Trying to find an assisted living facility for your loved one on your own is overwhelming, confusing, and sometimes scary. At least it was for me until I met Michael and witnessed how he helped and made a big difference for the betterment of this assisted living. His knowledge is enormous, and his experience with all the different facilities, based on price range, quality of services and care, community, and all the myriad factors going into choosing an appropriate place will definitely save you valuable time and energy. Brookdale is amazing from the decor and meticulous upkeep to the terrific food. From the administrators and to each and every caretaker. Also, this community focus on dementia has a wonderful social schedule, or perhaps a community for someone that doesn't want all the bells and whistles and is on tight on budget, but still gets a high level of care and need that we all deserve. I've been at Brookdale Irvine since October 2024. It is lovely, peaceful and quiet. The food is quite good. The transition from a house to a small apt unit hasn't been easy but I appreciate knowing that help is always close by. The people that work here are very friendly and always willing to help. My 97 year old mom has been at Brookdale Irvine since June of this year (2024). She moved from Palm Desert after sustaining a bone breaking fall, followed by a 4 month rehab at a skilled nursing facility near her desert home. She is very pleased with the Irvine facility, staff, service and even the food. She loves her apartment and particularly likes the respectful, cheerful, helpful attitude of the staff. This is an independent and assisted living senior apartment facility. There are studio, one bedroom and two bedroom apartments. Meals, activities and some housekeeping are included. Medication dispensing, personal hygiene assistance and assistance between the apartment and common areas cost a bit extra. Although the buiding looks like it is showing some aging, compared to some of the newer facilities, it is clean and safe. The apartments are updated when residents move in. The staff exhibits a genuine concern for the welfare of the residents and treats them and visitors in a friendly and respectful manner. The food is very good. There are 3 full meals a day. They have special menus on major holidays with seasonal menu items and decorations. The two areas in need of some improvement would be in the activities and in the transportation. The activities seem somewhat limited based on the size of the facility. Also, the transportation options for getting to places like a medical appointment, church or grocery shopping are very limited and do not include "door to door " transportation options. It is moderately priced compared to some of the other local facilities, so they have to make their monthly fees stretch a bit farther than some of the more expensive places. So, of you need a comfortable, safe, friendly environment for a senior family member, Inn at the Park is a good choice. read more

Our 93 year old mother has been in this facility for 17 months. If you want your loved ones to be treated like prisoners this is the place. Residents are treated with disdain and no respect. Activities have been cancelled for 5 months. The food is terrible. Often not even what our mother ordered. This morning they woke her up at 7am. (You have no choice on the time). They come whenever. Don't care if you are dressed or not. If you must visit a doctor or dentist, they try and shame you into either not going or having more monitoring. After she went to get her hearing aids adjusted, they woke her up at 9:45 just to take her temp. Terrible turnover of employees. Seems like there are new people every other day. This is how the residents are treated. AND WE PAY OVER 5K A MONTH FOR A ONE BEDROOM. Terrible experience. If you love your loved one, run from this place. read more

We are in the health care industry and have been working with this facility for more than 3 years, assisting in one-on-one companion care for the residence. Since the first time we set foot in this community, we have nothing but good things to say about the staff and facility. The community has amazing charm and the residence feel more like a large family. In fact, out of all the communities we service, this is our favorite and also the favorite of our staff. The community is managed by a warm and intelligent Executive Director, who seems to have endless energy -- a delightful and charming person who's smiles at everyone entering the building. Most Directors position their office in the back of a community to avoid the constant walk-ins, but this Director welcome all residence to sit down and talk about any issues. The Nursing department also go above and beyond. We have witnessed both the Director and the Wellness Director working pass the normal working hours on many nights. It's the attention to details that separates this staff. With every visit they take the time out of the day to sit down and talk with us -- a rarity in this industry. We're not sure why there are so many negative ratings, but we wanted to step up and say why this community sets itself apart from the rest. read more

We've done glass and door work for Brookdale and they refuse to pay their outstanding bill! It's been 7 months of back and forth with the company and zero funds have been received. This is for material already provided to them! They called us on "emergency" for a resident that threw a walker through the window and needed immediate repair along with door work. Once the job was completed and invoice sent they've been putting us through a ridiculous online portal/application to be paid and refuse to accept our application. We will be taking them to small claims court. DO NOT DO WORK FOR THIS COMPANY!! THEY DO NOT PAY THEIR INVOICES! read more

My Mom has been a resident at Brookdale since June 30th of 2017 and I am so thankful for the excellent staff, the tireless caretakers and health department, the Brookdale Hospice, the fantastic chef and kitchen crew, and the compassionate executive management at Brookdale Irvine. Sad to see my Mom's slow decline since 2015 but in spite of her changing needs, the team work at Brookdale Irvine has been wonderful. It has been the best decision for me and my Mom. Brookdale Corporation sold the Brookdale San Pablo building. Residents and staff found out on the day before Thanksgiving that it is closing, and everyone has to be out by January 31. My husband found out from a caregiver. 300 residents now have to find a new care home, over the holidays. The facility is competently managed and well kept, the compassionate staff is excellent, and the community of residents is nurturing. However, the corporation is quite happy to destroy all this, disrupting hundreds of lives, without giving anyone sufficient notice, and doing it at the time of year that makes most difficult and causes the most pain. Clearly, the Brookdale corporation won't hesitate to destroy hundreds of lives for a profit. The corporation is heartless. Do NOT go to any of their facilities: clearly, you will have zero security. read more

