What a amazing team!!!…read more My 15 pound dog was attacked by a very large dog on Sunday. I rushed her to this clinic and the entire staff was fast, efficient, knowledgeable and very caring. The front desk, vet tech Kristina, and Dr. Natt are the best. If I could rate them higher I would give them a 10. Thank you so much much for helping Dolly!!

Unfortunately, the quality of care he provides is overshadowed by an extremely rude and unprofessional front office staff. For about a month we left messages roughly once a week regarding scheduling our Golden Retriever for a spay procedure and never received a call back. Eventually we were told Dr. Khurmi had been on vacation, and suddenly we were able to schedule the surgery. It would have been helpful if that had been communicated earlier, but at that point we were simply happy to finally get the appointment. We chose the laparoscopic option because we had read it could be less traumatic and allow for an easier recovery. We were given a price range, and when we dropped our dog off we paid $1,783.94, which was the lower end of the estimate. When we picked her up, we were told we owed an additional $116.06. The amount itself was no big deal to us. We had already agreed to a cost range and were fully prepared to pay within that range. Out of simple curiosity, we asked what caused the final cost to land at the higher end. The vet tech immediately became defensive and spoke to us in a condescending tone in front of other clients, repeatedly stating that we had agreed to a range rather than simply explaining the difference. We never received a clear answer. While waiting, there were also other clients ahead of us who appeared surprised by additional charges at checkout, so it did not seem like an isolated situation. The discharge process was also rushed. The vet tech briefly went over the medication but did not clearly review the rest of the post-operative instructions before sending us home with a printed sheet. Nearly two weeks later the stitches are still clearly visible, so we called the office today to confirm whether they were dissolvable or needed to be removed. I had made a mental note that the instructions mentioned something about sutures being removed around 14 days, as we are approaching that timeframe and I wanted to get them taken out. When I explained that this had not been discussed with us, the staff member responded in a very abrasive tone, repeatedly insisting that we had been sent home with an instruction sheet rather than simply addressing the question. After requesting the clinical summary earlier to understand the final invoice, I reviewed it again and it actually states "sutures out in 14 days," which contradicts what we were told on the phone today. As a client and not a veterinarian, I should not have to interpret clinical notes to understand basic post-operative instructions. Clear and consistent guidance is important when you are caring for a pet recovering from surgery. I have since emailed the clinic asking for clarification and am still waiting for confirmation on whether the sutures are dissolvable or need to be removed. Based on our experience, the front office staff and vet techs could benefit from additional training in client communication and customer service. Pet owners should feel comfortable asking questions without being spoken to in a defensive or dismissive tone. After reviewing other client feedback and the responses from this business, there appears to be a pattern of defensiveness rather than accountability. Hopefully this situation will be handled differently, but based on those responses I would not be surprised if the reply focuses on defending the clinic rather than addressing the concerns raised. When you trust someone with your pet's surgery, professionalism and clear communication should be the standard, not something clients have to fight for.

The blood work showed our dogs were in good health. However, their kidneys were right under the line for needing a special diet or meds. We were told to keep an eye out for any changes. In January 2025, we moved from Scottadale to Cameron Park. In March, we noticed our eldest dog, Otis, had a corneal ulcer (1). Later, I learned ulcers can be a sign of kidney failure. We went to nearby Airport Pet Clinic (APC) for treatment. We purchased the medication for healing. Since there would be follow-up care, we bought their annual Pet Plan to cover those future visits. At his follow-ups: 2) I said Otis would sometimes stare off into space or stumble about as if drunk. I was told this was dementia. Later, I learned this type of confusion can be a sign of kidney failure. 3) I mentioned twitching and weakness in his back legs when standing. I was told this was arthritis. Later, I learned muscle changes in the legs can be a sign of kidney failure. 4) I was asked about his potty routine. I was not asked the color of his stools. Later, I learned his black, tarry stools can be a sign of kidney failure. 5) I was asked about his drinking. I said he drank a TON as I was often refilling his bowl. Later, I learned drinking a lot of water can be a sign of kidney failure. 6) I was asked about his eating. Otis liked to eat his meals at 6 AM and 6 PM. But his drooling meant I had to wipe his face after. Later, I learned drooling can be a sign of kidney failure. 7) I was asked about his sleeping. Otis slept all night but slept more and more all day waking up only at meal times. Later, I learned increased sleep can be a sign of kidney failure. In March 2026, our annual Pet Plan at Airport Clinic was ending. I scheduled a final check-up for the dogs. Despite all the signs, no mention was made that Otis could be in end stage renal disease (ESRD). Instead, the vet focused on Otis's younger brother, Fen. He had 4 prescriptions for Vetmedin left and then he'd need a renewal. Fen has a heart murmur and without this medication, he could die. The vet wanted a $1,000 worth of blood tests, x-rays, and a cardiologist review to renew the prescription. I offered to pay $250 a month over 4 months so everything was paid off by the time Fen needed the renewal. This plan was refused. In April 2026, I took my dogs to Goldorado Animal Hospital. I had Fen examined first and we worked out a plan for his renewal when his original prescription ends. Otis's exam was scheduled for 9 AM Tuesday, April 22. Regrettably, Otis became ill after midnight on Monday, April 21. At his appointment, his kidneys were failing so I had to make the worst decision a pet parent has to make. Otis passed away, his ashes are with us, we are comforting his little brother, and our whole family misses him. First, I am upset that his signs were missed during his annual care at Airport Pet Clinic. Second, Otis needlessly suffered because he wasn't properly diagnosed. Third, measures weren't taken to delay the end stage or ease symptoms or reduce pain. Please, APC, take more care spotting signs of kidney failure in geriatric dogs. It hurts me so much to think my sweet boy was suffering unnecessarily the last year of his life. No one deserves that.

