Then , instead of sitting in a room and chair waiting for an assistant, the staff person starts immediately working on you. I never feel rushed. SHOCKINGLY TO ME: a crown is removed, a brand new one created, and installed IN ONE APPOINTMENT! Today's technology used at Petrie uses a camera to 3d your crown and tooth area and the result: perfect. Prior history, I had to have the crown adjusted when high points become noticed. Here, my crown is the best fit ever in my life and at one appointment. Prior replacements required two appointments and more work to create a crown. Reminders are nicely made to avoid forgetting an appointment too. Simply a happy customer for a good reason: nothing could be done better. read more

Last week, I went to Petrie Advanced Dental to get my dental health back on track. Because of changing insurance and moving, I neglected my dental health for several years. I saw Dr. Olga and her dental assistant Gosia. They took X-rays, including a panoramic X-ray, and examined my teeth. They even used a device which created an digital model of my teeth! This is definitely a top of the line dental office! We discussed a path forward to clean my teeth, replace my missing molar, and even straighten my teeth. They were so nice and explained everything in terms I could understand. Everyone there, including the front desk folks, were so wonderful to me. To me it is a combination of the kind greeting I receive from Dr. Petrie's staff and the sound of the little waterfall in his waiting room. I grew up with a dad as a dentist and received a lot of dental work so I have been around many flavors of dental staff. I have felt the most comfortable and welcomed by Dr. Petrie's office!! Everyone including Dr. Petrie genuinely wanted to get to know me. The receptionist remembered talking to me on the phone and greeted me when I came into the office and everyone remembered small details about me. Dr Petrie is amazing however, his office staff is rude and unhelpful. I had to cancel an appointment and did so with advanced notice. Yet, I was charged a cancellation fee with a hand written note that stated "final notice". I can no longer recommend this dentist office and will no longer be back. TLDR; Unprofessionally shamed and berated by the office manager after asking reasonable questions about dental treatment plan / costs. Doctor went MIA, never following-up on poor experience, and ignored multiple follow-up emails to have patient files sent to an alternative dentist.  We were eventually able to obtain most files, however the office repeatedly sent partial dental files making it difficult for us to move to another office.  I strongly recommend people avoid this dental office. THE GOOD The wife and I are newish patients and I wanted to share feedback on our experience.  I selected this dental office based on it's positive online reviews (google/yelp) and our initial visits were positive.  The office took appropriate COVID-19 precautions, the hygienists were friendly and Dr. Petrie performed fast and thorough work with a sense of humor.  The only minor complaint we had was that the doctor spoke a little too fast for my wife, who speaks English as a 2nd language, but no big deal since they allowed me to attend each of her visits to help make sure she understood the work being performed. THE BAD Fast forward a few visits later... The wife had some fairly major, but not unexpected, dental work that needed to be done so after x-rays were taken and the doctor had a chance to review everything we visited the office to go over potential treatment options.  The doctor explained the treatment plans and one of the office staff went over financial information (costs, insurance, etc.) which in total was about ~$10k.  The doctor and his staff were friendly and both encouraged us to review the information and come back with any questions. THE UGLY This is where things took a sharp negative turn... As a prudent consumer that is faced with a significant purchase that involves our health, I took the treatment plan home, reviewed it in detail with the wife, researched the costs of each of the dental codes against the averages for the area using public information (fair health website) and came up with a list of questions.  A couple of the questions were focused on her treatment plan as there seemed to be a lack of coordination between Dr. Petrie and the oral surgeon (not unexpected given it was still early in the process) and one question was around costs for two of the dental codes, which were much higher than the norm for our area (one of the codes just happened to be the most expensive single line item that showed-up multiple times on the treatment plan). I received a phone call the next morning from the office manager who immediately began berating and attempting to shame me by accusing me of 'shopping for the cheapest prices' and 'disrespecting the doctor and their office' by even asking any questions about prices,  making unhelpful comments like I can pay 'full price' instead of the lower insurance negotiated prices if I wanted, and that they were doing me a favor my charging me the negotiated insurance prices for charges after my dental insurance maxes out.  The phone call was extremely unprofessional and not once did the lady provide me any concrete reason why the costs were higher than the norm for the area or address my non-cost treatment questions. I followed-up with a polite email explaining my disappointment in the tone and approach taken on the phone call and immediately decided to find a backup dentist given this experience (hopeful we could still reconcile my concerns, but knowing we are getting closer to year-end and the ability to utilize our insurance). I fired off a second email shortly after finding a backup dentist asking Dr. Petrie's office to send over my records to the new dentist along with a few other requests.  