You have to go down the road a ways to find the gate in the fence to get in. But it's there. Trust me. Once you get there and meet Scott & Jennifer Henry, you'll want to stay a while. This is an outgoing couple that's passionate about their wines and about growing succulent house plants. They are very good at both. They have no vineyards of their own, but buy grapes from growers across Southern Oregon. They feel this arrangement allows them to get grapes from many different regional climates and greatly expands the variety they have to work with. And not tending a vineyard gives them more time to devote to wine making. Their results are impressive. For Rose, we took home a bottle of 2013 "Transparency", a white blend of 57% Muller Thurgau, 28% Muscat and 15% Riesling. Delightfully fruity, slightly sparkling, slightly sweet. For me we got the 2012 Syrah, actually a blend of 75% Syrah and 25% Grenache, a very interesting raspberry and spice experience. If the tasting room is a bit hard to find and keeps short hours, it's okay. You can find their products on some local grocery store shelves, including Sherm's Thunderbird in Roseburg.
