With all of the people writing reviews on the railway station I thought I might be a little…read moredifferent and write a review on the park (since it is, but it isn't, the railway station). Okay, this isn't a huge park, but it is quite a quaint little park hidden in the centre of Sydney. I've passed it a few times, however when I ended up staying at a hotel down here I found myself wandering through here quite often, and in fact would grab a large tea from one of the many coffee shops and sit out here with a book. Sure, you do find some interesting people scattered about the place, especially at night, but most of the time (at least as far as I've experienced) it tends to be pretty safe (which probably has more to be with my size). Mind you, come nightfall if you wander through the station you will find that it turns into a makeshift hotel, though I have since heard that they blocked that section off. As for the station well, there are entrances and exits everywhere, and in fact you can get from one side of the park right across to Pitt Street without having to cross a street. I ended up spending quite a bit of time wandering around here, which I have to say was pretty cool.

An interdimensional nexus where all points, all times, all realities, all worlds converge…read more It's like a Star Wars space port up in nyar, every kind of person you could ever hope to meet and or avoid - those charity collector people who try to engage you with conversation designed to trap and hold, schoolkids from a thousand different campuses, gym bunnies swigging thoe little shaker things full of protein powder, defeated commuters, lunching office workers, clutches of giggling teenagers and clots of surly parents not talking to each other because all this shopping is taking a terrible toll on them. There's a train station, a Woolworths, Asian grocers, sushi restaurants, The District food court, Tim Ho Wan, and a million other things besides. You could spend your life in here. Pull up a stool at the Steam Engine and watch the world go by over an extra hot soy latte.

The Chatswood Transport Interchange (or just Chatswood Interchange according to the signage) is a…read moreretail hub in Chatswood that provides shopping as well as transport to suburbs and the city by both rail and bus. It's a significant development which has come to demonstrate that Chatswood is gaining in importance as an alternative business environment to the city. The key to the interchange is the introduction of a large number of useful shops beneath Chatswood station - Coffee, eateries, asian ice cream vendors and major supermarkets like Woolworths. It also provides walk through access to the existing Chatswood promenade with additional shopping, bars, and restaurants. Three residential towers are scheduled for completion, housing 550-odd apartments. The expansion of Chatswood has really just begun!

Short lane where all the buses line up. Only one small…read morebench with a cover, so people will line up. Buses will pull all the way in to the lane, so line up from there. Otherwise you'll be "first" in line but won't get on the first bus that comes. Especially in the summer when people are trying to get back to the city in the afternoons, this gets really crowded. Could use some more signage and directions.

I came through here for the Sydney Marathon because race participants needed to get to Bradfield…read morePark for the start line. Each train car was packed once we arrived at this station so the train had to park there until everyone was able to get off. The bottleneck for getting out of the station were the stairs. Since it was an elevated platform, there were nice views of the Sydney Harbour Bridge and the surrounding area.

Milsons Point station (note no apostrophe in the name!) must be the CityRail station with the most…read morereal estate value. It's got the lot, incredible value, never to be repeated again: views (including water views and Harbour Bridge views), close to transport (yeah, literally, but ferries, f(r)eeway and buses are also not far away), close to shops (a couple of restaurants and cafes down there), heritage building, lifts built-in, gardens at your (non-existent) door-step. The list goes on. It also has got two bathrooms, an unknown number of rooms (probably more than your average home), but no parking spaces and no swimming pool:( Ok, in terms of real estate value I've lied a bit here. Circular Quay station is equally good (just see my review of it). The best part of this is you get to enjoy this value every time you check in here, and it only(!) costs you the price of a CityRail ticket. The interesting thing with the transport hub 'Milsons Point station' is that you won't even really notice it's there. Once you step out of the station building, which on its ground level really is just an arch-way under the extension of our Harbour Bridge, you're either in Kiribilli village, or Bradfield Park. From either side, it's just a stone's throw to the harbour. One last breath of harbour air. Breath-in...aaaahh fresh air: "Please stand clear. Doors closing." Oi, bummer.
