Dr. Alexander is one of the best physicians that I have encountered. I had been fortunate enough to be a patient and I really miss her. For those who have left negative reviews because you might have experienced a longer than expected wait time - sometimes one must be a little more patient to experience high-quality, competent and caring services. As a patient with a rare condition - Dr. Alexander took the time to actually learn about my condition and customize my plan of care. Much appreciation goes to Dr. Alexander for all that she had done to further my care. I wish I had read the reviews before booking my new patient appointment! I'm new from out of state and need a gen. pract. doc. I got there at 2:45 for a 3:00 to fill out paperwork. At 3:55 and not a word what was going on from anyone, I walked up to the front and said I'd been waiting an hour. The receptionist replies, "Oh," as if she had completely forgotten I existed, "yeah, the doctor had an emergency patient from the hospital she had to see." I don't recommend you visit Dr. Brooke Alexander's office unless you are okay with 1. Rude front desk staff, 2. Long wait regardless if you show up early for an appointment. (don't bother coming early because they will still make you wait 40 minutes to 1 hour after your appointment time.), 3. It's a plus and a minus, she will be quick to write you an RX, send you to a specialist, but the bad is that she feels like the middle person so what is the point of seeing her. If you want a holistic approach and a doctor that listens you must demand them to slow down and give you the time you deserve...then they will. read more

Dr. Alexander is an excellent doctor. I found her to be patient, kind, and thorough. I found her for someone that was looking for a doctor and although it took many hours waiting after the appointment time to see her the first time it was worth the wait. We complained among ourselves about the long wait, but after seeing her we understood why. She took her time documenting his health history while examining him, asking questions and answering questions. She was extremly knowledgeable, patient and kind. She ordered blood work and other tests, thankfully because we found out about unbeknownst health concerns. The office staff had good customer service over the phone and in person. read more

Three separate occasions we visited her office. First time we went as a family. We were weighed and checked for pressure and sat in a exam room for 1.5 hour in paper gowns. Fine, doctors always get behind. Second visit i take a half day off and head to the office and cancels appointment 1 hour before we get there. Last visit we arrive at the office my wife sat in the waiting room for 2.5 hours and we come to find out she was meeting with people in the back and did not bother to tell us. Let me preface this review first: I'm not a demanding patient. I usually go to the doc annually for a wellness exam and occasionally if I'm sick. As I have a HMO plan, I even expect the doctor will be below average quality, and frankly I'm ok with that considering many people don't even have insurance or a doctor. However, this doctor is the worst doctor I've ever been to in my life. First, there is no phone answering service, meaning you get a busy signal ~75% of the time. Then when you do get a human to answer the phone, you're placed on hold for up to 10 minutes. Finally after getting an appt, you show up and the woman behind the glass asks for your copay before you even have a chance to say hi. A mild exaggeration, but she's not friendly and makes you feel like the copay is the only thing they care about. Of the 3 times I went to the office, I waited anywhere from 40 min-over an hour to see the doctor. I understand emergencies happen, but 3 out of 3 appts? Really? You then receive 3 minutes of her time. She is very impatient and difficult to speak to about tough concerns. Additionally, she is very unprofessional, bordering on questionable ethics. I CONFIDENTIALLY complained to my HMO provider about the office's lack of answering service, and the next time I saw her, she called me out on this and told me if I don't like how she runs her practice then I shouldn't come back. When I told her I likely wouldn't, she then tried to refuse me a 90 day Rx, and only write me a 30 day since I would be seeing a new doctor soon. I swear I'm not making this up!!!! Quality over logistics. I've been Dr. Alexander's patient for over 4 years. . I was really shocked to hear bad reviews about her. That's ok though...she's busy for a reason...she has loyal patients that keep coming back to her. Yes. You sometimes have to wait 45 mins. Yes. She speaks fast and the office staff speaks fast as well. Yes. It is a business, but at the end of the day, the reason why I am there isn't to receive pleasantries or be catered to as if I am at a 5-star restaurant or hotel. I am there for a more serious matter, my health. I want to go to a doctor that gets to the root cause/causes before diagnosing me. Dr. Alexander does just that to ensure that what you think is a minor symptom or condition, could actually be something more serious. So, having to take a few extra exams does not harm me. As a HMO patient, she also makes the needed referrals quickly. Her staff also calls back when they say they will and they are helpful whenever I call. I am blessed to have a doctor of her caliber. I am surprised to see these bad reviews for Dr. Alexander's office! I have been a patient of Dr. Alexander for several years and LOVE her and her staff. I have seen her for many different things from illness, chronic issues, car accidents and she is always compassionate and knowledgable. When a specialist has been needed, her referrals have been top notch. I am also impressed with the physicians that cover for her. Dr. Yokem is amazing. It's true if you have one excellent physician they will refer you to other excellent physicians! My friend recommended me to Dr. Alexander and I am grateful. I recomend her to all my friends, male or female. The only reason I am on this site is because I have to choose a different insurance plan and was trying to see what insurance she accepts, saw these reviews and had to give mine. Her staff is friendly and helpful and although I have never had to wait long, I would gladly because I know when it's my turn I will get the time I need as did the patients before me. I would like to say that the staff and Dr. Alexander have been nothing but friendly and on top of it! I've been seeing her for awhile now and I would never choose to go somewhere else. I went in the other day, hadnt been in in about 8 months, and was pleasantly suprised. Though she still speaks excessively quickly, she was actually personable and shared a story about a disease we may share. Also, I was called to go back almost the second I sat down - right on time with my appointment. I was very shocked. As a patient of Dr. Alexander's for approximately four years I have been very very pleased with her care. Dr. Alexander listens to my concerns and is efficient with tests and referrals, she has been spot on many times with getting me the right treatment. I have experienced doctors in the past who pass out to many Rx or push a "wait and see" approach which often causes more discomfort for me and appears to dead end. Dr. Alexander is great at her profession, she spends time with you if you voice your concerns, she makes sure you get set up with proper tests and/or referrals to specialists. A 5-15 min office visit (as the insurance industry pushes for) is not always what a patients needs, some health issues may be more complicated than others and so I can imagine Dr. Alexander is treating each patient as an individual not as a 5-15 minute number to push through the door. Sometimes the wait is longer than I would like...a visit with Dr. Alexander is worth the wait because I know she will get to the bottom of my health problems. Last, I am treated with respect by Dr. Alexander, she sees me as a whole person and not as a couple of diagnoses on a chart, this is "golden". read more