Several days passed and there was no follow-up. I eventually called the office and the staff that answered the phone was nice, but claimed they never received my emails (ugh - I triple checked that the email address was correct).  She sent our patient files over to the new dentist and myself (using the email address I had sent all my emails to), however the files were incomplete and I had to follow-up two more times to get the near complete set (we are still waiting on a few files).  I also reiterated my concerns to the office staff and asked her to relay them to the doctor, however he has yet to follow-up with us directly.  The doctor has had multiple opportunities and sufficient time to reach back out to us to resolve the negative experience, however he has decided to ignore us so we've decided to take the time to write this review to warn others of our experience.  THE CONCLUSION I would NOT recommend Dr. Petrie's office given their lack of professionalism. It's inexcusable to not be willing to answer customer questions, to attempt to shame a customer for asking questions, and to not make any attempt to respond to customer emails or reach out to them to attempt to resolve concerns. read more

My daughter and I went in to this office for a consultation for aligners and although we will not be able to be serviced here, the experience was worth sharing. From the time we arrived to the time we left everyone we encountered was extremely courteous and respectful. The staff's customer service was remarkable. Jazmyn and Dr. Petrie were a great team and I was saddened that he would not be able to take on my daughters case. Very relatable and respectful, not demeaning or insulting. Gave honest feedback and went the extra mile to suggest other orthodontist that may be able to give us the desired result. So I have seen Dr. Petrie three times now and I couldn't be more pleased with his work. He is funny, direct and easy to speak to. My three star rating is directly derived from my experience with the office manager Michelle. As the result of one of my coworkers calling in sick, I was unable to make my three hour procedure, I canceled the morning of my appointment and incurred a significant penalty fee. It took me some time to be able to raise the cash, and when I did, I called to pay it off. The receptionist said that it had been stricken from the books and I no longer owed it. Now that I had a bit of extra cash I went ahead and made an appointment for another procedure. The day of the my new appointment I was confirmed and they even called to reschedule me. Everything was fine Michelle checked me in and NO reference to my cancellation fee was mentioned at ANYTIME. I met with Dr. Petrie and as always it was a delightful experience. I went ahead an paid for the procedure and was heading out the door when Michelle brought me back and Insisted that I pay for the cancelation charge, stating with a raised voice that "The receptionist shouldn't have made my appointment as they have a zero tolerance policy on late cancellations". In spite of me telling her that I had tried to pay it and that I wouldn't have schedule the appointment today if I had known that she was going to change their mind. She got more animated and firm with me and I just paid it as I didn't want my child to witness a scene. So it has been a week. I still am happy with my overall experience with Petrie Dental, just not with Michelle and her "bait and switch" tactic. I don't think that I will be going back as she is always there and I am not comfortable with inconsistencies within the business and being bullied. read more

I've had some really awful experiences in the past with dentists. I've been going to see Dr. Petrie for three years now and am thoroughly impressed. This guy really knows what he is doing. He has taught me things I never knew that no other dentist had ever told me and has changed my entire outlook on dental care. Not only that but he is friendly and likable and knows how to put me at ease. The staff here goes to great lengths to ensure that you are comfortable and I have never felt so well cared for in my life. My teeth used to hurt every time I ate something cold or would bite into something sugary. Now I can eat anything I want with no pain or discomfort at all. I have completely changed the way I care for my teeth at home. This is without question the best dentist I have ever had. The moment I arrived in the waiting room, I noticed the beautiful decor and cozy atmosphere of the front desk/ waiting area. I didn't have much time to examine it further because I was called in right away without delay. There was virtually no waiting time. The paperwork was minimal and easy to fill out. Once inside, I was treated with the utmost respect and friendliness by the assistant, who has a personable style and a kind smile. Throughout the process of getting my teeth examined and X-Rayed, the staff went out of their way to make sure I was as comfortable as possible. The examination itself was very thorough, and it was clear that Petrie Advanced Dental was using state of the art equipment for assessment and treatment purposes. The examination room has a big screen TV hanging from the ceiling for me to watch, and tasteful music played in the background. Dr. Petrie himself was very friendly. He took the time to explain what he saw and what the appropriate course of treatment should be, pointing out both the healthy side of my teeth/gums and what needed work, which I really appreciated. What stood out to me more than anything was that the staff continually checked-in with me to make sure I felt comfortable and satisfied. Overall, Petrie Advanced Dental had a welcoming atmosphere that helped me feel at home, and a clearly knowledgable and sophisticated practice that filled me with confidence that I was getting the best treatment available. I'v had three appointments here so far. Bottom line- I'd recommend this