There's a train station, a Woolworths, Asian grocers, sushi restaurants, The District food court, Tim Ho Wan, and a million other things besides. You could spend your life in here. Pull up a stool at the Steam Engine and watch the world go by over an extra hot soy latte.

The Chatswood Transport Interchange (or just Chatswood Interchange according to the signage) is a…read moreretail hub in Chatswood that provides shopping as well as transport to suburbs and the city by both rail and bus. It's a significant development which has come to demonstrate that Chatswood is gaining in importance as an alternative business environment to the city. The key to the interchange is the introduction of a large number of useful shops beneath Chatswood station - Coffee, eateries, asian ice cream vendors and major supermarkets like Woolworths. It also provides walk through access to the existing Chatswood promenade with additional shopping, bars, and restaurants. Three residential towers are scheduled for completion, housing 550-odd apartments. The expansion of Chatswood has really just begun!

Bicentennial Park in Glebe is one of my favourite places in Sydney…read more Having lived a short walk from the park for two years, the hugely versatile park plays host to so many pretty memories: playing ukulele by the waters edge on a muggy summer evening; eating fish & chips on a picnic rug on the grass as joggers pass with their dogs; playing soccer with a bunch of friends on a Sunday afternoon; taking my parents for walks down along the water; playing with a scurry of dogs in the off-leash side of the bridge as the owners reward them with treats and mingle near the bbq area; going for daily runs around the park as the sun set and the stars began to reflect off the water, and sitting on the hill on New Years Eve with cider and strawberries as hundreds of Glebe and Blackwattle Bay locals face the bridge and wait for night to fall. If you don't like dogs, Bicentennial Park might not be the one for you. Also, if you're not used to keeping your dog on the leash, be careful here as rangers patrol the on-leash area pretty frequently. Otherwise, with panoramic views of Rozelle Bay, this park is perfect for almost anything - just ask the Wicked van backpackers that set up camp in the parking bays all summer.

It's an expansive yet tidy field with lush trees and several walking paths. If you're a jogger like me, there's a trail that runs along the harbor from the renowned Boathouse on Blackwattle Bay Restaurant to the M4. This route offers views of the Anzac bridge and Rozelle Bay. There are dogs everywhere, and I have to say, I am so impressed with how most of them are off their leashes, yet don't disturb one another or the people who run past them. I know my dog would wander off on her own accord, ignoring my demands to heel. Despite this park being filled with dogs in the late afternoon, it is relatively empty earlier on weekdays, making it perfect for a picnic. Or come here to read a book; there are benches all around the park that make it a very pleasant and quiet location to immerse oneself in a great story.
