Had a great experience renting one of the 2bed/townhomes across the street from apartments. We were there for over 4 +years. Anytime we had service requests for basically anything that needed to be addressed they were prompt. Either fixed same day or soon after if parts needed! Property is well cared for; pool areas and lawn care maintained. They always pick up trash daily all over on both complexes. Never had issues with theft of property or mail (left our garage wide open a few times overnight). Our neighbors were the best, very friendly and could always count on them if we were out of town. Front office ladies keep renters posted on events for tenants. Very pleased with our time at Brookside Crossing . I would definitely recommend this place. I lived here for only 8 months until I bought my home and this place always had bugs and was very outdated (reminded me of that 70's show). The rent is very high and there are allot of homeless outside the gates that would wander inside the gates. It's was ok for the time being but not worth what they charged. Also you will not get your deposit back they will nickel and dime you for everything. You would think when someone moves out and especially with COViD that it is customary they clean the carpets I was told it's not and they charge you for it when you move out and take it out of your deposit. They said they only clean the carpets every two years when someone moves out. They charge allot because it's in Brookside but where it was located it was ghetto Brookside to me. Not worth what they charged and scary at times with all the homeless that were around. read more

I stayed for a year and a half and didn't have any problems with the apartment itself. A few times a week there are homeless people who wander into the complex and go through the dumpsters for stuff. Ive had a man on a bike stop me to ask if he could use a phone charger. Ive called the cops several times because I saw some woman try and climb over the fence into the complex and domestic disputes on neighbors who scream in the middle of the night and throw chairs and the sliding glass doors. Also, the automatic gates would break and be left open for days at a time until they were fixed. The complex was kept very well but there were a ton of spiders that would set up shop outside your front doors. Not like daddy long legs, like the creepy kind. If anything broke in the apartment, maintenance always came to fix it within 24 hours, but never replaced any of the light bulbs that would burn out. Seems simple to change a light bulb on your own but these light bulbs were specialty ones and every Lowes, Home Depot, Target, or Walmart I went into didn't carry these types of bulbs. And the light fixtures aren't easy to disassemble on your own. The apartments are up to date for the most part, the fridges are a little outdated. And there isn't proper venting in the bathrooms so after showering I would have to put a fan in front of the door to circulate the air and humidity out otherwise it could mold. The ladies in the office were wonderful and reliable. Shelby took great care of everything. Overall it was good for my first apartment, but has some security flaws. With how much we pay in rent, we should have great security but that isn't the case. read more

I lived here in 2012 for less than a year after the new owners (the Garibaldi company) went through and improved most things from new windows and doors to new(er) appliances and countertops. I lived in a single bedroom apartment, which was a great size for just me. The washer and dryer was great, and worth the extra cost of the apartment rent itself. Rent was $822 including garbage. Water was never more than $50, and my PG&E (no joke) was sometimes only $15. The doors only come with a deadbolt. The cupboards are still made of particleboard with an awful stick-on fake wood design. Everything has been painted over a million times. The carpets are light and easy to get dirty if you have high foot traffic. Be careful of the towel rack which I broke by pulling a towel off... Cheaply installed, but hey what do you expect. Lots of storage space. The outside is well kept. Lots of shade. A family environment as I see kids everywhere. Easy access to all the places you want to go in stockton. Management was so friendly and very accommodating. I had a bee infestation and after I made it urgently clear that there were actually a boatload of bees in my apartment, they responded in less than 10 minutes and took care of the problem. I moved because my apartment was burglarized. WAIT, don't let this deter you from considering this place. I was seemingly cased, this doesn't happen a lot here. Must say that I miss my apartment and wish I could live here again, but I have a large (guard) dog that they could not and would not accommodate. read more