dentist to anybody. Every piece of the experience was overall exceptional in ALL categories, honestly. I never really thought there could be such a thing as an "exceptional dental experience" but after visiting Dr. Petrie's office I was humbly proved wrong. Both he and his assistant Gosia were impressively professional and EXCELANT in their work. I actually said to a friend after the appointment that I think my bite with my new filling from Dr. Petrie is BETTER than my old bite with my REAL tooth! Dr. Petrie was able to fix old work a dentist had done and caught a troublesome spot and preventitivelty filled it. No other dentist had caught that. They successfully filled four (Yes, sadly four.) cavities! Then I was then recommended to start using some special toothpaste for sensitive teeth to help me after the procedure. I was then promptly supplied THREE toothpastes of the kind they recommended! I appreciated so much that they didn't just recommend me to do something, but they actually "put their money where their mouth is" so to speak and gave it to me! Wow! What generosity. Just getting seated and settled in was made personable with Gosia's sweet and genuine sense of humor. She related with me and made me feel like I was her long time friend! My attention was quickly pointed to the HD TV that floats above! Imagine, like an angel in dentistry sky, you too can be entertained by Netflix -choose anything !- while your cavities get fixed!!! "What!?" I thought, "How can I be enjoying this!? I'm at the dentist! This is supposed to be misrible, right?" The comrodary and professionalism between Dr. Petrie and his Assistant Gosia was actually second to none that I've witnessed before. I swear they read each other's minds when they're working together. It was cool. Between Dr. Petrie quoting Robin Hood lines (my pick for the TV entertainment), and Gosia's friendly joking, the atmosphere stayed relaxed and tension free- even upbeat throughout the procedure. I was introduced to them through my insurance, but I'm actually not covered for them any more now. Still, I will keep using them as long as I'm in the area. Use them! Just moved here from CA last year and I was searching Yelp for a new dentist. Thank goodness I found Dr. Petrie. Him and his staff are awesome! Theres always plenty of parking, you can communicate through text (a huge plus) and everyone is so sweet and nice. I've been to his office a few times and not once I have been pressure to have any procedure done. He always tells me the pro and con of my teeth. Having a horrible past experience with a dentist I didn't return to one for far too long, from the minute I called and explained how bad my situation was, the woman on the phone assured me everything was going to be alright and to come in. Upon arrival I was terrified, every person I met that worked there was gentle and kind which really helped calm me down. I've now been back twice (having some major cleaning done and even having a tooth removed) and even knowing there's more work to be done, I am strangely looking forward to it. When I heard the previous dentist retired and there was a new dentist coming in to replace him, I was a little apprehensive. Dr. Petrie is a breath of fresh air. The girls from the previous dentist stayed on to work for Dr. Petrie. This dentist is very kind, very good, very professional and knows what he's doing. I look forward to going into this dentist. He is extremely knowledgeable and has suggestions to help with any dental problem a person might have. He is not a pushy dentist trying to make a patient have things done when it's not really necessary. He will give suggestions, but lets a patient decide for themselves whether they want to go ahead. Dr. Petrie and his staff have done an incredible job so far with my Invisalign. I have appointments with them almost every month and have enjoyed the experience each time. The staff is so kind and really gets to know you. They don't just sit you down in the waiting room until they are ready to see you. They ask how you're doing, how's school, work, and so on. Not only that but Dr. Petrie has a great sense of humor, along with many of his staff members. He makes you feel very comfortable the second you sit down in the chair. The biggest problem I faced with previous dentists was that they were too rough. Dr. Petrie on the other hand is very gentle, and asks every few minutes if there is anything bothering you, which makes you feel a lot more comfortable. Along with that, everyone knows it's annoying when the dentist has his hands in your mouth and is trying to have a conversation with you. Dr. Petrie and his staff will have a conversation with you but ask you questions that you can answer with a yes or no. It makes the experience much less awkward. Overall, my experience at Petrie Advanced Dental has been great each time, and I actually look forward to each of my visits. I constantly recommend them to many family members and friends. Today had my 3rd visit to this office for my teeth cleaning and a filling. Was previously recommended by a friend to try this place out, and have since left my previous dentist. Holly has been a hygienist there for over a decade and is really proactive in helping me with proper maintenance of my teeth, and keeping me informed of the latest and greatest with new products, habits, and clinical studies. She has reiterated some of the same things to me, but each time I leave there with helpful new knowledge and of course, clean teeth! I work odd hours, but Kim & Michelle upfront have always been warm, and helpful in coordinating some early appointments with the Dr that fit my schedule. They've done a good job on informing me of my bills, so that I can easily understand them and the procedures. Unlike my previous dentist, the team here works well together, and I always leave feeling satisfied and content with the quality of service I receive.
