I was really nervous about letting him go away with the team because he's tiny, he had never played football before, and I wasn't sure how he would fit in with a team full of kids who had been playing together for 3-4 years. My fears were immediately quelled when we picked him up from the bus after camp had ended. Coach Moore is fantastic! He challenges and encourages the players to strive to be their best. He gives them feedback on ways to improve and he really breaks things down so they can understand. A true teacher! I was especially impressed when I learned the organization provides a bus to take players/families to/from games. This would certainly have been a FIVE star review if the certification process wasn't soooo long. (which may or may not be a reflection on the program) OVERALL: A wonderful local program with great coaches, mentors, and fantastic players/families. Highly recommend!

We thought this club would make her love sports more but it has instead turned her off Soccer. On their FIRST class, they were told to tap and and kick the their own ball while chasing the coach around who went around in circles and zig zagged around. Not only were they supposed to chase the coach, while keeping their eye on the ball and kick the ball, they were also supposed to each grab a jersey off his waist. Keep in mind that these are 3-4 year olds and imagine the chaos. The classes are far more advanced and is not at all tailor made for 3-4 yr old kids. A couple of parents commented to the coach that the kids just can't follow this class and they were dismissed, saying that "well, SOME kids get it". True- some kids who were 4 did get it but it was definitely not designed for this age group. Whoever wrote the curriculum does not have kids and doesn't understand what their cognitive skills are at this age. They were given numbers to memorize at one point then they were split into groups so they can go after the ball when their number is called. Sounds fair but honestly the kids didn't even remember their number by the time they walked to separate sides. It was just chaos. I'm sad we even bothered because now our daughter refuses to play soccer. At all. She now hates it.

The Footy referee was more focused on reprimanding her for expressing her vocal outrage that a foul wasn't called. Mind you, she had a fractured cheek bone, bruised ribs, and a concussion. The referee laughed in her face. The other team faced no accountability. The result - she was suspended. Not like she can play any time soon due to her injuries, which may require surgery. Like other reviewers have noted, the refs can be biased, and that bias DOES result in injury. Don't join this league if you value safety.

I've played in these leagues for over a year now, so it kind of hurts to leave a bad review since…read moremy time hasn't been completely awful. However, as some reviews have pointed out, the refs can be very bad and make very biased calls. I've been ran into full speed in the back on breakaways, challenges that could've seriously injured me, only for the ref to call it a fair challenge. Meanwhile, if I challenge someone shoulder to shoulder in a fair play, it's called a foul if my opponent flails enough and looks at the ref. If I were you, I'd avoid Bedford Armory and Lower East Side, where I had experiences with those bad refs. The Brooklyn Bridge one was ok maybe 30% of the time (literally gave me a yellow card for defending his call while ignoring the entire opposing team hollering at him for it). The officials tend to ref the same fields every week. You risk getting injured due to the random nature of their officiating and inability to control games. I'm not sure if it's due to improper training or bias towards certain groups of players and favor towards others as some have pointed out. Whatever it is, it is completely unacceptable for me personally. My dad tore his ACL playing in his adulthood -- I don't want that to happen to me. I may try one more season if a good discount ever rolls around again, but I think I'll see how the refs and players are like around the other NYC leagues afterwards before deciding to come back ever again. It is what it is. I don't expect this review will be received by ownership well, but idrc at this point. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. Everything is done through the app, from reserving a table to paying for snacks to opening the door. For a table in a shared space (open pod) it's about $10/30min during off-peak hours and $15/30min during peak hours. Sometimes they have reduced rates for certain tables; it's a little weird to navigate on the app so I wish it was a little clearer.