I have lived in these apartments for almost 6 years. The apartments themselves are nice , of course there's a lot of things that could be updated but that would just lead to higher prices than they already have. The one bad thing is their maitanance. My washer has broken down 3 times and my wife told the Maitanance guy that it was the outlet not the washer and he told her there's nothing he can do about that. So how are we supposed to wash out clothes with a washer that doesn't work all the time? If the old owners still owned this place I would recommend it but ever since garibaldi company bought this apartment complex it's been going down hill little by little . It seems like they can't even keep renters more than 6 months. My sister in law lives here too and at the end of her six month lease they raised her rent $75 and she signed another six min the lease and at the end of that one they raised her rent $50. This place is great! I have a 2 BR upstairs apt. and enjoy it. The rooms are decent size, the washer/dryer are included in a nicely put away spot. (Convenient) And the repair man man man man is super fast. (usually within 1 day) On the downside, the carpet is light. I have to shampoo it. Today actually. The stove is pretty old. Electric burners are so crooked, that i can't sautee my sauce!!! WAHH! it all bunches in the corner of the pan! Another thing is, cars drive through here so fast, you would think your at a nascar race. Speedbumps would be nice. I find it hard to believe that there have never been speed bumps here. Especially because of how many children are here. I live with people beneath me, and next to me. and i rarely hear them...(heheh) it may be because i just lucked out and got quiet neighbors. who knows? The Brookside area is close to everything i need. (and dont: Krispy Kreme, In and out, Dave Wongs.) The mall isn't too far, but who wants to go THERE?!?! I like it here but unfortunately, must move to be closer to the bay area, where my wife will be working) OH! one more thing, they used to let you pay online with a credit card, but they recently were bought out or something by another company and no longer offer that. bummer. It would've been 5 stars if for speed bumps and the fact that they had a brief time where various apts were broken into. Cameras would be nice too. But we all know that would mean EVERYONE'S rent would go up 50 bucks a month. Overall, it's good for the price, and i would reccomend it to someone. for sure. read more

I've lived here for approximately 2 years, and I have been very happy with Brookside Crossing. I originally chose this place because of the central location and the fact that it's in a relatively safe neighborhood. Not to be naive because I know crime is everywhere around here, but I feel much safer living here than in other places I have lived around town. The people who live here are very nice and quiet; no loud parties via college students or riff raff. Most people who live here are young professionals, families, or older folks. The rent here is on the higher end, both for it's location and also because their apartments offer washers and dryers already installed inside each unit. This is another major reason why I chose this place because I no longer want to mess with an apartment laundry mat, or worse, a Stockton community laundry. The apartments are very nice inside. I moved in with new carpet and decent appliances. I live in a one bedroom with a large, long closet and plenty of space in the bathroom and kitchen for my things. The one bedrooms are a little on the small side still (600 sq ft), but it's not a big issue for me, and not everything in here is top-notch, but you cannot expect that from a place you're renting. Aside from my garbage disposal going out twice, I haven't had any issues with things breaking or breaking down. Another positive about this complex is the ladies who manage the office. They have always been very kind, cheerful, and helpful. If I had an appliance issue, they got it fixed that day. They don't have the attitude I have experienced with other complex management, so they are another reason why I stayed this long here. The grounds are also super nice, with a lot of landscaping work. Everything here is very clean, and residents keep their outside areas neat. To me, this is one of the better options for Stockton apartment living. I have enjoyed living here way more than Marina, Laguna, or March West down the street. read more

I have lived at Brookside Crossing since March of 2013. I love living here! It is so quiet that I sometimes wonder if anyone else lives here. My apartment has tan walls, dual pane windows, central heating and air, updated appliances, and a full size washer and dryer. I live in an upstairs and I have a large patio with storage. My parking spot is just steps away from my assigned parking spot. I like it that I don't have to search for parking. When my friends come over, they have unlimited parking it seems. I love the quietness of this property. Management is constantly upgrading the apartments, and the whole property. I pay 1012 for my two bedroom. This includes my trash! It is very worth it! If I ever have a service request, they are here the same day and the problem is resolved! The cabinets could use some updating, but they are fully functional. All-in-all, the apartment, maintenance, and the staff in the office make living here so great. I don't see myself moving for a long time! :) read more

