Worst feeling ever to be judged while you're still training. the office staff don't give a rat's ass how hard caregivers and qmap work in that place. They're always watching you on the cameras but never offer to assist! $20 a hour is a disgrace when you're constantly on guard and being sexually, physically and emotionally attacked by a handful of residents. I tried for YEARSSS to work here and was let down in a matter of 1 month.

My grandmother has lived here for four years. Garden Plaza has done a pretty good job taking care…read moreof her. In assisted living they have the potential to transfer to the on-site doctor. This is such a huge benefit, as I no longer have to leave work to take her to her constant appointments. She is quite forgetful, yet the activities that they arrange definitely have a positive impact on her quality of life. There is some room for improvement. 1. They do not have a commissary system, which means I have to make sure she has cash/checks. This is a nightmare - people of this age are forgetful at a minimum, and I know some other facilities do have commissary systems, where items are charged to their rooms. This is a no brainer. 2. The hairdresser has only accepts cash/checks- again very difficult for older forgetful people to manage money. 2. They do not have a small 'general store" on site, yet this would be such a big relief and just make sense for small things like chapstick, toilet paper, and so forth. Garden Plaza maintains the expectation that a family member will still come and manage all of these things. My hope is that we make some progress on these issues in the future. In spite of these issues I am still happy that she is there.

It is convenient to shopping (right next door to Target!) grocery stores, restaurants, department stores and other specialty shops in The Gardens on Havana. The rent is reasonable and includes several amenities: utilities, garbage pickup, twice monthly light housekeeping service, wifi, coffee bar, concierge service, fitness room and maintenance. The Bella Vita Community offers many activities for residents: game groups such as Wii Bowling, Mexican Train Dominos, Bingo, Pictionary and others. Movie night is every Friday evening in our new movie room. We have resident committees to provide input on all aspects of our community. Guest speakers are arranged to visit to provide the latest info relevant to Seniors. Birthdays are celebrated monthly, donuts are available on Mondays and our community director sees that treats are available a few times a month. We also have a resident lead Book Club, Bible Study, Coloring Club as well as happy hours and socials. We have the best view of fireworks on the Fourth of July on our third floor deck. The deck is a wonderful place to sit and relax with friends and is equipped with plenty of tables, chairs, comfortable furniture, BBQ grills, and a fire pit for chilly days and evenings. My company took an oxygen monitor to one of the residence at Cherry Creek Retirement Village. The…read moreresident took the overnight test and entrusted the monitor to the front desk receptionist, Kathy. Kathy in turn gave the oxygen monitor to another person not from my company. As far as she knows it was a total stranger. This monitor is worth $750.00. Not to mention that the resident who is 95 years old took a test on this monitor. This poor resident is beside herself with worry about this monitor missing. I contacted Kathy at the front desk and she replied that they are not responsible for their residence. She was very, very rude to the point of obnoxious on the phone. Her conduct is not someone who I would want representing my company. She should be fired for her conduct both in the handling of the oxygen monitor and her dealing with our company.

They can't keep talent and the people they do keep are abrasive, refuse to listen to technical staff, and literally have to be taught how to use basic computing functions. New hires on multiple occasions needed taught how to type exclamation marks so they could enter their basic passwords. Nurses themselves tell me they are only here until they can find higher paying more lucrative jobs at non Hospice facilities and the turnover rates validate this.
