The staff were on it right away and worked to schedule me within days of a trip I was taking to Spokane. They literally went above and beyond to get me fitted, make new retainers and get them delivered to me. I was extremely satisfied and so happy to get new retainers. I'm originally from California where people charge for everything and they move you around like you're on an assembly line. Our last orthodontist was a great guy but Doc Curtis is in a league of his own with this office! I just had to add this: my daughter just got back from a week long girls camp and decided to chow down on a bag of kettle corn. Needless to say her spring popped out and the wire stabbed her in the cheek. We had no idea where the spring went and she was crying because the wire was stuck in the j side of her mouth. Dr. Curtis has a plan for emergencies. He has an on-call orthodontic assistant that answered the phone promptly and agreed to meet us at the office to take care of my daughter. Did I mention that it is 8:30 at night?!?!? Yeah. Doc Curtis and staff come through for us again! And AGAIN the service was COMPLIMENTARY!!! If I could give them 10 stars I would. UPDATE: My daughter just got her braces off and just wow...in one appointment I saw my daughter go from hiding her smile to feeling confident and beautiful. If only you knew what she was going through and how this completely changed her. I wish I could express to you in words how much this meant to her and to us, her family. That said, the biggest issue is availability. It feels like the focus is more on bringing patients in than actually accommodating them once they're clients. There's very little flexibility with scheduling, and getting an appointment after school (3-5 PM) is nearly impossible. Missing school regularly just isn't a realistic option for most families. If they could improve access and scheduling flexibility, this would be a much stronger experience overall.

I began treatment with the expectation of receiving competent, attentive, and professional orthodontic care. Unfortunately what I received instead was a consistent pattern of poor service, lack of accountability, and a practice that prioritizes VOLUME over patient well-being. I experienced so many issues with my Invisalign treatment. Multiple scans were done improperly significantly delaying my progress. Those errors were largely the result of an inattentive and poorly trained staff. One particularly disappointing incident involved dental glue being cured on my skin an avoidable mistake that should never occur in a professional clinical setting. Zero accountability was taken. I will say at one point there was a single staff member who stood out for her professionalism and care and she made a noticeable difference for me during her time there. She's the only reason I decided not to transfer care but she eventually left the practice which only emphasizes the ongoing issues with staff turnover. My appointments have been marked by disorganization and long wait times far beyond the scheduled appointment time. It's very much an assembly-line approach to patient care. The office always feels overcrowded and very rushed with little regard for individual attention. Rescheduling appointments was unnecessarily difficult and rigid. I was consistently met with inflexibility from the administrative side of the practice. Patient convenience is never a consideration. I also experienced significant billing issues. Automatic payments continued to be withdrawn from my account. It took multiple contacts with the office to resolve the issue and receive reimbursement. Dr. Johnson's demeanor shifted to one that felt increasingly indifferent and dismissive once I stopped responding to his insincere superficial interactions. It became clear that a genuine rapport and patient connection were not priorities for him. He didn't care about my case. My experience with Dr. Bret Johnson's practice was consistently substandard. Every single part of it. From clinical care to customer service. Every facet of my treatment fell short of reasonable expectations. I'm seriously disappointed. Orthodontic treatment is an investment of both time and financial resources and I expected a provider who is competent. I assumed that's what I was paying for. I would highly suggest anybody considering orthodontic care to seek it elsewhere.

He was a bit apprehensive at first about having his treatment but she reassured him and took away any nerves he was having. We even had to call her after hours. She was quick to answer and willing to do whatever she could to make sure my son got the care he needed without making you feel like you were a bother or disturbing her. Three appointments and all three have been 20-45 minutes past the check in time. Once I was willing to forgive, twice I was annoyed, third time is unforgivable. I will say, I was told we never checked in to the 3rd appointment, but after waiting in line for ten minutes (it was very busy and the people ahead of us were not prepared. We were also fifteen minutes early because we have quite the drive and I don't like being late) spoke to a receptionist we had worked with at another location as well and she assured us we would be seen shortly, so on my end I did what I needed to do. Once back in the exam area we typically wait another 10-15 minutes. They seem to really struggle being ready to go and again all three times things were missing and they had to go looking for the supplies needed to complete the process.... Now it might be a bad time where they have a lot of new staff, but 3/3 tells me this is a systemic problem not an individual training issue. And the only staff we encountered more than once was the receptionist. We went to three different offices for our appointments so not a particular office either. Overall their staff are friendly, they just don't seem super confident or prepared.

I am in the United States Navy and they put a top bar on my mouth before I left for Boot camp in 2007 so I wouldn't loose my retainer. Well about 4 years ago my top bar broke and I had it fixed and with a new permanent retainer the female of the two orthodontist's (I believe dr. Paxton) did not charge me much I think it was less than 200.00 also including the clear retainer. Well I was home 4 years later visiting for bloomsday and schedule an appointment because my top bar broke again, I was quoted 160.00 on the phone, well by the time I was done they took the cement off my bottom bar, did my top bar then gave me a retainer. I was about to leave and one of the ladies that works there said "oh that's going to be 375" and the male orthodontist said you shouldn't have been quoted over the phone, we will fix that internally. well I obviously couldn't not pay it. But when you're quoted 160 and it comes out to 375 that's a pretty big difference. If something happens again I will not come back, which is sad after literally 15+ years. There's plenty of orthodontist where I live (San Diego) that I'll get it taken care of.

I met with the doctor and he was great and easy to speak with, but the woman kept shooting me looks over his shoulder and ignored me as I left the room after my appointment and did not walk me out even though I made it clear I did not know my way out. I will not be coming back. I do not recommend this place if you are searching for treatment as an adult.