A recent serious problem with the apartment complex..... 12 to 14 cars vandalized earlier this week. Appears to be windows on passenger side -front, smashed out and glove compartments,consoles,etc gone through. Happened during the wee hours in the morning. Police notified but took a very long time to respond. Even management was not available until the office opened. Emergency staff, not persistent in getting police out to check out the damage..... there were so many cars. I found my car, as well as four neighboring cars all busted at 6:30 a.m., security said vandalism occurred about 3 am... It was about 8:00 or later before police arrived to file a report. Like most people that morning, we needed to get to work..... but delays were endless. . Management notified the property w a flier..... make sure to keep valuables out of cars and not visible. But, this was more of an act of vandalism. Some items maybe missing, but the intent was to damage property. Had a conversation with another tenant. Problem back in July with mailboxes broken into upon her move in date. Management said , Sorry you can't use the mailboxes right now...... they're busted. Recently vandalized... In all fairness to the tenants, please try to protect us better. We don't want to worry about break-ins nor vandalism. If someone wants to break their lease, give them that option. This recent incident has been one of many problems Brookside Apartments has been inflicted with but seems to think the tenants need to be proactive in taking care of them. In actuality, the property management team may need to step up their game a bit.... for the community. read more

Placed a $100 hold on an apartment here, but were still exploring options, they told us if we changed our mind we needed to come in by today and let them know in order to get the 100 back. I get a call last night saying she ran our applications and we were approved with an increase of a deposit. (We never paid the application fees so we didn't expect them to be ran) we just wanted to save the apartment for the 72 hours until we were ready to make our decision. We decided today to go get our 100 back and let the apartment go. She tells us that we will not be getting our 100 back because she ran our applications without our knowledge or payment. She tells us we actually owe them 20 dollars. If you ask me, these people took advantage of my family, and stole from us. Unprofessional and wrong. Do NOT recommend. Not to mention, they wouldn't even let us look at the unit. When we were told originally it would be ready for move in yesterday. read more

The property owners don't give a damn about your personal safety or property. If they tell you it's a gated community don't believe it. The gates are often open and homeless people are around everyday. If you live adjacent to the freeway you will see holes riddled throughout the fencing perimeter. My apartment was burglarized and my car was broken into 3 times. Other residents also had their cars repeatedly broken into and valuables stolen from their premises/residence. I'm not sure if it was the homeless drug addicts or my neighbors who made my time in Stockton hell, but be smart and DO NOT LIVE HERE. Trust nobody. Some scumbag is always casing the place and looking to steal from you. Be smart and go rent a house for a comparable or lower price. Your rent will be raised every year at this complex somewhere between $20-$30. Let me reiterate, DO NOT LIVE HERE it's just not worth the trouble. This places deserves zero stars. read more

I used to live here up until a few months ago. Joel A. is right, the carpets are very light. I lived in one of the cottages and it wasn't too good. This is the first place I ever lived in where it never really felt like home. My apartment had a severe mold problem, and even though they painted over the insides of the vanity cabinet and drawer, you could still smell it coming out of the fiberboard. The one off the master bedroom was worst, and unfortunately for me, I am highly allergic to mold, so I was sick all the time there. May have had a lot to do with it not feeling like "home" to me. Other than that, it was usually pretty quiet. Please be aware, if you want to live in one of the cottages on the south end, Home Depot's loading dock is right there, so you'll hear a lot of metal stuff being tossed around in the middle of the night. Plus, some of the employees' friends come and turn on load music while they visit, also in the middle of the night. It's convenient to walk everywhere, and usually driving isn't bad, but you have In and Out Burger on that end of March Lane, plus the freeway off-ramp, so rush hour is a bitch if you're trying to drive. Here's what bugged me the most: they put in new windows and doors for energy efficiency, but as soon as my lease was up, they jacked my rent up a hundred dollars a month! No help there. They even sent around a survey a month or so before my lease was up, asking what would they have to do to keep me as a tenant, and I specifically said, "Don't jack my rent." When they did, I took that to mean they weren't very interested in keeping us after all, even though we always paid our rent on time and didn't cause any trouble there. And now that I've moved out, they decided a couple of nail holes means 2 gallons of paint and labor charges for painting. Even though we'd patched the holes and touched up the paint with paint THEY provided! They are pretty much just greedy jerks. read more
