I have been a patient of Janice Bryan, a Nurse Practitioner at Renown Medical Group, for 5 years. I…read morehave always been a fan of Nurse Practitioners as they seem to have more time to spend with their patients and more focus on teaching. Janice has these traits. Being a Renown Medical Group patient for 5 years, I have had the opportunity to visit each year for my physical and various other ailments. Janice always answers my questions, will listen to what I think is right for my own care and give me constructive criticism if she disagrees with me when I'm practicing "internet medicine". I like the fact that I can view my medical record online and if I have a question or need to renew a routine medication, I can use the email feature on their program "mychart". I feel that Janice practices quality, thorough medicine but also keeps the big picture in mind with keeping healthcare costs down. By viewing my medical record, I know that routine preventative medicine is followed and I know when to expect my next upcoming test. Janice has made appropriate referrals are made to other doctors when needed and I feel that the Janice and the other specialists work as a team when addressing my healthcare needs. I am happy with my overall health maintenance. The receptionist and nurses/assistants are very nice and I like that they ask if you've been out of the country in the past 90 days. This shows me that questions are thorough and detail and nothing is missed. I was recently seen for bronchitis and had to use the urgent care. The PA there performed a chest xr ay and had placed me on some antibiotics and other medications. After finishing the first course of medications, I still had not gotten better and went to see Renown Medical Group where I was placed on another course of medications. I felt that everyone was informed of my care. They also knew my allergies. I was assured that everything was ruled out and the continuity of care was smooth.

Neva was my doctor for 15 years before we moved out of town. This is my experience…read more PROS She spends as much time with me as needed, sometimes half an hour. She remembers some of the details of my "case," from one visit to the next. She initially saw me every three months, but offered that I only needed a diabetes follow-up every four months. So much for money-grubbing. When she discovered that I have diabetes, she called me three times in one day - I was out of town - and insisted that I come in, with my husband, as soon as I returned. In fact, on her last VM when I wasn't home, she left the information about an appointment she'd set up for me, without my even being home. She has volunteered her time with Mother Theresa in Calcutta. I do not share any part of her strong Catholic faith, but I've always had caring, personal attention from her. CONS She seems to be eager to prescribe pills and drugs, no matter what my issue is. She often gave me samples to save me money, but sometimes, it seemed that she was changing meds on me gratuitously. I read that her attitude toward some women was occasionally harsh - she refused to prescribe artificial birth control, or pain pills for C-section patients, rooted in her religious beliefs, but I never experienced that. I know women who won't go to her, in solidarity with other women. One memorable time, I waited in my exam room for an hour before sticking my head out into the corridor and finding it empty and dark. Everyone had left and forgotten about me. I went home and called in a message to tell them that the office was unlocked. I got calls at home that night from Neva and her husband, deeply apologetic. They're too busy for their own good. All in all, I like her. I think she's a good, if traditional, doctor. Were we still living in that community, she'd still be my doctor.

I believe I…read morecaught pneumonia from my student but when I was examined by Karri Burgner she treated me like garbage. She repeatedly interrupted me, answered the questions herself and then marked down her response as my response. Is that medical science? When I asked the office manager Rhonda that very question she looked bewildered and became belligerent instead of answering a legitimate question from a sick patient. Regarding Rhonda the office manager it states on the website: "She is always available to discuss any patient concerns." That is a lie! If you are looking for medical professionals look elsewhere! Not a good experience! I had seen Karri once before, and set an appt for annual "wellness checkup"…read more Since the initial visit consisted of a 5-10 minute discussion about how I felt (no real exam or tests done) I thought it might make sence to get a blood panel done before the appt so we could discuss the results (cholesterol and PSA etc). I called and was told NO......Kerri would order this After the appt?? I asked them to reconsider since I am leaving the country for 2 moths days after the appt so it would be useless at that point.....again, sorry but NO?? Well I called my HMO (Alingment Health) and a very nice person there said there is no reason I should not be able to get blood panel done before my appt, so he called them (Peavine family practice) and he was also told NO!! He came back on the line and suggested i switch my primary care physician, stating "they refused the request and were very unprofessional in how they spoke to him!! I guess if you just want to just "follow instructions", this practice might be fine for you, but I thought going to the doctor was supposed to be about the patient.....and if you feel the same way.....don't go here!!
