I went to a dentist who told me I needed 7 fillings. Then I came to Dr. Brooks and she said we had a lot of options before she added the fillings- that was almost 5 years ago! Now that she's earned my trust I felt fine when she mentioned it may be time to go ahead with the more costly preventative measures. The studio is calming. The all female staff really listens to me. They want to know whether I'm stressed or exercising, how my family is doing - because they know all of this affects my body and therefore my dental health. For me, Dr. Jamie Brooks has been a godsend. I have been a patient at Brooks Dental Studio for about 10 years. During that time, Dr. Jamie and her staff have helped me transition from being in deep denial and inaction about my declining oral health to staying generally on top of things. From the get go, Jamie helped me put together a multi-step plan for restoring my teeth/gums that included steadfast maintenance in the form of regular cleanings and home care, alongside several larger surgeries. I am still working through my plan but have been making strides every year towards having a healthy and long lasting smile, mostly due to Jamie's continued support. What a marvelous experience I always have when I go to visit my dentist, Dr. Jamie Brooks. I feel like I am a treasured guest when I am there. Rather than dreading visiting my dentist, I look forward to her welcoming smile and sincere effort to make me comfortable. Just visited Brooks Dental Studio for the first time today and it's been about 4 years since I have been to the dentist. They were wonderful! They took time to get to know me, any concerns I had, my history. Their office is beautiful and they were so thoughtful! The whole process was painless and they even put coco butter on your lip during the process (with a qtip) so your lips don't dry out. They have me recommendations of products, never made me feel silly for questions and were great about scheduling. They even reminded me to pay for parking! I am not dreading my next visit which is saying a lot. if you have been avoiding the dentist, this is the one for you! They were all wonderful. read more

I'm so happy to provide a 5-star review for Dr. Jamie Brooks. I was looking for a new dentist after neglecting my teeth for a number of years. I choose a dentist not because of close proximity or cost but because I'm looking for quality care and dental excellence. Dr. Jamie Brooks met all of my criteria and more. I scheduled an initial intake appointment after letting them know that it had been 5+ years since I'd had a cleaning (COVID etc.-the longest I'ved ever gone without such care) and gave them some information about myself and my concerns. A few days later, I received a call from Dr. Jamie herself offering me an appointment time (they'd had a cancellation) so they could see me more quickly. I was so grateful and impressed that she would take time to reach out herself. And, I was not disappointed. They got me in within a few days, and I had a long, very thorough hygiene appointment where they started taking records and getting to know my dental/health history. Then, the next day I went back for my intake appointment where additional records were taken. Dr. Jamie and her team took extensive notes about my dental and physical health, asked questions, and took images and measurements. Dr. Jamie's approach is holistic, and they offered information, made recommendations about dental hygiene and general health care that could make a difference in my ongoing health. They were empathetic, gentle (because I'm very anxious during dental treatments), and thorough. They heard me and my concerns and really paid attention. I also love Dr. Jamie's dental "studio" with its artistic, non-clinical aesthetics, style, and artwork. I'm relocating to Eastern Washington soon and will be coming back quarterly to stay in treatment with Dr. Jamie and her team. After retiring from the military I had to find a dentist. I had tried a couple before finding Dr Jamie. The first thing I noticed was her enthusiasm, she is very warm and cordial. Dr Jamie and the staff are good at getting to know you, it makes me feel like family walking into her studio. Her approach to dentistry is unique I believe, she works with you, never doing more than you are comfortable with. She explains what she is doing, what you are going to feel and really takes the stress out of everything. Entering the office they offer you tea and greet you. The staff is so nice, they take time to know how you are doing. To me that says a lot, again that feeling of family. They work to keep you relaxed. When you are finished with any work you have done, she will call you later on and see how you are feeling. The little details that aren't lost on me. I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Brooks and her amazing team. I have been going to them for three years now, and would recommend them without hesitation to anyone in search of excellent dental care. Dr. Brooks and her entire staff are personable, upfront, and excellent. Dr. Brooks does the most thorough exam that I have ever experienced from a dentist. She not only cares about the health of your teeth, but the entire individual as well. The company is also wonderful with scheduling, estimates and working with insurance. There are never any surprises financially, and they always provide you with their most accurate estimates for best and worst case scenarios. Dr. Brooks is also the most attentive and caring dentist I have gone to. I've had quite a few problems with my teeth over the years, and whenever I have had extensive work done she always calls me to check on me, and always reinforces her happiness to have me call her at any time with questions or concerns. I moved up to Kirkland over a year and a half ago, and despite Dr. Brook's willingness to provide me with her recommendations