They wanted to do x-rays and a couple of shots that was nearly $500. I'm a senior on fixed income and I said I didn't have the ink money. Would they be willing to take payments and they said no, so I had to leave with my dog, not feeling well as the weeks went by. I was trying to get my dog help elsewhere that possibly would take payments. I could not get a credit card. I'm maxed on credit cards so last week I called the vet because he was panting and I could see he was getting worse and wanted a prize on what it would cost for Dr. Robinson to put them down. She put me on hold came back and said it was probably his trachea because Chihuahuas get that and that cough and everything was causing it to spasm so come by pick up a prescription to relax his trach I told them it wasn't. He wasn't coughing or gagging anymore. He was breathing really bad but I picked up the pills went home. He never got better. I called the office. It was nearly closing time at 5:30 on a Friday I told the girl he was not getting any better. She said well it's not a miracle pill. I said I realize that she said she would have the vet call me so Randy the Vet he did call me back as I told him what was going on and he knew Rudy heart murmur being like a five out of six he said it was probably his heart keep them comfortable and he'd see him on Monday for free. Well Rudy suffered for another five hours before he gas for air rasp trying to catch his breath and dye in my arms I've left a couple messages on him getting bad finally I called him back and said he had passed away and left on their message. Well, it is a week later and I have not heard a call saying they were sorry to hear about Rudy or anything just to call and acknowledge would've been a good thing but they didn't. I found that unbelievable and harsh. I would never take another animal. I get back to that office.

"Now What"? i thought i might get a sheriff to help. so i called the non-emergency line. the dispatcher called the on-call animal services officer. she arrived about a half hour. she brought a sling but that only created pain. so she called another officer and they both carried her into the house. another "Now What" moment. they recommend taking her to the vet. they put her in the back of my van. off to the vet but i kind of knew these moments where her last. when i got to the vet they were not positive if they could do much. i decided i wanted her last moments in a "friendly and warm" environment. i tried calling several euthanasia vets. most did not want to come to pollock pines. i even tried to contact the previous vet i used for another one of my dogs. like others coming to pollock pines would impact 2 appointments. i was thankful home care mobile vet services was able and willing to come the same day. this vet was sensitive to my sadness and treated me with respect. luckily i was able to find a cremation company that was willing to come to my home the next day. rigamortis set in rather quickly, so i decided to lay with her for a couple of hours. when you feel it is time to end your dog's misery and have he/her put down at home this is the vet i would highly recommend. richard p.

If I could give less then one star I would. When someone calls for help to end their animals…read moresuffering, to help them pass peaceful, is it too much to ask that the person you are asking for help from be kind?? Upon calling this place, I was met with a hostile person, a female, I won't put their name here as I feel they will know who I'm speaking about without me needing to embarrass them. Actually I think anyone that has dealt with you knows who you are. Case in point; the person, the amazingly kind person who did help our sweet old kitty pass, knew exactly who I was talking about when I told them the experience we had dealing with you. What a damn shame that you have a reputation for not being nice, especially in the line of work you are in. Losing a pet is already one of the hardest times that a family has to go through. But when you also have to make that decision to end your pets suffering, well it becomes even more difficult. I understand that you might have been "busy", but you picked this line of work, which I truly don't think fits you, but again I'm me and you're you. It isn't hard to be KIND. Especially when death of a pet is the topic. It's not hard to have empathy. It's so easy to listen and even pretend to care. For the benefit of the next people that contact you to help them, no matter if the animal is small, try and be nice. And if you don't want to help the small animals, then take it OFF your website that you do, because you aren't doing anyone any favors by having it listed and then acting like it's a chore to help those little guys. it's crazy that after the way you spoke to me you had the audacity to ask if you should put us on the books? Be nice. Take pride in the work that you do do, because I'm sure you are good at what you do. But your bedside manner is atrocious and besides crying from my beloved animal going to pass, you also made me cry because of how rude you chose to be. Be kind, because being kind is free and easy to do. In your line of work I would think you would want to be kind, and happy- you get to be around animals, who wouldn't be happy with this job? Just remember when someone is asking you for help, be nice. If someone is asking for help for their pet be even nicer. These are members of our families and we deserve better than what you offered yesterday. Wishing you better days and hopefully this note will reach inside your heart and help it grow 10 times.