Most valuable employee reward goes to Brookdale's cook, Chris ... IMHO. She goes above & beyond her job description to create healthy, flavorful, comfy food & meals. I've sampled & can confirm. Variety & presentation are also priorities for this hard working, devoted cook & team player. Kudos to Chris for making meal time an enjoyable experience for our residents @ Brookdale. I'm writing to to tell you about Brookdale Irvine Senior Living. I'm a resident here, I really enjoy living here. There is a range of living options, from independence to assisted living for those who need it. The food is terrific. Unfortunately because of the pandemic, the dining room is closed and we are being served in our individual rooms. The facility is hyper vigilant about the virus, with good reason. We are the population most vulnerable to this disease. Before the pandemic we had a great offering of activities, including bridge, bingo, art classes, happy hour often with musical entertainment, and much more. During this pandemic, you can arrange a virtual tour with the marketing staff. All in all if you are looking for a retirement community you need look no further than Brookdale Irvine. read more

As a placement agency, I am in assisted living facilities daily. I love the staff, Lindsey in sales is fantastic and really cares about each resident. She creates activities for them, i.e. a Farmers Market came to the courtyard and the residence where able to enjoy fresh fruits and vegetables right in their own backyard. Jeanie the nurse is fantastic, not only a great nurse but connects with the residence and gains their trust quickly. I would place my mom or dad here for sure. read more

My mother was here for a year and a half. While I am not going to discuss her care, I want to let every one know that she had about $2,000 worth of jewelry stolen from her while she was there. I contacted the facility after I had moved her out but never heard a word from them. I had not even asked them to take responsibility for the thefts - just to let me know if they were aware and they had apprehended the person or to let other residents know. Wish I could give -5 stars. This is the most disgusting facility. No compassion or care for our aging parents. Service is almost non existent imagine if there is a real emergency and the response time is 45 minutes when my mother pushes the emergency button. Over the past three weeks we have had three items stolen from our mother's room one being her iPad which she love to use for games. This is an update to my previous review. I may have made it sound like I was only upset because no one was there to take me on a tour. Ii was upset because if the CULTURE of the facility is such that there no Executive Director - or someone else available and on-site at all times - how would they treat my parents? If there is no need to have a director on site on the weekends - then in my opinion - there is no need for an Executive Director. My father recently stayed at Brookdale Irvine for short term respite care while recovering from pneumonia. The option he had of staying at Brookdale was a good choice for him and our family - allowing him to continue to recover in a safe, caring environment. My Mom has been living at Brookdale Irvine for about a month. I only live about 7 minutes away, so I am able to visit often. The people who work there are all so kind and friendly. They remember everybody's name and individual details about their interests. They have multiple activities every day as well as a convenient beauty/ haircut place on the premises. This is the most unprofessional and inconsiderate hospital I've ever encountered. My uncle has been in the SICU from over this weekend. He's now declared brain dead and these doctors don't have no sort of compassion. DR Shaiova and team tried to manipulate me into believing we have no say in keeping my uncle on life support until we're ready to make a decision!! I told them I work in the ICU at another hospital and I'm familiar with these things. They can not take him off without getting full consent from his healthcare proxy!!!! Not being able to think properly because of the chaos going on. I then messaged my nurse friend who works in the ICU and is very experienced about, if the doctors can take my uncle off if I'm not ready, she said NO. They've had patients that was brain dead before and had to wait until the family was ready to make a decision!! So I then called them back and said what my friend told me and the doctor did not like it at all. Her words were " they don't know what condition my uncle is in and that's at that hospital not here" I then went on to say I'll take you guys to court her words were " oh well all courts are closed I then said when they reopen I'll take matters into hand. I repeated I've every right to keep my uncle on life support and she then went on to say he's brain dead and I said it doesn't matter, could y'all believe this woman hang the phone up on me it's like they don't have a heart and didn't care about my uncle and his family. I'm devastated!! What kind of doctor is she? She's a heartless inhuman person and God don't like ugly!!! read more

My mother lived here for over 3 years. It first appears to be a nice place to live but give it time. There was some good days for my mom but in time the cost went up and the service went down. They never seem to have enough employees, however the day we left there was new people being trained for the medical department. Our experience was more like employees would come to my moms room and if she asked for anything they would either leave and not come back or say they were too busy because other people called in sick. I asked the director how many were off sick and she said there was no one off that day. There are some good employees there that have been there a number of years but too few. My mom said most employees were working two jobs. Brookdale raises the fees every January by 3-5% and they will find ways to bill you for "personal care". I asked for an itemized bill and was told that billing is done in the main office in another state and they can't fix that. I found mistakes on our invoice and it takes until the next billing period to get fixed and sometimes it was still wrong and I had to wait another thirty days. They will also solicit you for a employee Christmas Fund. They will ask for $365.00 or $1 per day so they can give there employees a bonus in December. A corporate nurse named Sherril came out in April and decided to re-evaluate my mom. The result was an increase of $1550.00 per month. I was done with Brookdale and decided to move my mom out. On the last day there I went to pickup her medications and they could not find the $380.00 inhaler that my mom never got to use.Living here is like paying Hilton prices and getting Motel 6 quality. Baby Boomers pay attention! This industry is targeting you. You have a pension, a 401K, social security and a house that is paid for. They will keep raising your costs till you can't afford to live there or you run out of money. I moved my mom to a 6 person residential care facility. The bill is itemized and the rate includes all her care. The cost is lower and her care is better. If you can stay in your own home,order food delivered, pay to have your house cleaned and someone to check on you, you will be better off and it will cost less. read more

I visited this Assisted Living facility with some reservations as I heard not so pleasant information from a different Assisted Living in the area. I was surprised to find that the facility is actually really good. Granted the building is older but the amenities make up for it. If you are looking for an Assisted Living for your loved one, this is it as they have nurses on staff 24/7. The staff are very friendly and everybody seem happy there. Too bad my folks needed Dementia care. I could have moved them there. read more
