Just about the most satisfying Italian Sandwich dive that you could find in the state of Texas and…read moreit's right off Lake Conroe of all places. Walk up counter service with a menu split neatly into cold cut and oven baked sandwiches. Going with the Devito, my mind was thoroughly blown by how flavorful the red sauce and meats were all together, it had a combination of textures from the crusty bread cured cuts that made it fun to chew through every bite. My Stallone was also just such a pleasant mix of flavor with the pesto playing a bigger role on the cold cut options. This is one of the places where I feel like you can spin the wheel and get a winner with whatever fate decides. Things seem pretty easy and affordable here. Portions were pretty big here and around $12-$15 a sandwich, more than enough for a single person with some for a midnight snack later. There's a good bit of seating inside with some red gingham table clothes to eat over. It's worth the visit if your in Montgomery or after a day on the Lake!

Tony's Italian Delicatessen definitely delivers on portion size! The sandwiches are huge, and…read moreyou'll likely be taking leftovers home. I ordered the Martin, and the flavor was excellent. My only disappointment was that the menu described it as coming on a crusty Italian roll, but the bread was soft with no crunch. A true crusty roll would have taken it from great to outstanding. The girl at the counter recommended getting the hot peppers so I got some on the side, and she was absolutely right--I'll definitely be adding those to future sandwiches. My husband ordered the Danza but accidentally received the Dinero. He still enjoyed it and gave it a solid 7/10. We also tried the Chicken Parmesan. It had good flavor, though it was a little too bread-heavy for my taste. Overall, the food was fresh, flavorful, and the portions were more than generous. We'll definitely be back to work our way through more of the menu.

There are…read moremany other options and I always think of trying them but that Travolta sings to me and it's the one that goes home with me. They have some delicious desserts and I vaguely remember them from the few times I tried them, but I try to eat both halves of the sandwich and that's it, can't eat another bite. The service is always great, the people are well trained and are pleasant to deal with. Ambiance, what ambiance? It's a great place to go get your sandwich and we take it home to eat and watch TV. The one time we ate there, it took away from the glorious experience of eating that mouth watering goodness. There were other distracting people around us and keeping me from concentrating on my sandwich!

I went back after finishing a 5K. It was a Saturday night, about half an hour before closing, and…read moreit wasn't too busy. I wanted to dine in but decided to get my food to go out of respect of their 8 pm closing hour. I didn't look at what I ordered last time, so I asked for a recommendation. He suggested The Stallone and The Lucky. I ordered, then checked my previous order on Yelp while I waited. Same thing. OMG. I wanted to try something new too. Oh well. Then, while waiting, I had a thought: Wouldn't it be weird if they gave me the wrong order again, just like last time? Well... guess what. Almost. But flipped. They gave my order to another guy. ‍ When he told them, I watched them frantically take my food out of his bag and put it into mine. It was almost closing time, and the guy didn't look like he had any communicable diseases, so I guess there's that plus. But seriously, what are the odds? There were like five guys working back there packing orders it looked like. How does this keep happening? And one of the kids bagging the takeout orders had dark sunglasses on. At 8 PM. Dude, unless it's some medical condition, take the sunglasses off or get the order right. When I got home, the meatball sandwich was, of course, cold--which I expected since I live about 20 minutes away. I'd strongly recommend eating it there while it's hot because it's not nearly as good cold. Kinda mid The Stallone I ordered not warmed up. So it was okay. So, yeah, unfortunately, my second visit came with another wrong-order adventure. At this point, I'm starting to wonder if getting someone else's food is just part of the experience here.
