I came in today for a second opinion on a brake inspection. A previous shop told me I just needed my rotors resurfaced and were willing to sell me just the pads. This shop measured my rotors and told me they were not within spec and was safer to replace the whole thing. They came highly recommended by my neighbor that has lived in Norman for over 20+ years. However somewhere along the way they have decided to overcharge for parts and labor and then add a ridiculous diagnostic fee if you don't let them gouge you. Tried to charge me 120.00 for leaking antifreeze well I bought at Auto Zone for 60.00. Then tried to charge me over 400 to replace it telling me it would take 3 hrs, my brother replaced it in 15 min. These people are crooks. They did a repair on my car, and then they try to sell me a new set of tires. I didn't think I needed new tires, so I took the car back to the place where I had purchased the tires that were currently in use. Those tires were only 3 years old and had 30,000 miles on them. The tires were designed to last 80,000 miles and we're in really good shape. I wouldn't trust anything they say, and I think I was overcharged for repairs that may not have even been necessary. read more

Brought my car there at noon for an alignment appointment. After inspection they stated it needed a front and rear alignment. They also stated it needed a rear control arm. Total was $616. Alignment itself was $100 of the $616. I went somewhere else for a second opinion and they found nothing wrong with the car. It didn't need an alignment or a control arm. Everything was within spec and looked good. Glad I went somewhere else for the second opinion. I definitely would NOT recommend this place. read more

I took my car in for a control module replacement that they diagnosed and then during the programing of the replacement they said the anti theft module burnt up so I would need a new module for that. I waited 2 weeks for the repair and then when I picked the car up there were problems with the car that didn't exist when I dropped it off. Electric seats don't work and there is a popping noise come from the speakers. They said both problems existed prior to the repair which is not correct. Prior to this I have had great service but this is totally unacceptable I would recommend finding another service center. read more

Sent my truck in for tires and alignment and they told me my trucks whole front end was done for. I requested the mechanics check for 1351 tied to P0305 that showed up on my OBD reader and Solutions2 app and they never did. When they called me to go over billing and what all was wrong michael changed his story 3 times about my suspension and repairs. The estimated total the mechanics wanted was $4,500 in repairs. One repair in particular was my doors bushing and pins which they wanted $600 for both, a job that is extremely easy and only takes about an hour to do, even less if you're experienced or have help. One ridiculous claim on top of that was " your rack and pinion is shot" if it was that bad then that means the car is undrivable and if they knew anything about a '97 chevy is they don't have a rack and pinion, they have a gear box. In any case the crew was unwilling to work with me on what could be done now and what i could have done at a later date. When i arrived to pick up my truck the mechanics had taken it for a drive and all of a sudden the truck drove just fine. While paying the total for the tires went from $340.00 to $424.00 because they slapped a $100 dollar install fee on them to get back at me for not letting them rip me off further. Avoid this place. Save your money by going elsewhere or take it a step further and learn to do it yourself. read more

My experience with Brookhaven Auto & Tire was not good. While driving on 9W in Oklahoma, I ran over a brick that came rolling off another vehicle piercing the driver side tire and slightly bending the wheel of my Corvette Stingray rental from Dallas and was towed to the nearest facility (Brookhaven Auto & Tire) by AAA. With the tire unrepairable and the wheel slightly bent, I agreed to have Brookhaven order up both the tire and wheel ONLY if both could be overnighted and installed no later than the next day. I needed to return the vehicle no later than the next evening in Dallas so I could catch my return flight home with my son. Long story short, the tire was delivered the next morning but the wheel was not. Michael at Brookhaven who I ordered the wheel through and who I called throughout the next day to follow-up on delivery status had not taken down the name of the person he ordered the wheel through, did not record the delivery tracking number for the wheel, waited until it was too late in the day to contact the distributor and could not provide me proof that Brookhaven had indeed paid for the wheel, saying "I can't get into that system". Anyhow, at 4pm when Brookhaven was closing, I told Michael that I couldn't wait any longer, needed to catch my flight and I would pay them for the brand new tire that was delivered and would get the Corvette and new tire towed back to Dallas from their facility. Michael wouldn't release the Corvette to me to get towed unless I paid for the wheel (which hadn't been delivered). Without the wheel in my possession, Michael not providing me any proof the wheel was ordered, a tracking number or any information about the wheel, I was not willing to hand over a credit card to Brookhaven. In the end, I lost a lot of money from our missed flights, additional days for the rental car, etc. because Brookhaven kept the car from the Friday afternoon to Monday when the wheel was finally delivered and installed. My bad experience with Brookhaven did not end there unfortunately. After full payment to them for the tire, wheel and installation, I asked for my original bent wheel back (so I could have it repaired) and they told me it would cost me $50, explaining it as a "core" charge. I paid $815 for a wheel that retails from Chevy at $705 because it was going to be overnighted and installed in time for me and my son to catch our flight - that never happened. I still paid the $815 in the end after Brookhaven held my rental vehicle and they then tell me I have to pay $50 for my own wheel back? Brookhaven Tire & Auto does not have good business practices based on my experience with them. read more

