Over priced and lacking any comfort. The units do not even have microwaves. The hot water only lasts 10 minutes.

I do not suggest renting from here, they charge outrageous fees and the staff treats tenants poorly

First Site - This was near the front door of the building. All of the black areas are roaches that were crawling all around the ground.

After hearing horrible, horrible things about First Site after signing my first apartment with…read morethem, I was very nervous about them doing my move out inspection. The apartment I rented with my boyfriend wasn't the fanciest or newest, but it worked. There was an issue with cockroaches, but they evicted the problem resident and had pest control out there twice a month. Problem solved. Other than that, there were no major issues. Zach and Joe'l did our move out inspection and we actually were scheduled for a later time as we were planning on leaving Normal and coming back to do the walk through with them, but we asked if we could do it that day to save a trip and they were VERY accommodating and nice. They got us in the next day and it took maybe 10 minutes?! They were so kind. I SCRUBBED my apartment top to bottom, because I was so nervous they were going to try to find things to charge me with as others have stated, but if you go through their move out cleaning check list you should have no issues. That's exactly what I did when I cleaned my apartment, because it's stated in your lease that you're responsible to clean when you leave. As I'm sure a lot of people have heard horror stories about First Site, I assure you that if you are decent human being and treat the apartment with respect and clean appropriately you should have no issues.

Was told I was approved for an apartment with conditions, one being having a guarantor. I contacted the office and was told there are no vacancies and there is a wait list of over 150 people! At no time did they tell me this was the situation. I requested a move in date of June 26, 2026 and never once did they say this would not be possible. When I asked why they did this they said "this is the way we do things". This practice is done to generate revenue for this shady company. Stay away from them!

Miller Properties - The hole that was made from the upstairs neighbors flooding the apartment above us last September. To this day, the hole still is not fixed.

She will not be paying rent on February 1 as she has paid rent on time every month since she's her for over three years, this is and I cannot believe the condition of this apartment and what she is living and she's a hard-working person and she deserves better than this and I will make sure that the city is aware of this situation .

We moved in July 2014. We lived in the downstairs apartment, and had a mother and small child in…read morethe upstairs apartment. Everything went well until she moved out. We had cats, so did she, but we were blamed for the smell of cat pee in the front hallway, which we were specifically told we were not allowed to use. We weren't allowed to renew the lease and were paying an extra $50/month from then onward. In September 2016, we got new neighbors. They were loud, messy, and had a really bad habit of letting water overflow. The first big incident of overflowing water, they caused the ceiling to fall in our kitchen, leaving about half of an inch of water throughout our kitchen along with bits of ceiling tile and wood. Within the day, there were roaches and gnats all over our kitchen. The gnats didn't last long with the Raid Flying Insect Spray, but the roaches were resilient. I went through two cans of Raid Roach Spray, 18 roach traps, and installed those Rid-X plugins all over my apartment. Take note that for 26 months, we never saw a single roach in our apartment. Miller Properties never came back to fix the hole in our ceiling. March 2017, the upstairs neighbors were evicted. This month, we were given an eviction notice to be out by April 30. The reason? They say we're the source of the roaches!!! They're in our walls, they're killing our outlets and we still have a huge gaping hole in our kitchen ceiling, but we are at fault. I will never rent another property from Miller Properties, and I hope they burn in Hell.

I moved in and the first thing I noticed in my apartment was that there was black mold on a wall in the living room, then I found more spots throughout the apartment. So ofcourse I call the office, to get immediate help for them to clean the mold off the walls. They told me that maintenance will be doing further inspections later in the week and that they will "try" to get someone out today. However, I can't just up and leave and go stay with a family member or a friend while I wait on Sami maintenance to take care of it. I tell them this, and they are like "well you have two options, either wait for maintenance to come out and clean it or return your keys and move back in, on the official move in date." Which would've been in June. I'm sorry but not everyone has the luxury to go and stay with a family member or a friend. It's extremely shitty to disregard a residents living situation and not take care of the problem immediately and not argue with the resident and be shitty towards them about it. So I kept telling them this; that I need someone here today to clean it, because I have asthma and chronic bronchitis, and I am going to get terribly sick because of the mold. To fast forward a little bit, they ended up sending maintenance out eventually, however the manager for maintenance, was telling me that if health inspection came into the apartment, they would say it's "livable". Which that's completely crazy, I had to call the health department for normal township and the health inspector said otherwise and plus they found water damage in one of the bedrooms. Also to note throughout the entire interactions I had with Sami employees in the office, they were rude, non sympathetic and just overall disgusting towards me. Secondly, I have two cats with me at this time, one of them: I am pet sitting for and the other is my service animal. Maintenance, told them that I have two cats, Sami office employees said "Hey, when maintenance was in the unit--they noticed their was a cat. The building is actually pet friendly, but you have to properly register it and pay for it before the animal is supposed to be in the apartment. Do you just have one cat or 2? We can send the pet form to your email. It is $300/pet." $300 per pet!!!??? What the hell is $300 covering and why that much for a cat? Like I have no problem filling out a form for my service pet, and the second cat is gonna be on its way back home next week but why charge residents $300 for a cat?? Like wth, plus when I was just in the office, I was telling Natalie that I didn't know pet sitting wasn't allowed and I just can't get rid of the cat, like I was paid to pet sit and the pet will not have a place to go. She just kept shrugging her shoulders and being disgusting towards me about it. Natalie has an unprofessional attitude in general, if you have been working your job for this long you should know how to have proper customer service skills and not act rudely. Customer service is about growing rapport, being respectful and have a good attitude and a good smile on your face! Overall there is just complete unprofessionalism happening in that office, and something needs to be done about it. How can you be okay with yourself and talk to people the way I have been spoken to!!!