I was very surprised to read negative reviews about Dr, Alexander. I have been seeing her for 6 months now. Her front staff is obviously busy, but professional and nice to me and my husband. I don't have any problems getting through on the phone. It took awhile to get my husbands lab results back as they had the incorrect address and kept managing not to change it, it was eventually fixed, but that could have been done faster. I agree that the wait can be longish sometimes, but I am usually in the exam room within 20 minutes of my appointment. Dr. Alexander is very smart, helpful and complete! I can see how people think that she is rushed. She asks a lot of questions and types a lot, but she is keeping good records and trying to cover so much in such a small period of time. I feel totally safe and very well cared for by her. She diagnosed a condition that no one else could figure out and sent me to a specialist. I ended up having to have emergency surgery a few weeks later and thankfully she had pushed me to see the specialist asap so I had already had a surgical consult and knew my operating doctor. She is medical marijuana negative and if you are having problems losing weight, will offer more intense medical monitoring and medication management if you desire. She helps me take better care of myself and will get you in asap if you need her. I am a RN at a hospital, and in my opinion she is one hell of a great doctor. I have been a patient of Dr. Alexander's for a few years now, and just happened to see her today for an appointment. Dr. Alexander spends quality time with her patients, and takes all issues seriously. She is very knowledgeable and is up-to-date on recent medical literature. Dr. Alexander also has a great network of specialists in case a referral is needed. She is also flexible - when I wanted to see an ophthalmologist that she didn't typically use, she was very accommodating. Dr. Alexander is professional and does an excellent job balancing her duties as a doctor while still respecting her patient's input. I've been very happy with her. That if you are nice to them they are nice to you. . .but wait isn't that how it should be anyways? I know that in the line of work I am in, if a client is rude to me, I am not going to be the nicest person I can be to them. Every time I have called, the receptionist is very helpful. I never leave a conversation with questions unanswered. If she doesn't know the answer to something she will either put you on hold while she figures it out or will call you back.