Earlier this year the tire pressure warning light came on in our rental car. We pulled in to Brookhaven and they could not have been more helpful. They put the car up on the lift at no charge and determined we had a non-fixable puncture. Michael Waller even contacted our rental company to help us with a solution. I have been a customer with Brookhaven Tire & Auto for the last 4 years and can genuinely say this place will treat you like family! Their quality and honesty is unparalleled. I usually use Cory as my mechanic there and I cannot recommend him enough - even months between repairs, he'll remember your situation and car's history. I'm a young, female college student and being away from home trying to take care of a car on my own dime (with zero knowledge of cars!) was often overwhelming. But, they would always work with me on pricing (they offer a student discount!) and talk me through all the ins and outs so I was better informed about my vehicle and it's maintenance. Gina, the owner, is so kind and I am grateful to call her my friend! I had a series of unexpected and very complicated issues last year and had to have my car towed to their shop twice. I was worried about making it to my job in OKC so they lent me their personal vehicle until mine was fixed up. Just this past month I was laid off and my car broke down the next day. I was anxious and worried about costly repairs, but they did everything they could to save me money and any grief over the situation. Please support this woman and family owned business - I promise you will gain a reliable auto shop for life! I am a 20-year-old female who was visiting some friends in Norman this past Tuesday, August 11, before going back to my junior year at ECU this fall. While in Norman, I hit a high part on a washed-out gravel drive and ended up with a hole in the oil pan of my car. I was able to get it to Walmart, where they told me they could not fix it, but they recommended I tow it to Brookhaven Tire and Auto on 36th and Robinson in Norman, because they had been sending cars there for years. While I was on the phone with AAA trying to get a tow, my friend who was with me called the mechanic. They told her they could get the part quick, that the total would be $505, and that it would take about 3 hours. I thought that sounded a little steep, but I had to get back to Ada, so we sent it there. While I was still waiting for a ride to come pick me up from Walmart, I called the mechanic to make sure my car had been dropped off there. They told! me it had, that they now had the part for it, and, again, that it would be three hours. This was at 11 am. At 3 pm, 4 hours later, I called back because I hadn't heard anything from Brookhaven Tire and Auto. I asked them how everything was going, and they told me that the manufacturer had drilled the holes in the pan wrong, so it would be the next day before they would be able to fix my car. The next morning, I called them at 9 am to see how long it would be, because I had an appointment in Ada at 4 pm (which I later ended up having to cancel) and work at 6 pm. They told me they had a guy on the job right then and that it would be noon, and if there were any problems they would call me. Meanwhile, the friend I was staying with also had to leave because she was moving back to the dorms. At noon, I called them to check on the progress, assuming everything was okay because he told me they would call me if it wasn't. I was wrong. They told me they had been sent yet another pa! n with the holes drilled wrong, and it would be an hour and a half before they could get another one. Frustrated, I hung up and called the Chevy dealership to see if I could pick up a pan to take to them. I was told I needed a vin number to get a pan, so I called Brookhaven Tire and Auto back to have them read it to me. As soon as I explained I needed the vin so I could pick up a pan to take to them, the mechanic told me, "Oh no we just got one dropped off and it looks like it should fit. Should be done soon." I didn't think at the time how weird it was that 10 minutes ago he told me it'd be an hour and a half. At this point, I thought it was a little unfair that I should have to pay $505 for a part that, when looked up online, only costs $140, and also for a job that lasted 20 hours longer than I was originally told. I asked my uncle to call them, thinking that they would probably not negotiate with a 20-year-old female very well, and when he called me back he said they would not ! budge because I had already agreed to $505. I had not signed ANYTHING saying I agreed to that number, but I decided to just pick my battles. I needed to be in Ada in less than 3 hours at this point, so I had my friend drive me up there to pay for and pick up my car. When we got there, we asked to see the messed up oil pans and my old oil pan. He showed us the messed up ones, but claimed he couldn't show me the original because it was "blown up." I know it had a hole on it, but it was still on the vehicle when I had it towed, so I thought that sounded kind of sketchy. I had the mechanic go out to check and see if the car was done because I just wanted to pay for it and be done, and when he came back he said that he had spoken with his owner, and "since [we] were so upset, it made [them] upset, and [we] could put a hold on the card," so they would only accept cash for the work. I told them that this was completely unfair, as I had not once raised my voice at them. Yes, I was frustrated, and not exactly cordial when I first came in, but I was also never outright rude. He told me his hands were tied and he would not give me my keys unless I gave them cash. I was furious, but there was nothing I could do. I asked for an itemized bill. When he handed it to me, it said $573.69. When asked where the extra $70 came from, he told me it was "taxes and stuff." At this point, I was ready to come undone. I called my aunt and asked her if they could even do this after they had told me it was going to be $505, so she called him. He refused to speak with her, told me he was done discussing it, and that if I wanted my keys, he had to have cash. Finally I just drove to the bank where my parents keep my college money (my checking account is at a bank in Ada), and withdrew the money. The owner would not speak with me at all. The quote provided to me to mount and balance tires was less than half of what I was charged upon leaving. Their initial excuse was that the tires were over-sized, but I provided the exact tire size when requesting the quote. Further, there was a vibration so significant I thought that maybe I had purchased a bad tire. I was from out of town, so I was not able to return to the store. I had my tires re-balanced today and they ride great. Bottom line - double charged for poor work. read more

Worst ever. Avoid at at all cost. I ask if they had any discounts or coupons. He said no bill was $ 213.00 I said surely something for radiator flushes . He said no and with your attitude we take cash only. I said I have no cash. He said then I guess You don't get your car. I was very confused . After 20 minutes of back and forth crap about accepting credit cards, he took mine and I was on my way. Please note I went in for an oil change , they called with 170..00 additional items that need to be fixed.
