She had two factures in her back which could not be healed as she was on blood thinners to dissolve a blood clot in her leg. During her stay at Alta, I would call for updates on her. I felt she should have had a catheter on her since she was unable to move much to go to the bathroom. The staff was not doing there part by changing her, therefore, she came out of there with a stage 4 sore on her tail bone by laying in a wet diaper too long and often. The staff purposely moved her water away from her reach which caused her to become very dehydrated to where she was shaking so bad and it was hard for her to eat and had no control over the motions. With that, they put her on an IV to hydrate her. During her stay she developed a UTI infection where she was given antibiotics and caught Ammonia. Her pain level was always very high when the staff would get her up and try to move her around with therapy. To top all this off she was kicked out of Alta because her insurance ran out. Of course Alta covered themselves by having her sign the release forms to go home. A friend picked her up and the Alta staff was changing the padding on her tailbone which her friend questioned why it was bloody and the nurse ignored the question and did not really give a response. The staff helped mom get into to car as she was in so much pain and could not move her body. When they arrived home they had to call 911 to have her removed from the car to her wheelchair into her home. When she arrived home her friend was looking for the prescription Alta said they sent with her, just to find out they did not give to her. Her friend had to go back to pick up that prescription. Mom was in so much pain and immobile so they called 911 to have her taken back to the hospital. This is where the ER Hospital nurse called me to inform me that she had ammonia and a stage 4 tailbone sore from laying in wet diapers. She proceeded to go down and since she was in so much pain her eating was less and less, therefore, the stage 4 sore was not going to heal. I pray the staff who were in charge of caring for my MOM reads this and that there love ones would not to though a lack of care and attention. May there hearts feel pain due to this bad review that others in Alta will have better care.

Toby and Brenda from CenterWell went WAY OUT OF THEIR WAY to work with the doctor's office to develop a wound care protocol that met the doctor's needs for post-op care, and meet Medicare coverage needs. So why do I consider myself lucky? So glad you asked! Because I am one very satisfied customer. I had the opportunity to use their services again and I am still very satisfied. It is a bit daunting to have strangers come into your home when you are feeling a bit vulnerable anyway. On both occasions, all the health care providers were friendly, competent and completely professional. I really liked that the same person comes each time and they really take the time to talk and listen and work with their clients. They all treated me like an intelligent, competent adult. Both PT's pushed me to challenge myself to increase my mobility and independence, while honoring my wussyness. Both Nurses provided me with the information I needed to make informed decisions about my health and guided me in what I needed to do help with my healing. The first time I had some questions about the billing I had received from them. The people in the business office answered all my questions completely and helped make clear what was co-pay and what was part of my deductible. I really like that the company has a 24 hour help line if I have any questions or concerns between visits. This was extended to me both times after I had been discharged from direct services. So, while I hope I never have need of their services, if I do, and if I have a choice, I would most definitely use them again.

Wait time was minimal before being called in to pre-op on my surgery day. They have a big screen in the waiting room to keep track of patients which was pretty nice. Restrooms close by and clean. Sarah was my nurse and she helped me feel at ease during my procedure prep. We chatted and compared our Italy trips while she got me dressed and took vitals. My Dr came shortly before my surgery and went over a few things and left me in good hands. Everyone there was friendly and thorough in explaining what would be happening. Before I knew it I was wheeling into the operating room and given my anesthesia and lights out! I awoke in the recovery room and was asked by Joe if I was in pain. I was barely awake but said yes so he gave me some pain meds in my IV which helped quickly. I was able to wake up more and helped to get dressed to leave. I was wheeled out to my ride and felt ready to go. My only other hospital experience was with Renown but now I feel confident in going to NNMC in the future if necessary!

