...plus don't forget reusable bags to carry it all home!! I highly recommend and will definitely be back weekly to get what's in season.

I love this place. Can't wait every year for the store to open every spring and am sad when they close in November!

I love getting my fresh produce here, also a great place to get your local honey for a great price.

Friendly staff, a great dog that we had fun playing with. Slim pickings this time of year, but we still had fun!

    How is the tomato crop?

Just left Brosi’s. They had boxes of tomatoes so it looks good. There were Roma, Heirloom, Beefsteak and Cherry tomatoes. The cherry tomatoes were really tasty, too!

Rays is just a smaller version of your regular store with a really good ethnic food section. The prices are surprisingly good, too. I have started buying more and more things here. They have most everything you need. They don't have one of my favorite brands but neither does the big store in town. They have really gorgeous decorative plates, cups and other items that would be perfect in a home. I do recommend stopping at Rays. I will definitely be back.

She talked us through what she liked in the deli and gave us samples. As a result, we picked out a great selection of sliced meats and salads. Next we found the cheese areas. The selection was not large but we were able to find a couple of types that we liked. We quickly found a loaf of bread that went well with the cheese and meat. We stumbled upon a displace of local jams and spreads. We limited ourselves to a couple of items but easily could have bought one of each from the display. Finally, I wanted a nice local wine. Unfortunately, all I could find was California wines. I picked one that I knew that my friend really liked. The woman at the check out was very friendly and happy to tell us about what we purchased. On our way out the door we stopped to talk to the woman watering the tomato plants. We would have talked to her longer but we were hungry. We tried out the jams over lunch and loved them. A couple of days later we returned intent on stocking up on the local jams and spreads. They were almost sold out.

My problem with dollar stores in general is the amount of plastic and cheap products made in other than the US brought in on an endless run of container ships. I do find items here that I need for projects like hard to find in town items like ammonia and snack products.

I tell him I just need some plastic food containers and he doesn't tell me where I can find them, but he does "escort" me over to where they are located. In the end they did not have the style of container I needed, and I ended up going to the Dollar Tree and buying them instead. After all that fun at Dollar General I am surprised that I wasn't told to take my pants off. My pants had some nice large side pockets, something that easily could have stashed some nice items! Anyway, I will stay FAR away from Dollar General since they treat new customers like crooks!

What I got was a large breaded and fried piece of chicken so slathered in honey the bun had completely dissolved on the bottom. I am not sure what lemon was involved. It was tasty, but so incredibly messy I had to take the lettuce and cucumber off and eat separately and left the bun. Issue is, the napkins are super cheap and thin and there is no public restroom or tap water to get the sticky mess off of my hands. I used the bottled water I got to put little bits in my hands at a time and use 25 napkins. I felt silly leaving such a mess (contained to the to go box it came in) but I wasn't left with any other option. I'd come back again if they remedy the sanitary issues (offer wet wipes??) because the flavor was good and staff super nice. But I now know better than to eat a special sandwich next time I try it. :)