for a dentist near me, I have continued to make the trek down to see her. I've been avoiding the dentist for the past 6 years. It's not that I have a ton of fear (though I admit to being a bit of a sissy) but that I didn't have dental insurance. I knew Dr. Jamie by reputation because she is VERY involved in the Downtown Tacoma Community, hosting art shows and stuff in her awesome loft like dental studio- but I guess I always thought she would be too expensive, and even if I did get dental again I would have to go somewhere lame. I was wrong! First. I broke a tooth. Ouch. When I asked Dr. Jamie if her office had a system for working with Cash clients she was very enthusiastic and said they had different programs including one where you pay a flat amount per year for your maintenance. In the end, my teeth are going to need a bunch of work to make up for not taking care of them for years, but Jamie and her staff have been incredible. We are taking it one step a time and I am paying as we go- it's been nothing short of awesome. The highlights have been: - No shaming - I haven't been a diliigent flosser and Dr. Jamie and her hygenist really just met me where I was and we started making small changes to my routine. - They care - Seems silly, but this makes a difference. They wanted to know WHY I hadn't been going to the dentist and what I wanted to accomplish. They also treat me like a real person and have really gotten to know me. That makes the whole experience more fun. - Iphone Chargers - NEXT TO THE DENTAL CHAIR. I KNOW. It's the little things. If you're looking for a dentist in the South Sound area, Brooks Dental Studio is THE place to go. Jamie and her team are the absolute best! The quality of care and attention to patients here is unmatched. Jamie pays personal attention to the health and well-being of every single patient, and you can tell she treats her team well also. You don't feel like you're one of the many other people they need to get in and out of the chair that day -- they actually take time to focus on YOU and your personalized care. And Jamie isn't just in and out at the end of your hygiene appointment like other places; she typically comes out and greets you before your appointment and is checking in periodically throughout your appointment unless she is in a procedure. She and all the hygienists are very thorough and always remember your particular sensitivities, etc. Once when I had a filling done, I had some pain at the beginning of the procedure so I needed some additional numbing. The rest of the procedure went fine and Jamie was very careful, always checking in to make sure I wasn't experiencing any more pain. Later that day, Jamie personally called me to check in and see how I was feeling. That is not something you'll get from any other dentist!! My family of 4 has been going to Brooks Dental studio for several years. Every appointment has been a pleasant experience. Dr. Brooks and her staff are so welcoming, and do whatever they can to make your experience great. I've been seeing Dr. Jamie at Brooks Dental for many years now and the experience is beyond compare to other dental offices. The first indication that you are in for a treat is the design of the space. It is beautiful, simple and modern while being warm and inviting as well. Then you'll notice art on all the walls. Real actual art created by local artists. Dr. Jamie is passionate about art and her local community of Tacoma. So every few months there is a new art collection on display. Locally made tea to drink, and all kinds of little surprises made by Tacomans. As a patient, you get the distinct feeling the team works very well together and you are getting the most attention possible. They really strive to know you as a whole person and not just another open mouth. Dr. Jamie is a wonderful combination of fastidious and friendly. I also can not say enough good things about Jamie Brooks and the team of really terrific people who help make going to Brooks Dental Studio the best trip to the dentist one could ever hope for. From the moment you walk in the door, you know that someone really cares. The look of the space itself is clean, modern and beautiful. But of course what I really care about is my teeth, and Jamie so clearly cares every bit as much as I do. She has worked with me over the last two or three years to make sure that my mouth is as healthy as it can be and set me up for the long term. I hate having dental work done because I am always nervous that I'll have a bad surprise or that it'll be soo expensive, but Jamie and her office have worked with me to make sure there are no surprises and clearly do very careful, meticulous work, explain what they see going on, and always answer all my questions. There is also this "above and beyond" quality here. Jamie has helped support my long term health in ways that go way beyond my teeth. Dr. Jamie has been hands down, the BEST dentist I have ever had and I have A LOT of issues with my gums and teeth. However, I have already written a 5 star review about my care, so this one is for my kiddos. My daughters (ages 4 and 6) have been going to Dr. Jamie for at least a year now, for check ups and cleanings. Today my 6 year old had to get a cavity filled. I was a bit nervous for her because I know how scary it can seem as a kid (I still have haunting memories from my childhood dentist.) Dr. Jamie, with her sweet, nurturing personality prepped my daughter beforehand with the appropriate expectations. She took the time to show her the tools that she would use and walked her through how she would use them. Since my daughter can over-react to pain and discomfort, I expected to hear a few shouts or a bit of whining at least. Nothing. All I heard was supportive words and gentle directions from Dr. Jamie and her staff. My daughter even told people afterwards that her experience was "fun!"
