There were no X-rays, etc. What made things worse was that his office had already received my medical and dental insurance information. Yet, the staff got defensive and refused to file or submit the claim, saying they wouldn't handle the paperwork. I've experience working with another dental surgeon with a different specialty who is also not in my insurance network -- and that team goes above and beyond to help me and ensure every step of the process is covered. Sadly, that was not my experience here. I hope this review helps others make an informed choice.

The practice…read moretried to pad the bill with services that we not only didn't ask for but explicitly asked to be excluded. 3 Times I received a patient plan with those services attached and asking for the money upfront in spite of having insurance and unwillingness to understand the patient just wanted the problem alleviated and that future care will result in dentures for my husband. A week into this I received the "updated" plan with those services still included, the teeth not dealt with and the pain persisting. They seem more concerned with the almighty dollar instead of taking care of the patient to prevent possible infection or abscess while they try to convince us of services we have already said no to several times!

The hygienist, Nikki, was the most sweet and caring person and made my first appointment incredible. She was very kind and explained the entire process to me, what she saw on the monitor, and why the treatment plan was recommended with opportunity for me to change if I wanted to. Dr.Derek was very nice as well and both were sensitive about my oral history as well as genuine with how we will move forward. This office puts every other dentist I've ever had to shame because Dr.C's office has the most competent and knowledgeable crew you will find in Washington. The two implants that that he placed were loose and fell out when he uncovered them, and when he replaced those two one had to be removed and the other one took 2 years before I could have the other one have a crown placed. Dentist stated he would contact my regular medical doctor, which to my knowledge, never happened and I am yet to see an EOB from the insurance company of the July 22. 2025 exam.
