It's just outside the hustle and bustle of Jordaan. The terrace is pretty cozy or airy depending on the season, they have heating lamps and local Dutch vibes - you can order something and they will leave you alone for as much time as you want until you wave them down again, so it's great to hang out and read a book. The charcuterie plate was pretty decent. Good first date spot, since it's right in that not-too-cheap not-too-expensive price point, you know what I mean . I'd say it's convenient, nothing so special that you'd go out of your way, but not bad either!

As soon as we landed in Amsterdam we were on a mission to get some grub. We saw Brasserie Blazer,…read moreas it was near our apartment, so decided to check it out. The menu is simple with sandwiches, two different salads, a soup of the day and some light snacks. They also have some Dutch beer on tap. I ordered a local IPA, fries and the goat cheese and prosciutto grilled sandwich. After chatting and downing our beers, which emptied before our food came, we ordered another round and started to wonder about our food orders, especially since all of us got sandwiches. It doesn't take that long to make. Our table was also next to the kitchen so we could see that the chef was on his phone, not cooking, which was confusing. We ended up asking another server about this and she went over to the kitchen to check on our order. Turns out - the order never came through in the computer system to the kitchen, so she had to tell him our orders so he could start making it. By the time we got our orders we were starving (since we were traveling all morning!). My grilled sandwich had lots of goat cheese, which was yummy, but wish it had more of the prosciutto. Nothing special about the sandwich, but at least it was sustenance. Same with the fries. I was hoping for some good, thick fries to go with the side of mayo, but they were thin. Overall, Brasserie Blazer is not the best option for lunch in the Jordaan neighborhood of Amsterdam, but it was convenient for us.

They took American Debit (credit) cards the last time I was there. They have good borrel and dedicated customers. Their meals look very good. I've only had the Zalm Salad and the bar food. Prices are a bit more than my favorite place but it's on that side of the Bilderdijkstraat. The plus of this place is they are open when a lot of other pubs are closed (on Monday's or some holidays) - but check first! Crawling distance from the Food Hallen.

Finding a name must be one of the most exciting things when you open a cafe. I can't understand why…read morethe horeca people in Amsterdam are so uninspired recently. Examples like Dapper (which isn't even in the Dapperbuurt) and Filter make me frown. Yes, Kade West IS at a kade indeed. In west. Replacing Café Day, yay. Btw, I never understood why they painted Café Day in a very unpretty greenish grey. They even painted the wooden tables and benches outside, in a different shade, aw! New name, same paint. BUT, apart from my personal taste I only have to report good things about Kade West. Because it's actually a great place. It's got an ideal room size, not too big and not too small. Next to the ground level with the bar there's a lower and an upper level with tables and chairs. The latter fits around 20 people. During the day it's an eetcafé and at nighttime it's a bar. There is a terrace by the canal with space for around 30 people. The staff is very nice and attentive, I hope they keept that up! AND, since I arrived they keep playing a lot of my favourite music so they're unfairly influencing me in my opinion. And without knowing what I'm doing here they boodled me by offering me fantastic big kalamata olives. I cannot not like this place. And you will neither. Come here for work, coffee and a bite during the day or for borrels and true gezelligheid at night.
