When my wife and I approached the bar, the first question we were asked was whether we had a reservation. There wasn't a greeting beforehand, which set the tone a bit off for us. Shortly after, we were also asked where we were from. It wasn't clear whether that meant nationality or if we were local, but the question felt unnecessary in that moment and made us slightly uncomfortable. We ended up speaking with two women who were more helpful and answered our questions professionally, which we appreciated. Still, first impressions matter. Unfortunately, the initial interaction left us not feeling entirely welcome, and because of that, we likely wouldn't return or spend our money here again. Just sharing our honest experience.

My dad got my boyfriend golf lessons with Marc as a gift for his birthday and he could not have…read morepicked a better gift! After the lesson he went on and on about how beneficial it was. After a few swings Marc was able to diagnose the main issue with the swing and make the proper adjustment. They were able to work through irons, driver and sand wedge within the hour and he is excited to put the revamped swing to use on the course. He also particularly loved the screen that you hit into and the type of data you are able to derive from it (angle of contact, open vs closed club face, etc.). It was easy to see how the adjustment translated into better data and better contact. Now he is excited to put what he learned to use on the course.

I began taking lessons with Marc about three months ago. I have played golf casually my entire…read morelife, but never really got into it seriously until recently. I really wanted to improve my game and was getting frustrated with how inconsistently I was hitting the ball, even though I would work hard to hit the range on a weekly basis. Marc started me out with the basics, teaching me to improve minor things in my swing. He never stressed getting things right the first time, but rather getting me to a point where I could start playing consistent golf and start scoring. As the lessons wemt on, I could feel my swing start to gradually change and fill out more. It was a beautiful thing to experience. After four lessons and a good deal of practice on the concepts Marc has taught me, I am now scoring on the golf course better than I would have ever imagined (from 105s to 88s). My drives are straight and my irons are more accurate than they've ever been, with very consistent, pure contact. This was by far the best decision I could have ever made for my golf game, and I strongly recommend Marc to anyone that wants to learn the right mechanics of swinging a club and wants to finally iron out that nasty slice!

I figured this was the perfect time to try it out. What i wasn't expecting was an additional $29 fee for using the bay. Plus tax and then being asked to leave a tip. I definitely wasn't expecting to pay that much on top of a promotion for a complimentary session. On the positive side, the people working there were really nice and welcoming. I really appreciated that club rentals were included. I tried out the different games that they had in their virtual screen. Overall, I enjoyed the experience, but i just wish they told us about the additional fees and had been a little more transparent upfront.

So I did a search via Google/Yelp and Mike seemed to have a great reputation. First lesson booked! Mike is super friendly and a great instructor. He didn't care that I knew nothing about Golf and made me feel confident in learning a new skill. He was patient and explained what everything meant so I understood the lingo if I was ever on a course (I can #TalkThatTalk now). Having clubs and golf balls already there was very nice, since I don't own any equipment. The simulator used for the lesson is a state-of-the-art golf simulator and is fantastic to see all the metrics in your swing and distance. This made the experience fun and engaging. I have WAAAAAAYYS to go in my Golf skills, however, I am looking forward to my next lesson. #AlreadyBooked.

I was so blown away how within 30 minutes I was crushing balls past 175 yards with a five iron. I'm from Brooklyn but I'm taking some time to go back and see Mike next week. Finally found a coach worth working with. And at $80 an hour? Worth every penny.

He is patient, truly detail oriented, and he will not let me budge on setup or grip, which is exactly what I need. He explains mechanics in ways my brain understands, and if the first version does not land, he tries another and another until it clicks. :) We just had a company event at Canoe Brook Country Club in New Jersey and I am proud to say I held my own. The Hack Shack itself is simple, but the TrackMan is excellent, they had all the women's clubs I needed. The large private room made starting a new sport feel much less intimidating. I have hit at Chelsea Piers and it felt like chaos. This was calm, focused, and genuinely confidence building. If you are a beginner, especially a woman who is nervous to start, go see Evan!

This would have injured my hips or knees. Evan was rude and lazy about teaching me proper technique for golf. Evan has no ability to teach a new golfer how to swing a club or how to play golf. He also has no skills in talking to new golfers. Lastly, a week after my lesson, Evan returned a prior call and asked if I was still interested in having a golf lesson with him. Very poor customer service, He didnt even remember that he met me a week earlier. For $190 Evan was a complete scam!

Five Iron Golf is located on the 3rd Floor and it is a really nice layout. We ventured to the back bar area and ordered the bottomless wings and a few cocktails. We observed people playing golf simulator and various other activities. There were numerous large screen televisions showing various sporting events. The food and drinks were actually pretty good and I wasn't surprise. The menu had a great variety especially for a sports venue, more than your typical burgers and fries. Five Iron Golf offer a lot of services for groups or individuals. It was a nice evening and everyone was extremely friendly. Definitely not your typical loud bar scene, but a nice relaxing atmosphere with a great mixture of people having a good time.