The bill read: "Need to set up a payment plan? Call customer service at..." Hoping to do just that, I called the 800 number shown on the bill. I was on hold for 35 frustrating minutes until I got connected with a representative who's command of English is "not exemplary", requiring me to ask her several times to repeat things she said so I could understand her. Despite the bill stating that payment in full was due "yesterday" (Sunday 2/22/26), I was told my bill was not "finalized" yet and that she could not set up a payment plan until it was. I asked when that would happen and she suggested I "call back in a week or two" (meaning: she didn't know). Extremely frustrating!!

My mom's laundry was becoming an issue but Christy & CeCe were on top of getting it under control, thankfully! I do recommend labeling your family member's clothing before being laundered. ALL of the therapists are awesome! Andrea, Grace & Carmella are absolutely wonderful! They genuinely care about their patients/residents. Will be discharged today after a 7 day stay. As a RN for decades, the quality of care and expertise here is 5 star. The CNAs were all wonderful. Joema, Rita and Terry stood out as did Leo. Joma is the kindest, most compassionate and funny CNA I've ever encountered. Her patience and concern for all the patients is laudatory. Amazing woman she is. My Physical Therapist Jordan and my Occupational Therapist Bethany are incredibly skilled and compassionate. They pushed me through the pain with tenderness. I can't say enough how talented the entire therapy team is. The RNs were also great with one exception. Tiffany got me through some tough days and Cyrene were compassionate caregivers I was fortunate enough to have. Dr. Williams and Dr. Su were skilled and attentive. They both have exceptional knowledge and bedside manners. Dietary must receive a shout out for good food, menu planning and Nadine and Serena who delivered my chicken broth and saltines were a pleasure and a bright spot. Only negative was a male night shift RN that made me feel like a burden, that my needs didn't matter and I should understand how busy he is. He should not work here. I've hired and trained dozens of RNs and this wasn't just a bad night - he lacks care and empathy and goes through the motions. Renown Rehabilitation Hospital is where you want to be when you need inpatient rehab. I'm forever grateful. Amazing group of skilled professionals with a handful of angels sprinkled in. Thank you so very much for getting me back on my feet. You guys have been amazing.

Doctors: 9/10 Dr Williams was friendly and knowledgeable. Dr. Saenz had a great vibe. Nurses: 5/10 Ugh, I can say that Rita CNA, Carlos RN, and Karen Charge Nurse were the highlights. I had very limited sleep due to overly intrusive nurse and lab visits all night long and the loud locker room uproar at the nurse's station at EVERY shift change. I know the difference in making rounds and telling stories about home, parties, relationships, being late, etc. Sleep in essential when you are trying to recover and have enough energy for 5-6 sessions of therapy each day. Only about half of the staff update the nurse board in your room at shift change and the bad ones never do. Food: 7/10, they make an effort to let you select from the menu sometimes. Most of the food was decent and they do make an effort. Like most hospital food it is as bland as anything. There was a ham like substance that barely looked like ham and was so over cooked that it seemed more like like a wet rice cake. Therapy: 0 or 9/10 Depending on the luck of the draw when it comes to staff. A grueling schedule, that was worth it in the long run. A few people stand out for good reasons: Kate, (Employee of the Month Status), Conner, Chris, Shaun, Debbie were all engaging and motivational. I found these people to be tough (at my request) and cheered on each of my successes. There were other experiences that fell short and others that were in appropriate. I have removed the names 1. for better karma and 2. Renown should deal with these issues and I am sure these people act out with other vulnerable patients. Only a few of the therapist wipe down items after use. Spread of germs and illness is likely. the rooms and gym all seem a bit crusty for a "hospital." Discharge process.2/10. I had to find my discharge was only a few days away be searching in "MyChart." I was told my meeting to decide my date was later in the day. I anxiously awaited someone from the meeting to update me on my discharge as I had my own arrangements to make at home. No one came at all. Finally the next day a case worker stopped by to confirm the next day departure. The next morning a doctor and 2 nurses came to my room to ask me about my discharge and what time I was leaving. I told them all that it was for the staff to tell me, and that I was ready when they were. If I had not called Preferred Home Healthcare almost a dozen times, I feel that would still be there. (similar to my last discharge from Renown) Ugh.
