The grounds are well maintained and look very nice. Parking can be a little tricky, especially if there is more than one service happening at the same time, like the night that I attended. When I walked in the front door, there were directional signs as well as staff members to direct traffic to the appropriate service. The facility is nice and has a large chapel for services as well as rooms for families to greet guests. It has a very LDS feel to it, from the décor to the LDS hymnals in the chapel. Although based on another review, I'm sure they will accommodate other religions/beliefs as well.

In the days leading up to her passing, I was in no mood to do a lot of research and price comparisons with mortuaries. I had received a few recommendations from local friends and acquaintances, and Utah Valley Mortuary was the first (and only) place I called to make arrangements, in an almost arbitrary selection process. I was fortunate, then, that Matt and his team were extremely sensitive and professional from the very beginning. As others have mentioned, their pricing is reasonable and they didn't push us to buy anything we didn't feel we needed, which was great because when we buried our father 12 years ago the mortuary we used attempted to prey on our grief and push us to spend unnecessarily. Mom's body needed to be transported to California for burial and Matt was literally right at our side through the entire process of coordinating with the receiving mortuary. He made sure we understood all the expenses that the other guys were charging us as well. When we found out that our cemetery wouldn't be able to schedule us for burial for several weeks, Matt let us store the body on his site for extra time at no extra charge. I had Matt's cell phone number in order to call and text him on short notice and he was always so quick to respond. If I lived in Utah Valley I would plan on using this mortuary for all future services involving the passing of my loved ones. But since I don't, the best I can do for now is to strongly recommend Utah Valley Mortuary to you and anyone else looking for the highest quality assistance in dealing with end of life logistics. They were sensitive to our heightened emotions and did their work with great care and respect. Similarly, the staff at Larkin Sunset Gardens were professional and considerate as we planned my mother's funeral. Aaron Miller and Garrett Nelson were helpful while reviewing with us my parents' pre-planned burial arrangements and planning my mother's funeral. I was relieved that we were not hustled into paying more than necessary and that Larkin honored the terms of the arrangements that my parents had previously made and paid for. When it came time to dress my mother, Funeral Director Coltin Morrison was gentle and helpful. He worked with great care to assist us. I appreciated that he took the extra step to steam my mother's clothing before we dressed her. Finally, during my mother's funeral, the Larkin staff who assisted us there were professional and thorough in taking care of all the necessary details. All in all, the experience of saying goodbye to a loved one is very emotional and heart-wrenching. There's parking along the front entrance but I usually pull into the side and park beside the grave site for easier access. Plus on windy and cold days it's handy to have the car nearby. With all the loved ones in the cemetery, there could be more trash bins throughout to toss old flowers. I had to walk near the sign for the city trash bin. Although it's basically in a neighborhood, there is a great view of the mountains that make it so serene. Also I have an uncle who lives in the neighborhood behind this cemetery and can walk here (but I don't walk lol). Overall, a beautiful resting place!

Our family chose this funeral home primarily because of the lower cost of cremation, as it had been recommended to us. Unfortunately, the service we experienced did not meet our expectations. When we arrived for our appointment, we were told that our family member had already been picked up from the hospital by another funeral home. This was concerning because less than an hour before our appointment, a call had been made to the hospital notifying them that Premier would be the one picking up our loved one. This created confusion and added unnecessary stress during an already emotional situation. Additionally, the interaction during the arrangement process felt very impersonal. At a time when families are grieving and making difficult decisions, compassion and clear communication are extremely important. We paid for the cremation and later that day received notification that there would be additional cost because of weight of the body. Which was disclosed over the phone when setting up appointment. There was a lack of attention to detail. We did not feel that level of care during our meeting. Another moment that stood out was when we were told that an urn that was part of cost, would be provided to us in a black plastic bag. This felt unexpected and did not match what we anticipated for such a sensitive matter. Our family was dealing with a great deal of emotion and simply wanted to complete the necessary arrangements. However, based on our experience, I would encourage others to carefully consider their options and ensure they choose a funeral home that provides both professionalism and compassion during this process.
